Liberty City. A great place to visit.
An even better place to leave.
Overview

Francis International Airport (IATA : FIA, IACO : LFIA) an international airport located in Jacobs, Dukes, in the most eastern portion of Liberty City. It is about 12 miles east of Algonquin Island or 2 hours drive when factoring in the city's horrible traffic. Francis International Airport is operated by the Port Authority of Liberty City and Alderney, which manages the three other major airports in the Liberty metropolitan area and Alderney City Airport.

It is the busiest international air passenger gateway in the United States, handling more international traffic than any other airport in North America. It is also the third-leading freight gateway to the country by value of shipments. In 2014, the airport handled 53,254,362 passengers, making it the single busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic. As if the people of Liberty didn't need their ego stroked...

Over 90 airlines operate out of FIA. It is the base of operations for FlyUS Airlines and is a major international gateway hub for AirEmu Airlines and Adios Air Lines. It is one of only three airports in North America, the other two being Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Los Santos International Airport (LSX), with scheduled direct flights to all six inhabited continents.

Infrastructure of Francis International

Image
View of the runways through the control tower. You can see
the polluted, grey ocean surrounding the broken, grey tarmac.
A sea of grey, just like the rest of Liberty.
The airport consists of four runways, two parallel to one another, one pair facing the north-western side used for small business jets and two on its south-eastern side used for large commercial aircraft. The exterior of the airport, where the entrance to the main terminals are located, can be found west of the runways. NOTE: The Port Authorite of Liberty and Alderney is tirelessly working to commission extensions of the main runaways to accommodate the ever increasing amount of air traffic coming to Liberty.

The U-shaped road in front of the airport comes from the Broker-Dukes Expressway and pass through all the 6 main airport terminals and two large accessible parking garages. The control tower is located in front of both garages on top of terminal 4 building. Also centred near the parking garages and the aforementioned buildings is an exterior parking lot with the world famous "Kites in the wind" statue, depicting two AT-400-like airliners dancing around one another. The world class Opium Nights and Von Crastenburg hotels can be found north of the terminal roads.

The cargo bay of the airport is located in the south west section of the complex, left of the private jets runway. It includes multiple unit loading devices stacked up together and a small storage building hired to various shipping companies. Various checkpoints guarded by special LCPD units are also used to ensure the airport is safe from any disastrous attack of incident. We also keep scrapped jets remnants within this area as a training prop for firemen stationed near the airport, west of the airport complex. There is also a radar tower near the building overlooking the whole complex and all flights that leave and enter the airport.

Entering and leaving the Airport

Image
Map of the Liberty subway system. Taking the Red
Broker line takes you to Algonquin. Taking the Green Broker
Line takes you to places you do not want to go to.
The Broker Line runs through the Francis International Airport station, providing arrivals to the city with quick travel to the rest of the city and departures easy and convenient access to the airport assuming you do not mind being put armpit to armpit against a racist senile man trying to smell you and a very shaky meth dealer clawing at his skin.

From the road, the most convenient access to the Airport is offered by expressway exits. Both the Broker-Dukes Expressway and the Algonquin-Dukes Expressway possess exits to FIA which will pit you against your patience as you crawl across the Highway. There is also an access road from Willis; this can be reached from Tudor Street if you don't want to deal with the traffic and do not mind driving in streets in due need of repair.

Security

Image
Looks like somebody broke the rules. That dog is going to
probably be turned into a bleeder burger.
Despite the fact that we operate the airport upon infrastructure that hasn't been deemed inspected properly in the last 15 years, at Francis International we are dedicated in maintaining the safety and security or our many passengers and the nations they travel to and from. This is heavily reflected in our dedication in standing for all the regulations detailed in President Lawton's JINGOISM Act to prevent another terrorist attack from rocking Liberty City ever again. These new measures have proven to be effective for a single reason. If the terrorists hate our freedom, and we shed our freedom away, the terrorists can't hate us anymore. It is a proven fact. Here are some of the standards you will be subjectd to below.

All travellers must pass metal detectors, any single positive reading will have to taken to law enforcement immediately.
All luggage and carried items must be shown before an officer who can seize any item he deems could pose a "security risk".
Invasive inspection of luggage, frisks and cavity searches are carried out on passengers deemed "high risk". To see if you are prone to such treatment, check if your skin is darker than the average caucasian person.

And here is a list of prohibited items that cannot ever be brought to or from the airport. Offenders of these rules will be handed over to the FIB to be dealt with. We are not in liberty to say how they will, but lets say the JINGOISM Act expanded their powers considerably.

