Choushino's Traditional Shartya'a Cuisine

Postby Spartianus » Sat Jun 21, 2014 10:10 pm

Bringing people together since 1537

Choushino's is a family run chain of coffee houses and restaurants which bring homestyle Sharyta'a cuisine, family style dining, and piping hot Shartya'a coffee to your neighborhood. Operating both large, family friendly restaurants and traditional corner coffee shops, Choushino's aims to give you the distinct get-together you crave, not a one-size fits-all fast food joint.

Image

Choushino's resolves to build familiar place for the special things in life. A friendly restaurant for a family. The coffee shop which always has a table for you and your friends. The cozy bar to slouch into after a long day of work. Whatever you need, Choushino's wants to be there. Internationally, Choushino's intends to bring the exotic cuisine and culture of the Erishad peninsula to each and every community. No matter how cold or distant, the froth of a Shartya'a coffee and a plate of manti are only a dinner away.

Following the unification of the Shartya'a kingdoms in the late fifteenth century, powerful families often opened estates to the public to serve as restaurants and headquarters. The Choushino family in particular founded their family estate in Ashur in 1537, and it has remained a place for community gathering ever since. The importance of the quintessential Shartya'a coffee shop as a meeting place both for families and political groups continued into the eighteenth century and the rise of industry in the country.

The Choushino family's plantation became the source of many of the restaurant's foodstuffs and, in 1862, the Choushino family opened three other locations throughout the country both to assert presence and to popularize their specific preparation of coffee. Following the great success of the restaurant chain, Choushino's, as the company was finally registered, continued to spread throughout Spartianus to the present day. Finally, the company is taking to the international market.

Choushino's restaurants aim to retain traditional Shartya'a style

Choushino's has two basic store models. The first and most popular is the traditional corner coffee shop. The coffee shops are small storefronts which brew Shartya'a style coffee fresh for each and every customer with a complimentary chocolate stick for each cup. Baked goods are also commonly provided at these locations, though alcohol and "cooked" goods including meat, eggs, and soup are not available. Going into a Choushino's coffee shop for the first time may be a daunting experience, even for the most veteran of coffee connoisseur. Ordering a latte or a mocha will very often get a chuckle out of the employee, as Shartya'a coffee is brewed in small, copper containers called cevez. Grounds are not separated from the coffee, and it is served in small espresso cups with a glass of ice cold water to cool excited palettes. Shartya'a coffee may be exotic to some, but we here at Choushino's believe, once you go Shartya'a, you can't go back!

Image
Some larger locations install Bocce Ball courts for patrons to use while food is being prepared

Restaurant locations have all that coffee shops have to offer and more. Bars, as well as booth seating, and often Bocce Ball courts, are just a few of the extra embelishments given to full-fledged Choushino's locations. The bar portion of the restaurant is, of course, off limits to those below the drinking age of the country in which said restaurant is located. Choushino's restaurants aim to give the full Shartya'a dining experience, allowing customers to stay at their table through multiple meals if they so wish, and often provided complimentary snacks and appetizers to customers who make a good impression. Knowing the limitations of the urban and modern world, however, Choushino's locations are also prepared to give quick dining options, though delivery is out of the question. Full restaurants may also be reserved for private parties or speical occasions such as wedding receptions, political rallies, or bar mitzvahs.

Click below for a full list of international Choushino's locations (Listed by date of opening):

Other than the cultivation of coffee and fruits, whose cultivation Choushino's prides itself on, Choushino's promises to uphold the use of fresh, local produce in our international locations. Always using fresh meat and vegetables, along with only in-season herbs and fruits, Choushino's intends not only to benefit the community it serves with good food, but also healthy choices which benefit the local economy. Because of this, Choushino's means to show it's intention not only to serve the local community, but also to be a part of it's family.

