Merridell International Airport is the primary airport serving Merridell, Globus. It is owned by the City of Merridell and managed by James B. Anderson and Paul M. Clement. The airport is located 5 miles Northeast of the capital city. Meridell International Airport is the largest airport in the country of Globus, taking in about 225,000 flights and 25,500,000 passengers a year and employs an estimated 12,000 people. It covers 2,400 acres and has 4 runways which are all asphalt. The distinctive, modern air control tower is nearly 14 stories tall and is a local landmark with its unique design. The airport handles most of the countries international traffic, due to the fact that Merridell is the largest tourist attraction for people out of country and most people who fly in or out of the country travel through this airport. MRR has 3 terminals and 6 concourses. The terminals are named the North terminal, the South terminal and the Central terminal. The Concourses are lettered D through J, excluding I.

With over 3500 cameras monitored by a staff of 50 employees and a facial and threat recognition system, any threats are immediately taken care of. This is the same technology used in Merridell, called Merridell Intelligence and Data Agency or MIDA, which has eradicated crime in the city. Another great security feature are the speedy security checkpoints. No longer do travellers need to take of their shoes, or had their naked body seen on a body scanner by a security agent. Our systems allow travellers to just practically walk through the security checkpoint while it scans for potential threats.

Getting to and from the airport, and getting around the airport is a breeze with our fantastic transportation system. Within the airport, there are numerous moving walkways that may be used to get you around the airport. Merridell International Airport has a monorail that runs through every terminal.You are guaranteed to wait no more than 2 minutes for a train to arrive at any station in any terminal. Outside the airport, there is the metro system which includes the subway and buses, and the private sector of taxis. Our subway is newer, cleaner and faster than any subway you've seen before, and same can be said about our punctual bus system. You'll be glad to know that our buses are 100% electric, nearly eliminating their impact on the enviroment.
