Ever since the Vikings first invaded Lindisfarne the Bearded Axe has been feared by the world. The known world watched in fear as they tried to anticipate the next Viking attack that would rock their very foundations. Even then, the Viking shield wall held firm and the Bearded Axe claimed many lives. As the centuries went by, the fear of the Viking's next raid disappeared but the fear of the bearded axe would forever be ingrained in the world's mind. That is what Bjornoese Defense Industries is offering you. Our products are stamped with the ancient Bearded Axe and the Royal Seal of Authenticity proves that your enemies will again learn to fear the dreaded Viking Axe.

Bjornoese Defense Industries is a Government Owned Corporation that serves as the flagship company for the nationalized Defense sector within Bjornoerne. B.D.I originally started out as one of many Arms manufacturers within the Soviet controlled Bjornoerne. It secretly manufactured weapons for the Royalist Rebels. When the rebels seized power from the Soviets in 1994, B.D.I. became the chief supplier for arms and equipment for the newly reinstated Bjornoese Royal Armed Forces. Their first tracked product was the MBT-75, a battle tank based off the T-72 and the T-90 main battle tanks. Which remains in use today as Bjornoernes chosen MBT.

Since BDI’s inception it has since expanded into several state-owned corporations with the purpose of diversifying their production abilities. BDI Land Systems, BDI Armaments, BDI Aeronautics Systems, BDI Maritime Systems, BDI Information Technologies are a few of the divisions under the much larger BDI wing.

The Royal Seal of Authenticity puts a two decade non-incidental damage warranty on all products produced by Bjornoese Defense Industries. BDI's policy towards parts for products no longer on the production line keeps a limited stock of parts kept in maintained storage with the option to produce more should the stock begin running low.

Overview

The Light Mobility Tactical Vehicle Model 4, or LMTV-4, was designed and produced in response to the growing need for a new, more advanced utility vehicle that would ultimately replace their aging soviet era UAZs. The LMTV, like most Bjornoese produced designs, features a highly modular design. The rear compartment cover and doors can be removed to act as a light utility vehicle and other non-combat roles while on non-combat mission. Adding the doors and rear compartment cover can be added depending on the role the vehicle is needed to perform. After being released in 2004, the only country to currently be operating the LMTV-4 is the Kingdom of Bjornoerne.

Armament

Primary Armament

The LMTV-4 can be fitted with a crew-served 14mm TME-80, a Bjornoese produced Heavy Machine gun, a 30mm AGK-2, or an MG-76(GPMG utilizing the 7.62x51mm caliber). It’s also possible to equip it with a Remote Weapon System(Fjernbetjening Våbensystem(FVS-1). The weapons are fed by a 100 and 50 round belts respectively. The TME-80 is normally loaded with High Explosive Incendiary Armor Piercing(HEIAP) rounds with the possibility to load Tracers and Saboted Light Armor Penetrator rounds. The AGK-2 is usually loaded with a HE grenade but can also be used with Airburst munitions. The FVS-1 is equipped with a Thermal Imager(Orange) with auto-focus and outline, 45 degree FOV, 10x zoom, and laser rangefinder, and an uplink with the Hermodh Combat Network.

Protection

Passive

The crew compartment of the LMTV-4 is protected by ceramic polymer classed at STANAG 4569 Level 1 to Level 4. The armor can be quickly upgraded and downgraded quickly using specialized tools and mechanics trained to do so. Uniquely shaped bullet-resistant windows shield the occupants while also providing increased situational awareness while reducing weight. All versions of the LMTV-4 are equipped with run-flat, self-sealing tires to insure that the vehicle retains its mobility even when under fire.

Electronics

Combat Network
The Commander of the MBT-75C has access to a rugged tablet which can be used to access the Hermodh Combat Networking suite. When utilized, the Hermodh Combat Network is capable of tracking all friendly foes operating a tablet utilizing the Hermodh Combat Network. Those friendly units are automatically added and updated on a GPS display. Enemy forces can be marked on the map by the commander and the information is then shared to the rest of the forces within the operating area.