Name of nation: Fvaarniimar
Type of stores: [x] Coffee Shop [] Restaurant
Number of stores (If both types requested, please identify the number of each): 5- 2 in Esine, others in locations of your choice. Amount may be increased if this works out; the reverse is true as well.
Suggestions to make each location feel like home: First, and most importantly, NO RED ANYWHERE (yes, this jncludes the food and drinks. Brownish-red should be tinted with yellow dye; we have a grass which produces an inoffensive if impermanent dye and will provide you with such free for as long as your shops are here. Actual red is not considered fixable in such a manner, and should not be used. ) The color has extremely negative associations and is typically considered taboo. Copper is a little iffy to use for this reason, but should be alright. Colors which would be wise to incorporate are brown (fertility/soil/similar), orange (youth/newness), and green (the country/patriotism). Attached is a pamphlet with additional details; see bottom.

Second, wherever you can incorporate prime numbers, such as in number of tables, do so, and if the digits of the numbers concerned add up to 5 in base 5 (while still being primes), that's even better. Leading up to point 3-

If any nonnatives are employed at any such shop, ensure that they have a thorough understanding of base 5, and a basic understanding of Fvaarniimarn language and customs as well as fluency in a language spoken fluently by an employee fluent in Fvaarniimarn. To the end of promoting such understanding we give you the link to our Internet site, also at the bottom.

Use of natural/organic building materials and/or mud is common, but other materials (while they will require Iifveerfvaardakuu approval) are fine as well.

Finally, while importing what is needed to produce cultural dishes is fine, it is requested that you experiment with native ingredients.

Note that your shop may at any time be visited by Iifveerfvaardakuu members; this is very unlikely to be for the purpose of scaring you or enforcing anything, instead it is to serve as a teaching aid and practice. Members of these parties may buy food, but are not required to do so. Such parties will try not to come at times when you are unlikely to have room.

The color pamphlet:
http://www.nationstates.net/nation=fvaa ... /id=196564

The website:http://www.nationstates.net/nation=fvaarniimar/detail=factbook
((Note that Fvaarniimar is MT era at this point. It can be played almost anywhere in its history, but you know nothing after 1530s FV. Also, things stated not to be known in universe are definitely not ones your characters can find out!))
Come to the light side.  We have teamwork, waffles, popcorn, grape juice, and way too much ramen.

Unless one is a genealogist, therapist, geneticist, or FBI agent - who is acting within the scope of their job - to claim that anyone is wrong about their own identity is not merely absurd but also extremely rude.

Te Whanganui-a-Tara (English: Wellington) is the capital city and one of the four constituent states of Yohannes. With a population of 1.7 million [OOC: using population cap], Te Whanganui-a-Tara is the most populous city, urban area, and state of the Kingdom.

Located in the northern coast of the nation, facing the continent of Alisna to the north, the capital city is the economic centre of Yohannes. The city-state is home to various large businesses in the Kingdom: such as both the Bank of Yohannes and RBSG Group, ensuring the city's position as a multiregional financial & banking as well as thriving shipbuilding centre. It is also home to multiple branches of some of the largest GE&T index-listed foreign multinational companies operating throughout the Kingdom, such as CuppaCoffee, Maritime Imperial and VLT.

As the governing body of the city and state, hereby our Chamber of Commerce - in full representation of the amalgamated Te Whanganui-a-Tara City & Regional [Supercity] Council and Te Whanganui-a-Tara Chamber of Commerce - would like to invite Choushino's Traditional Shartya'a Cuisine to expand - open its branches or perhaps foreign offices and distribution centres, etc. - in the capital city of the Kingdom.

We here at Choushino's thank you for your consideration. The company will certainly apply for an import license to bring the people of Jinwoy the best coffee they'll ever have. As per concerns about culture shock, we assure you that each and every Choushino's location aims to build a restaurant which not only represents Shartya'a culture, but also acts as a home for the community it serves. Expect no belly dancers in your local Choushino's location. Furthermore, did you mean 19 of each type of location per city or something else which I am unable to discern at this point? We look forward to serving you soon!

