History of the West African Broadcasting Company

In 1911, the first radio stations were installed in Abidjan and Casablanca. The government of colonial West Africa bought out several stations and founded the WABC. In 1915, they held more than 45% of West Africa's radio. In 1914, they created the WABC Times, which was popular as it brought home coverage from the Great War. In 1920, they became the #1 news source for the West African War of Independence. In 1929, they broadcast live radio coverage of Britain's surrender. This boosted their popularity even further. In 1931, the stock market crashed, heavily damaging the private media companies, but the WABC boomed. In 1930 they had 9,000,000 papers in circulation, and in 1932, they had over 22,000,000. In 1939, the depression ended with the beginning of World War II. The industries reopened to fuel the war effort. In 1940, the WABC began covering West Africa's involvement in the war after the invasion of the Northern Territories. In 1949, the WABC became a private company. In 1950, they began to cover apartheid. In the period of Apartheid (1950-2014) the WABC was the most circulated newspaper, due to it's pro-ANRCA tendencies. However, in 1988, it was banned by the National Party. In 2012, president Frederich van Stroud unbanned the company, and new television, radio, and films came out. In 2014, we broadcasted the civil war, which is one of the reasons why foreigners intervened. Today, we deliver the WABC Times (now called the Lion Today) to over 102,000,000 West Africans.

The WABC is a 103 year old media company that is headquartered in Abidjan in the nation of West Africa. The current main channels on TV are WABCNews, WABCTV, and WABCKids.

WABCNews is a 24 hour news network that reports both national and international news.

The current main anchors for WABCN are Allahu Makard, Wilhem van der Claoud, and Jamie Peterson.

WABCTV is our main television network containing shows like My Big Fat Algerian Wedding, The Late Night Show with Jan Kirkut, and much much more!

WABCKids contains shows for children produced in our studios in Freetown, Abidjan, and Casablanca.

We hold many radio stations all over West Africa, along with the daily paper, the Lion Today.

Airplanes Crash Mid-Air

Nieuwdam - Legendardisch
A cargo plane from Federal Air-Cargo and an unidentified plane collided mid-air 12:00 PM Legendardisch Time.
The collision happened above the Angel Bay, a busy bay where ferries travel from Nieuwdam to Schurenberg, and international freight ships dock, it is also a waypoint for many airplanes.

The mid air collision was detected by several planespotters, 'Normally we watch the waterplanes, but when that ball of fire was happening in the sky i was shocked when i realized that it wasn't an waterplane.' Jan Herris, a planespotter said.
'The unknown plane, which was a commercial airplane came from the south at full speed, while the Federal Cargo plane came from the east, making it's way to Bijker Airport.' another spotter said.
'The Federal Cargo Plane would never noticed the unknown plane, it was out of their sight' he concluded.

Coastgaurd
The National Coastgaurd closed the bay as several ships, including a tour ferry went missing 'it is possible that debris from the mid-air collision landed on those missing ships' a spokesman told 'We only know that there was a family of Ghantish origin, a Luziycan businessman and a semar on the ferry, and normal day-people from legendardisch. We are trying to know the crew on the other lost ships, but we believe that they did not make it. Our condoleances goes to the families and friends who lost their loved ones.' the spokesmen ended.

Legendardisch Airspace Authority
The LAA has initiated a fullscale investigation on the crash, and has send out requests to other airliners in Esquarium to report missing planes.
The LAA didn't respond, however, they have send their condolences to the loved ones from the lost people.
President Bijker reacted shocked, and has told that the people will get help in this trauma.

Leader of al-Qaeda in Nigeria killed in firefight

ABUJA- News reports coming from the deserts of Nigeria report that Mahmoud al-Nizamey, the leader of al-Qaeda, in Nigeria, has been killed in a firefight.

West African Marines under Col. James Christiansen staged a raid on al-Nizamey's compound a mile northwest of the town of Taura.

Christiansen made only one comment, saying that 12 people were killed in the raid, all of them guards of al-Nizamey and al-Nizamey himself.
