South Seas Soda Company has been handcrafting traditional and tropical sodas since 1874, and we have kept our business plan simple from day one. We've kept our strategy the same for 140 years. We offer delicious, hand crafted sodas made from all natural, organic ingredients, and we wouldn't serve any soda that didn't meet the highest of standards. Keeping with the all natural theme, all of our sodas are sweetened only with pure cane sugar or other ingredients such as honey or molasses, and never with artificial or processed sweeteners or high fructose corn syrup. Our unique recipes have been refined by our flavor creation chefs through numerous brew processes, tweaking ratios until the flavors are fantastically blended. Each flavor is distinctly recognizable and plays into the complete flavor package in stunning combinations even better than those found singularly in nature.

South Seas Soda Company was founded in 1874 by Percival Houghton, an Australian pharmacist who had relocated to the islands of Costa Aluria. Houghton had heard the reports of effervescent beverages being concocted in other parts of the western world and believed there to be a market for such novelty drinks within Costa Alura, where tourists frequently came for their sunny holidays.

Desiring to cater to this tourist market who may have had the pleasure of drinking such beverages, and wishing to introduce bubbly beverages to locals who had otherwise been left in soda limbo, Houghton set out to order such beverages. His attempts were met with no avail. Houghton received a small shipment from a supplier half a world away, and to his dismay, the carbonation in the bottles had lost its fizz as technology in his time period did not allow for timely transport or the ability for a bottle to hold pressure for long periods of time. Devastated, Houghton hatched a new plan.

He would have to concoct his own beverages. Using his pharmaceutical knowledge, he worked feverishly, taking fruits and plants grown locally and reducing them down to a myriad of syrups. To these he added natural mineral water harvested from springs within the islands to give that effervescent fizz. This mineral water was bottled for future use in glass bottles purchased from the nearest glassworks, Hollister & Co. out of Honolulu. Through many trials and many “close but not perfect” recipes Houghton perfected his craft, meticulously penning the ratios in a journal he kept stowed away at his desk. Finally, Houghton had enough recipes to open, and started South Seas Soda Company with the vision to “offer effervescent beverages made from natural mineral water to all of the South Seas islands.”

Now, in 2014, Percival's great-great-great grandson Allistair, recognizing the desire for South Seas Soda Company's portfolio of flavors worldwide, would like to bring Costa Aluria's “effervescent beverages” to an international market. South Seas Soda Company continues to use the exact recipes for our traditional sodas that were penned over one hundred years ago by Percival Houghton, and adds to our portfolio new and tropical selections with delightful appeal. South Seas Soda Company is dedicated to bringing you not only flavors you have known and loved for years, but also in introducing you to exotic flavors of the tropics. Here at South Seas Soda Company, we understand enjoyable experiences come from high craftsmanship. That is why we have never strayed from handcrafting our sodas in small batches within our soda brewery. Within our brewery, each batch of delightful soda receives a perfect blend of syrups reduced from real plants, fruits, herbs, and spices. These syrups are sweetened with pure cane sugar and other natural ingredients such as honey and molasses which highlight the true flavors of our sodas. We use real brewing kettles, just like breweries that produce alcoholic beverages, and we allow our sodas to brew for the perfect amount of time to mix all of the ingredients for an exquisite result.

South Seas Soda Company offers our handcrafted traditional and tropical sodas in real glass bottles. There is no chance of aluminum off-tastes as our sodas are filled and carbonated from brew stage directly to 16oz bottles in our adjacent bottle filling production line. While Percival Houghton carbonated his beverages with all natural mineral water harvested from springs within the islands, the carbonation method is one of the few components of the bottling procedure that has changed from the remainder of the industry. South Seas Soda Company is known for our laid back ideas of enjoying a soda in a tropical setting such as a hammock. However, we also understand that many individuals prefer to unwind in a different and more social setting. Both options are complimentary to the nature of our sodas in bringing people together for fun. Early in our history, our founder Percival Houghton sold his concoctions as part of an overall experience within his pharmacy. There, people would gather at the counter, spinning yarns about their everyday experiences. As became the phenomenon worldwide, the soda fountain became a gathering place.