We here at Choushino's thank you for your consideration. Being so highly considered by a prestigious international airport was certainly not expected so early, especially not with four locations on a first contract. While we certainly intend to open these locations within the airport, I myself am wondering whether Globus, being such a popular tourist destination, has the agriculture sector to support the fresh foods required by Choushino's locations. If this is not possible, we can certainly import from other locations, but we always look for the freshest ingredients. You may get back to me at this same address. We are eternally grateful for the watchful eye of the neighbor of our homeland, Tiathon, and we will certainly go above and beyond to build the best coffee shop chain we can. Since Tiathon is a neighbor, we were also wondering whether we might bring in Shartya'a employees as well. Please get back to me if you wish at this address. We look forward to serving you soon!

We apologize for the late response by the company. Many were received during out-of-office hours, and we have done our best to sort through the incredible interest. Thank you for supporting Choushino's!

Representatives of Choushino's,
Your consideration is respected greatly. Although Fvaarniimar reserves the right to impose fees for licenses in general, the right is also held to waive such fees; in this case they are waived. We request that the restaurant concerned be located in Esine. If you would like to meet with someone to discuss a site, such may be arranged.
Most Sincerely,

Come to the light side.  We have teamwork, waffles, popcorn, grape juice, and way too much ramen.

We look forward to serving you soon!

Thank you for your hasty reply and choosing to open inside Merridell International Airport. Because of our massive environmental budget and strict environmental protection policies, we have a great agriculture sector in the province of Cordale that would suit your needs for fresh foods. We look forward to seeing you soon.

To the representatives of Choushino's,

Please consider our bid to place your restaurant in locations around Polarixe. 3 restaurants and 13 coffee shops would be located in the capital Saint Patricksburg, with a further 3 restaurants and 6 coffee shops in Duvljevsk, as there is significant demand for international cuisine in these two cities.

Name of nation: Empire of Polarixe
Type of stores: [X] Coffee Shop [X] Restaurant
Number of stores (If both types requested, please identify the number of each):16 restaurants; 45 coffee shops
Suggestions to make each location feel like home: As a suggestion, we would like to suggest that Choushino's add some traditional Polan dishes (like Česnicki Paň, Blini, Pirožok, and the ubiquitous Bòršč) As always, these traditional dishes from Polarixe could be given a Sharyta'a flair.

Greeting to you Mr. Manu,

I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to you and your company. Before my days of being the Prime Minister I have had much ability to travel the great and wide world, allowing me to see much more then the average citizen of my country. The reason for that was because of my fathers and others like him trying to prevent the influx of new ideas and cultures. This narrow minded view has been adopted by many in our country and has caused them to shun the outside world. So I sought out the world and all its splendors and horrors to make sure nothing was forgotten.

Since my victory in parliament, I have worked hard to help my people overcome this xenophobic tendencies, allowing my country to have a booming tourist industry. Its a daunting process but I must say I would like to get your help. I would like to personally invest in your company with the express purpose of bring your restaurants and coffee houses to the people of my country. I had the pleasure to enjoy your facilities personally some time back and I must say that it is with much joy that I am contacting you this day.

I,on behalf of the Silvian people and Olander Industries, would like to invite you to open restaurant in every major metropolitan city and at least double that number of coffee houses to be opened over the next 3 years. To give you the appropriate figures it would be roughly 18 Restaurants and over 34 Coffee houses to start with. In a show of good faith, anything that would be imported through Olander Industries for your need of operation will be done at cost for 5 years. Second, any staff that you wish to be brought over to manage the operation will have there moving expenses paid for by my company. Lastly, I wish to expand the offer by covering rent and taxes for a year on each new establishment or the construction of a new building.

If you wish to negotiate, I am open to discussion and hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

We here at Choushino's thank you for your consideration. This is quite a generous offer you have provided for the company, mister Olander. We cannot, however, accept it on the terms you have provided for us. The invitation itself is more that we could hope for, and we would feel more comfortable paying for our own business in your nation. We do hope that we can work more closely with Olander Industries and the government of Silverfield in the future, though. Furthermore, you may in the future refer to me as Miss Manu, or take things up with my boss Mister Choushino. We look forward to serving you soon!