All manner of firearms, sharp weapons and bludgeoning weapons.
Blades longer than 4 inches.
Liquid containers of more than 5 oz (This was brought into effect during the incident of '96, where a man took an entire plane hostage and diverted it to Cuba with a container about 6 oz)
All forms of pets.
All drugs, regardless whether it is street made crack or prescription diabetic medicine.
All types of DIY tools (This was done to prevent an incident like the eye gougings in Flight 534 occurring in the future)
All computing devices, as their mere presence can shut down all vital plane systems because ... reasons.

Terminal gate Information

Francis International Airport had in the past kept 8 terminals operational, however the development of the Francis Expansion program by Liberty City Port Authority means terminal 3 & 6 has been shut down while terminal 2 & 4 will be greatly expanded. So the airport maintains 6 fully-operational terminals in the present. Each is constructed with 25 individual gates except for No.4, which in accordance to the Francis expansion program has now 40 working gates and is slated to have more in the future. Terminal 7 is reserved for regional flights while Terminal 8 is dedicated to domestic and regional flights, leaving all others being reserved for housing International flights. Like the sticky glue, we hold everything
together no matter how far they are.
Being the self proclaimed capital of the universe, we offer destinations that spans not only across continents, but also galaxies and dimensions. How the hell do the aliens come here? Whomever it may concern,

Allow me to introduce myself: I am Arnold Böhler, Destiny Airlines’ Business Executive. I am responsible for administrating communication between different international companies, to answer letters from both our customers and other companies and I am also responsible for the establishment, proposal and authorization of different types of partnerships. As a part of the airline’s executive team, I work closely with the president, chief executive officer and chief operations officer of the airline, to maintain a high standard of leadership and accountability.

Destiny Airlines would like to formally propose the commencement of route operations to Liberty and Alderney via Francis International Airport in Liberty City. After careful consideration with members of the executive board and thorough review of Francis International Airport, Destiny Airlines has decided that it would be an excellent new destination. A fully-completed version of the application form provided has been enclosed with this letter. Should our request be accepted, routes between Raedburg and Los Angeles in the U.S. and Francis International Airport will commence in fourteen days which will allow us to furnish our gates to the standards of Destiny Airlines and finalize this deal. Good luck for the future.

APPLICATION ACCEPTANCE LETTER

To: Mr Jacob Kavakosi, the Legion Corporation
From: Port Authority of Liberty and Alderney FIA division
Date: 22/04/15

We are happy to see that the overbearing Legion Corporation had finally realised that maybe it is a good idea to set up stores in the busiest airport in the world. Who woulda thunk it, eh? The seller of overvalued expired grape juice (Winery), the giant megamart that is the bane of small businesses everywhere (Supermarkets) and the retailer for the dangerously untested chemicals with more side effects than drinking nuclear waste (Pharmaceuticals) are all accepted. We will start refurbishing Terminals 1,4 & 5 to form your first brick and mortar stores within Francis International.

I am sorry to say though that the Pegasus Petrol company and Legion Insurances will not have their requests processed by the airport. Lets just say that the Bank of Liberty and Ron Oil have connections to the Ancelotti crime Family, and no one here willing to get a blowtorch to the balls. Seriously, please burn this letter when your done, we don't need them here!

Francis International is always looking to accept flights from many parts of the world to further consolidate our position as the global hegemony's capital (D.C. withstanding) and the willingness of Atlantic Air to run flights from Francis International Airport to Lesser Antilles International Airport is welcomed by the Port Authority. Please allow 4 weeks for us to refurbish the terminals to best suit your airline's fleet type.

You guys got a Los Santos too?! Hell, you guys even have a state called San Andreas. My better judgement calls bullshit on this but since I'm too lazy to do shit, we will still have Pambudian Airlines run flights from Francis International Airport to Pambulos Santos International Airport (That is what we will call the city just for convenience sakes). Please allow 4 weeks for us to refurbish the terminals to best suit your airline's fleet type.

The Port Authority is happy to see that a a private military company is willing to offer heightened security standards for our facilities while helping us stay afloat with our ever shrinking budgets being used to instead fund bailouts to banks or to fight more wars. Also, we are very intrigued of this "Standby" contract, it seems to be the most efficient way of achieving safety for the airport and its passengers. Please outline any change you want to the airport infrastructure, we will have it done in 2 weeks.
