Slave trade internationally

It has come to Cruxan attention that a Corpan storefront has been selling humans on the international trade board. This practice should not be allowed on a publc forum. I propose that this be made illegal on any sort of public trade, and violators should be punished. Sign support here!!!

Sincerely, Connor Mendel.

Selling war officers that are mostly martyrs are not a crime. If yes, they need to be punished too. Hope you understand.

Criminals?
I can see why you would need to deport them, but not to sell and trade them as objects.

You have two options, the way I see it. No, three.
1) Institute the death penalty.
2) If that doesn't go through, take them somewhere that it is legal.
3) Put 'em in prison and make them work, but not as slaves.

This is an acceptable and just punishment, however, I disagree in that other nations' prisoners and guilty parties should be dealt with at home in their nation.

I agree that slavery should be outlawed. HOWEVER, slavery is widespread through psychotic dictatorships and the like. Simply banning slavery will not go very far. Action would have to be taken against slavery trade hubs as a symbol of non tolerance, and international forces would have to be deployed across most of the known world to strangle the market in slavery. The approximate cost is almost unimaginable, and very few nations would be willing to commit troops to a fight that a large number of nations thrive on.

Also, this violates the national governments' right to self-determination. For example, being enslaved is a popular punishment for enemy POWs and captured leaders. This is sometimes justified, but it is not the world's privilege to choose when to allow slavery and when to disallow it. This violates most established justice systems and allows certain people and organizations to game the system.

Finally, some nations thrive on slavery and it is an ingrained part of the nation and its economy and culture. Would you rather keep slavery and watch many suffer so a few can live well, or have your troops suffer so the freed slaves and non-slaves can slip into desperate poverty? This is the question you must ask yourself before any commitments.

The WU is gathering support to make war on Corpa, and any help is appreciated.

We at the WU are willing to protect the righta of any nation and its residents. If the even of war does become reality, we at the WU will use whatever military strength at our disposal to ensure that the slave trading nation of Corpa is defeated, its business shutdown, and the slaves.returned to their families and given immunity to all WU nations in the event they wish to flee.

OOC: Let me just state this for you fellas.

Im gonna approach this as a WA proposal since that's what it looks like it's attempting - please do correct me if im wrong. Now. If you want to make such a proposal of international law, please do so in the WA General sub-forum where such bills belong (though I think there already is such a bill, so someone beat you ages ago). If this is the best you got, I'd suggest looking examples there and asking for help from seasoned persons there - I'd suggest stuff but the one thing I never did on NS was draft bills.

If your intention is to RP an economic oriented thread (your country pleaing to the world to halt trade with or form an embargo against said nation/organization) then please continue. I do suggest you improve the quality, however, by reading some of the forum's stickies and asking for help from experienced players like myself or Mentors.

Even if you make it "illegal" you have no legal authority in other player's countries - WA has no authority over non-member states either. So your options here are limited to two things:

1: Organize a total embargo on the host country(ies) involved until they abide by your wishes - though that likely wont do much OOC, it makes for good IC plotting that all sides can take.
2: Militarily stop them. Simple as that.

Since I was ignored, let me say again. Slavery has been illegal in WA member nations since 2008. World Assembly laws do not affect non-members; it hardly would affect you IC unless you wanted it to. You can try to stop countries from allowing slavery by war or embargo if you'd like, but WA wont/can't help you. If you want to push an embargo and have nations write it out here, feel free - if you want to turn this into a war thread move it to II where it belongs.

I don't want a war.I sold criminals, not someone that need to be free. They aren't honest workers or someone that caught a job; they are criminals. If all these nations from WU start a war, I will not give up.

Dear Cruxa, Slavery helps with the economy and corpa is not a member the the WA and classfised them as terror organtion. So they have no international laws agianst it. corpa and me will kill 500 infants if you come near us stop this or 13,000 infants will be killed.

Since they aren't members of WA, the only way to stop Corpa is military intervention. And Weiner, stop the threats. War starts with similar acts.

This is officially becoming unacceptable. The WU is a peacekeeping region that respects the laws of both the WA and the Union itself. Internationally, this form of human trafficking is entirely illegal: as are the threats to kill infants. I refuse to accept this as an option. However, I am willing to speak diplomatically with the slave nations and negotiate new terms of economic support, to wean aforementioned slave nations off of slavery.
