As for time commitments, I've certainly had an invasion by AMF that fizzled during the anti-pony RP days with my pony-nation, which I mainly attribute to the fact that my theme of 'bravely preparing to resist the invasion hoof and tooth' wasn't going to mesh with the 'AMF genocides ponies' story that I think was intended. I don't really think that's 'cowardice' but I can see why enthusiasm quickly ran out, and of course, I'm happy to start questioning Scand's prince any day now; enthusiasm for RPing a guy who's been "extraordinarily renditioned" to a black hole in a pseudo-saharah being beaten with a hose five times a day is also I imagine, quite hard to come by (even if he escapes it'll be 'being chased through the desert with dune buggies and camels' which is probably also not everyone's idea of a fun RP. (The idea originally was to hold him hostage for some sort of manumission, but apparently the Scandinvan royal family don't like him so that would have probably ended up with him never getting ransomed). I don't begrudge them that or think they're lesser because of that. Nor is refusing to RP a war with Menelmacar, an exclusively-FT nation that could destroy any MT navy of any size in a single, literal second, at all cowardly. There's not much of a story there, apart from what Menelmacar chooses to do in the occupation phase. We're all here to have fun, some people like RPing guys getting beaten with hoses, or occupied by technologically superior guys, some don't, and nor are they under an obligation to.

But this:

Common Territories wrote:Your region has little to no right or authority to be deciding what policies a country in another region does. Quite frankly, I find people who get all outraged over threads like this childish (and by that I mean EVERY DAMN SLAVE STOREFRONT HERE ON GE&T). For example, where was your outrage over the last dozens of slaver threads here throughout the years? Where's your outrage over real slaver scumbags like Scandinvans who more then likely has the worst slavery record of anyone on this website - He's sitting there laughing at how pathetic this slave operation is, vowing to continue his own brutality on his own slavery program.

Is basically untrue. Certainly there's no shortage of people who would happily RP sending folk to die (or blowing up his entire navy in one literal second) in Scandinvans to end the slave trade there. So going around touting that he's able to do so OOCly with impunity as proof that people aren't consistent is silly. The nature of RP is that it's consensual, and just as I can't get on with torturing Prince Erik (again, I am in no way upset by this) I can say, torture the genocidal prince of Mystrian Altea (And I do!) because that nation's player is entertained by that, but ICly, my nation is totally willing to go on in to Erik's cell any time of the day or night with the old cosh and give him six of the best. Calling nations/players (which was your complaint directed at again, it was kind of an OOC reply to an IC post...) hypocrites for being unwilling to do things that aren't possible for OOC reasons is a bit odd.

I have a slave-owning puppet nation, Lord Atum that I also don't let people do abolitionist-wars against, because frankly, that would bore me. But I don't go touting it around in GET threads as a reason nations are being hypocritical for objecting to other slavers and protesting about it. No one's going to RP abolishing slavery by force of arms in Lord Atum any time soon. I won't let them. But it doesn't mean you should go around crowing that they're not willing to. The inability to do so is OOC in origin.

But im frankly sick of slave storefronts getting this kind of attention - it comes off to me like its just one big fish for attention. Im not bashing any side really, im just getting my thoughts out clearly since this thread has been reduced to nothing but an OOC arena.

I'm sure someone can be persuaded to launch a moralistic crusade into your nation. Perhaps you should advertise somewhere appropriate for it?

To be honest, I don't give two shits if you think my reply was slimy or not because it wasn't - you know full well what im saying here and who im talking about in that well-over outdated part of this topic. Don't twist my words into meaning I hate people who RP one way and not another because that's bullshit.

I've explained that post was made out of frustration brought on by the said reasons. Im not gonna repeat anything I've already stated; it'd be pointless and unneeded. You're taking that one line about region authority out of context; it is meant literally as such, that people and regions don't have decision making power over others - that's how this website works. This game is played as you stated as well, by consent, that is what I've been saying in this thread. So your entire post trying to make it look like im trying to swish swash a forced RP format, player bashing, and yata yata is baseless. I have stated and correct before this exact message and im happy to repeat it as many times as I have to: I tire of one-line "I protest this for the sake of protest" in a GE&T storefront when I've seen little of this behavior outside someone's storefront. If you honestly wanted to protest and do something about it, contact that person and set something up so the RP idea can flourish nicely. An RP on the subject would be nice and much more fruitful then a simple paragraph on a storefront about your government's protest to slavery.

This thread has devolved into nothing but trashing one side or another - Gholgoth for whatever reasons people have (im leaving that subject alone, let you lot fight it out if you'd like to), Scand because he prefers to do little war threads and when he does he's selective in preferences, and now your post trying to twist my words into stuff it's not supposed to mean; this thread has hardly ever been anything but OOC speak so don't make it out to where it's not. So let me state this again for the record of everyone:

I advocated for people to try and set up legitimate RPs, and even stated in the last post that some people OOC didn't want to, which is tough luck. I never once told people they had to RP one way or another - just to set up RPs through the proper channels like RPs are supposed to be. It has always been my message here that people can ignore cannon anyone if they want to, I don't support forced RPs whatsoever and never said you had to force people into an RP. I stated TG them plenty of times. Whether I worded it badly initially or I some how confused people with my clarification - I advocated a friendly and cooperating RP environment. My views on RPs are that they should be done by willing participants and a friendly atmosphere. You should discuss and set guidelines of what you want to happen, the tech level, and anything else your heart can possibly desire. I don't agree with some ideas, I don't agree with writing against your interests, and forcing people into an RP is fruitless. I want writing to improve as well, so I suggest everyone wishing to improve to go out and try to improve - im here to answer questions in fields I know, I can help point people to areas that would help them better then I can, and I can point to Mentors who's job it is to assist people in the RP world. I love to help people, and I can get frustrated like anyone, so I apologize if I came out wrongly in what I was stating.

The fact this thread has gotten into talking about Gholgoth or Scand is because I decided to mention him (Scand) since he's infamous for slaving in the NS world. Everyone decided afterwards this was about Gholgoth and Scand when I just used him as a fucking example; going as far as to talk about their writing preferences and IC personas. And for that, Scand and Gholgoth, I apologize for doing/setting off. If people are actually writing out there fighting slavery, good on them, that's the point of what I said - or at least the purpose of it so people would do that first before just posting a complaint on a storefront somewhere.

And for your last comment, once again I used an immediately known example whenever I spoke of myself in said early post. I know for a fact I stated anyone else in my position out there as a similar example. I couldn't give two rats asses who shits cares if someone cares my IC history is evil enough for them to make a big deal IC wise - it's happened before in small ways OOC and IC and that's up to others to make, not me, because I will do whatever I please in the future as everyone here should be doing as well. Anyone interested in bringing such ideas for RPs are invited to TG me about it if they want to explore a thread idea, im highly open to it in fact, but the only reason im responding to this last comment is snarky and slimy in its own context - I clearly see what you're insinuating in your message. I don't consider myself a special case, people have done whatever I did or am doing plenty before I ever did shit - so no to your insinuation.