Radio trunking is also handled by the Hermodh Combat Network which can reduce the workload of the radio systems making it less likely that the communication channels will be swamped with traffic.

Mobility

Tires

The LMTV-4 is equipped with an automatic sealing system and an automatic tire inflation system which can be automatically activate when tire pressure reaches critical levels and also can be activated manually by the driver to ensure optimal tire pressure for any terrain. Built into the system is a flat tire warning to warn the driver when the tire has gone beyond critical levels.

Engine

The M-8300 is a 300 hp V8 diesel engine which gives the LMTV-4 an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 27hp/tonne. Despite such an economic engine, the combat range of the LMTV-4 is 650km but it has a formidable 130km/h max speed on the roads and 60km/h offroad.

Transmission

The LMTV-4 has an automatic transmission in order to keep the driver’s focus more on driving than on changing gears, allowing the vehicle to always operate in the optimal gear. With six forward gears and two reverse, the driver has plenty of speed at his disposal, which can be utilized at his discretion whilst driving cross-country.

Overview

Designed as an upgrade to their aged T-72s, the MBT-75 was perceived the cheapest option. Developing a Bjornoese designed turret based off specifications gained from sources inside the Russian Military Complex.. The original MBT-75, or the MBT-75A as it is known today, utilized the old T-72 hulls with a modified T-90 turret dropped into it. The MBT-75B was the first production variant that utilized newly built hulls and turrets based off of specifications from the reverse engineered MBT-75s.

The MBT-75 wasn’t available for sale initially due to concerns of opening themselves up to their enemies gaining information on their newly minting main battle tank. Despite these desire for secrecy, the MBT-75 was one of the worst kept secrets of the decade. Everyone and their mother had measurements and caliber of the guns. That was until Project Old Horizons that would become the MBT-75C.

The newest, and anticipated to be the last Bjornoese utilized, upgrade to the MBT-75 platform, the MBT-75C is a revolutionary design using the 125mm smoothbore cannon. Using a locally designed Combat Network System and advanced targeting computer, the MBT-75C is a technological marvel. The slight increase of weight do to additional electronics is mitigated by an improved 1,250 horsepower engine and improved suspension system.

Armament

Primary Armament

The BDI MTG-2A2 cannon is a 125mm smoothbore cannon designed to fire Russian 125mm ammunition. The 2A2 is capable of firing armour piercing fin-stabilised discarding sabot (APFSDS), high explosive anti-tank (HEAT) and high explosive fragmentation (HEF) projectiles. The ammunition for the 2A2 gun is 2-piece, in that the projectile is loaded first, followed by a separate propellant charge.

Secondary Armament

The MBT-75 is equipped with a coaxial MG-76, a 7.62 variant of the much larger HMG-80 mounted on the commander’s position on the tank. The choice to use the 7.62 MG was made to keep weight down inside the tank while also increasing the amount of ammunition being stored inside the tank. It is fed by an 700 round supply of ammunition.

The MG-76 is normally loaded with 7.62 Saboted light armor piercing(SLAP) rounds to better increased penetration on lightly armored vehicles. It can also be equipped with Saboted light armor piercing tracer(SLAP-T) rounds and your run-of-the-mill armor piercing rounds. For training exercises it can be loaded with plastic ammunition.

The commander of the MBT-75 is provided with a remote weapons system(Fjernbetjening Våbensystem(FVS-1)), which can mount either the TME-80 with a 150 round feed or a 30mm AGK-2 with a 100 round feed. The FVS-1 is equipped with a Thermal Imager(Orange) with auto-focus and outline, 45 degree FOV, 10x zoom, and laser rangefinder, and an uplink with the Hermodh Combat Network. The TME-80 is loaded standard with High-Explosive Incendiary/Armor Piercing(HEIAP) rounds with extra ammunition boxes kept inside the turret for quick reloading. It can also be loaded with SLAP, SLAP-T, AP, AP-T, Plastic Training rounds, and Blanks.