Unfortunately, this aspect of community was lost to many soda companies as time progressed and the soda became more a sign of refreshment than of shared experience. Understanding this lost connection, South Seas Soda Company recently began to offer Soda Lounges to bring back the draw of people hanging out and having fun and enjoying their favorite beverage. Our soda lounges are the next logical progression from the social properties of the pharmacy soda fountain.

Our soda lounges are just that: hip places where individuals can enjoy a South Seas Soda while interacting with other like minded people. Our lounges combine aspects of encouraging fun interactions while also maintaining space for a chill atmosphere. It is common for our lounges to offer a dance floor, where established and up-and-coming music venues alike be played over the music system or can perform live for special events. In other sections of our lounges, you will find a laid back atmosphere with welcoming seating alcoves that encourage interpersonal interaction. Many times our lounges offer more specialized areas, such as a swimming pool or other feature, designed specifically to facilitate people coming together in a relaxing atmosphere. All said, our lounges are the perfect opportunity for people who want to relax in a different setting than in the hammock-on-the-beach setting for which our company is famous.

While many of our services bring a draw of their own, we take great strides to ensure that our soda lounges have an equally inviting atmosphere as our sodas do themselves. You might find a soda lounge on the rooftop of a well-known city hotel, in a beachside club district, a historic factory conversion, or any number of happening places. We even offer a version of our lounge suited directly for properties with a great amount of history with our Soda Saloons, perfect for those 100+ year old hotels looking to revitalize their businesses while remaining true to the period.

Within our soda lounges, customers are afforded a bit of creativity with their soda selections. While our mainstay 16oz bottles are always available, we also offer the ability for customers to come up with their own flavor variants. At the drink bar, our syrups are held in stainless steel containers to be mixed and carbonated upon demand by any requesting customer.

We take pride in our sodas, and offer that pride to your highest scrutiny. All of our sodas are handcrafted in small batches, and made only from all natural ingredients. Real plants, fruits, herbs, and spices are perfectly blended into syrups and sweetened only with pure cane sugar, honey, molasses, or other ingredients such as those in your kitchen; we use no high fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners that you can't pronounce. Attention: Sweet Apple Acres

South Seas Soda Company would like to thank you for the consideration of your orchard land available for use. At this time, we are reluctant to proceed with an agreement. While peaches are a need for our soda portfolio, the other crops listed as suitable fits on this site are not well represented in our soda lineup. We also have the concern that an 8 acre plot of land is a very limited amount, which would drive the projected maintenance cost to a higher rate per tree. Simply said, the costs associated with an agricultural platform are more easily defrayed with a larger plot of land where there is more need for agricultural equipment, storage, and farm hand workers.

We would be interested in a plot of land of much larger size, if one is available. However, unless a larger orchard is available, we will proceed with leasing the eight acres of orchard land you have proposed, with the intent of using all eight acres for peach cultivation.

We will reserve a portion of the harvest for distribution by local food banks.

We thank you for helping us in allowing our customers to take a soda holiday to the South Seas!

We do have a bigger plot of land available in Suni. It is however, in a rural area with few road so during the transportation of the fruits they might get bruised or break open.
This plot of land available is 19.5 acres and is available for 10.5k per acre. (As it is in a rural are, the price is lower) since Suni is far away from Ponyville, different fruits are grown here.
Strawberries-Blackberries-Bluberries-Raspberries and Apples.
If this plot of land does not suit your needs, please let us know. We will find you another one!

South Seas Soda Company would like to thank you for additional farm consideration from your nation. While we are interested in the larger field from a logistical perspective, we are also interested in its usefulness for blackberry cultivation. As you may be aware, we recently unveiled the launch of our Blackberry Plum #8 flavor. While this flavor is new, it has performed admirably on an international market, and we believe it is primed as a breakout candidate for greatly increased sales. As such, we have been looking to increase our blackberry production in anticipation of this projected surge.

If it is possible, we would like to lease both this land area, as well as the previously discussed eight acres from Sweet Apple Acres. The larger land area as discussed in this letter we intend to use for blackberry cultivation, and the smaller plot of land for harvesting peaches. As always, a portion of each harvest will be reserved for distribution by local food banks as just one of many ways South Seas Soda Company gives back to local communities.
