Aerolineas Platineas, as leader of an investment group of firms from Platinea and Solyhniya, in cooperation with the government of Solyhynia, announces the finalization of plans for a new international airport in Solyhniya. Serena International Airport (IATA code SSX, ICAO code SOSE) will serve as an international hub for Aerolineas Platineas, one of the fastest-growing international airlines, and as a new international airport for Solyhniya, competing with existing airports.
Serena International is located on the historic and culturally vibrant island of Serena (Серена), a short drive from the embassy district of Solyhniya. Convenient rail, road, and ferry access to mainland Solyhniya, including the capital of Boryslav (Борислав), make Serena International a fine choice for air transit to Solyhniya.
Serena International will feature two terminals: the Main Terminal, with four 30-gate concourses, and the Secondary Terminal, with a cargo concourse of 20 cargo gates and a private concourse of 15 gates for charters and private jets. Office space in the Main Terminal and Secondary Terminal is available, at a rate of $100 per square meter; airlines can acquire up to 20000 square meters of office space.
Other businesses may apply to set up restaurants and shops in the Main Terminal, or airport hotels outside the airport. Restaurants and shops may apply for a space of up to 500 square meters, at rates of $10/square meter upfront and 1% of annual income from branches at Serena International; hotels may apply for a plot set aside for airport hotels, zoned for to up to 10 stories and 750 rooms, with a cost of $1 million per story upfront and 1% of annual income from branches at Serena International.