For Non-lethal defense and obscurant deployment, the MBT-75 has two banks of multipurpose grenade launchers(MP Granatkaster 2;MGK-2)along the turret, each capable of firing 76mm smoke, tear gas, rubber grenades. The commander can choose to fire any number of the launches via his display.

Protection

Passive

The MBT-75C turret is protected over its frontal arc by a deeply classified armor blend of steel, composite, and reactive materials. The front and side arrays are designed to be modular, facilitating faster repairs with relative ease. The hull armor consists of a rolled homogenous steel chassis with composite armor protecting the glacis plate.

Reactive

The MGK-2 grenade launcher system is the first line of defense for the MBT-75C. It is capable of launching obscurants, which block both visible and infrared(IR) light. The eight grenades can be loaded at any time in the two banks of the launchers located on either side of the turret roof. These grenades vary from smoke to hide the vehicle, flares to spoof IR targetings systems, and tear gas for Non-Lethal combat. The MGK-2 is operated by the commander who can choose which grenades will be fired, as well as how many to fire in order to maximize the safety of the tank and her crew.

Alfa-6 Explosive Reactive Armor, or better known as ERA, is an integral part of the MBT-75’s defensive suite. Proven to be highly effective and during the Norwegian War, Alfa-6 brings tank defense into the modern age. On attack by a penetrating weapon, the explosive detonates, forcibly driving the metal plates apart to damage the penetrator. Against a shaped charge, the projected plates disrupt the metallic jet penetrator, effectively providing a greater path-length of material to be penetrated. Against a long rod penetrator, the projected plates serve to deflect and break up the rod. These ERA blocks are situated along the turret front. Together with the passive armor they provide resistance up to 125mm along the front 30 degree arc.

The MBT-75 is equipped with a fire suppression system in the event that it is penetrated by a warhead so that the subsequent the fire can be controlled in a matter of seconds, increasing the survivability of the crew ten fold. Fire detection sensors within the crew and the engine compartments are slaved to a HFC-227ea fire suppression system, which is capable of suppressing flames within a matter of seconds. The HFC-227ea fire suppression system is designed so that while it is recommended immediate evacuation, the crew can stay within the armored tank longer than one would be able to with conventional Halon systems.

Electronics

FCS

Jarngrímr FCS (Laser Rangefinder, Thermographic Camera, speed/distance/accuracy calculator for fast, accurate shots on the move, Multiple Target Lock-ons for dealing with multiple targets)

The Jarngrímr Fire Control System is a marriage of the gunner’s primary sight, back up sight, Commander’s independent thermal viewer, muzzle reference system, laser rangefinder, and a meteorological sensor. it uses solid state processing to minimize weight while also maximizing the response time while limiting the power consumed from the engines.

The Gunner sighting system integrates a daylight and infrared sight, both are capable of 3x, 10, 20x zoom. The gunner interacts with his via controls on the yoke. The zoom level is indicated by a heads up display as well as the round currently loaded into the gun and the distance to the target. The FCS uses the meteorological sensor to automatically detect windage and humidity while accounting for barrel droop reported by the muzzle reference sensor. A laser rangefinder, eye-safe, then finds the range to the target which prompts the gun to automatically elevate to the appropriate angle. The Automatic tracking system then begins calculating the MBT-75’s movement, the target’s movement and adjusts accordingly increasing the number of accurate shots on target even while moving. While the gunner is engaging targets the commander acts as a spotter, locking on to additional targets. The targets are fed into the FCS allowing for the next target to be selected by the gunner using a set of controls on the yoke.

Mobility

Engine

BDI 12-125 is transversally-mounted, four stroke, 12 cylinder multifuel engine with water cooling and electronic controls. It has direct fuel injection, twin turbochargers, and an electronic monitoring and control system.

Transmission

The BDI ATT-12 is a compact hydromechanical power shift, reversing and steering transmission with six forward and two reverse gears built to work with transversally-mounted engines. Operation is fully and semi-automatic and the transmission can be mounted to the engine directly or via a connecting component. Mechanical brakes are built on to the output shafts which are transverse to the input. Controls consist of an electric remote control for gearshifting and reversing; mechanical actuation of steering, service brake and emergency drive second gear forward and reverse when the current fails. Power take-off is from the two cooling fans.

[box]Overview

The Modular Weapon System .308 and .338 were designed in early 2012 to act as a modular weapon for a quick reaction force being proposed to the Ministry of Defense. Despite the Ministry shutting the Quick-Reaction force down, citing funding issues and a lack of a need for a quick reaction force when there is already a regiment on permanent readiness for deployment in hot zones, the Small Arms division of BDI continued to develop the firearm for sale to foreign militaries.

Features

Top executives of BDI felt that the Bjornoese Military needed a standard rifle for a Quick Reaction Force being voted upon in the Ministry of Defense. The proposers had contacted BDI with a list of requirements for the rifle that would need to be met if the proposal were to pass the Ministry.

The first was the ability to quickly change from a 7.62x51mm chambered Battle Rifle to a 8.6mmx70mm chambered long-range sniper rifle. A user with the appropriate training can change from a battle rifle to sniper variant, or vice versa, in under fifteen minutes using specialized tools in a stable environment, it is not recommended that an operator performs this change in the field as particles and dust can cause fouling with the action.

The Modular Weapon System Battle Rifle Variant(MW-BV) is designed to be accurate while hard hitting. A relatively low fire-rate combined with a heavy round performs these requirements admirably. With the ambidextrous thumb operated fire selector, the operator is capable of switching from safe to single to automatic fire with a simple flick of their thumb. For quick magazine detachment, an ambidextrous magazine release switch is located just behind the magazine well intended to be used with the index finger. After converting to the Modular Weapon System Sniper Variant(MW-SV), the fire selector will be used to put the weapon in safe mode or single fire, the fully automatic selection is locked out. The MW-BV is capable of reaching out to 700 meters easily while the MW-SV is capable of hitting just shy of two thousand meters.

The MW-BV System is fed by a 20 round detachable box magazine while the MW-SV variant is fed by 5 round detachable box magazines. As of now, the MW magazines are the only magazine recommended to be operated with the MW System. Use of non-standard magazines could void any additional warranties you have purchased and cause failure to feeds among other issues with the systems. The internals of the MW System’s magazines can be changed to cater to either the 7.62x51mm or the 8.6x70mm rounds by a trained technician cutting cost on purchasing magazines. The MW-BV system features a rail along the top of the upper receiver to mount optics, either side of the forward receiver to mount laser designators or illuminators and along the bottom to mount forward assist grips and other stabilizing devices(See bipods).

The MW-BV System is capable of being mounted with an yet to be publicly release 40mm grenade launcher designed by BDI. BDI Small Arms Division will modify existing stock of M203 40mm grenade launchers free of charge until approval for the release of the MW-BV Launcher is granted by the Ministry of Defense.

To HRH Prince David-Tel Winternitz,
First off, let me personally apologize for the late reply. A computer error caused a massive data dump and your order was temporarily misplaced. For the inconvenience we will be knocking a portion of your bill off to accommodate such a late confirmation of the order. The Greater Zionite Kingdom order has been filed and authorized by Bjornoese Defense Industries. Your purchase will be delivered via SHIP once the requested items have been manufactured and tested to insure Bjornoese Export standards. An amount totaling 110,000,000 will be deducted from your account upon delivery. We hope Bjornoese Defense Industries meets the standards for the The Greater Zionite Kingdomand that you continue to choose us for all your armament needs.

Signed,
Einar Ruona
