Asena wrote:Dear Charles Cassidy, CEO of Vibrance Ocean Voyages,

The Elders of Asena graciously thank you for the pleasure to experience one of your cruise liners. The offer to include our families aboard was well-received, as we understood your intentions in making such a considerate offer. That said, we felt it necessary to decline this aspect of your offer, as we are a newly established government which does not have quite the political latitude to risk implying that a business trip is anything but. This has not weighed in on our decision, and we want to again thank you for the thoughtful offer.

Having the opportunity to observe the green practices of your staff had more of a significance in guiding us to our decision than we had anticipated. We have discussed the matter in detail, and it did not take us long to agreed that it would be in the best interest of Asena to offer a port to Vibrance Ocean Voyages and her customers. Asena would like to thank Charles Cassidy and Vibrance Ocean Voyages for their patience and understanding in this process.

We would also like to take this time to announce that Asena has been recognized as one of the top 10% eco-friendliness nations in the world, as well as one of the top 10% most popular tourist destinations in the world! We hope this will encourage even more vacationers to visit our shores.

Nation name: Asena
Port of call: Autumn City
Hemisphere: Southern
Climate: Temperate
Available on-shore activities: beaches, swimming, hiking, museums of history, nature, and art, local shopping, nature tours, and tours of the nation's capital
*Asena is making plans to open an official tourist center which will offer longer, more detailed tours of the beautiful Asenian landscape. Once we have acquired areasonable fleet of Eco-friendly tourist transportation, we will immediately inform Vibrance Ocean Voyages of the change.
Does your nation wish to supply local wines, foods, or other services?: We must graciously decline at this point in time.
Do you wish to reserve a small retail space aboard the ship for a local retailer?: We respect the consideration, however we must decline.

Vibrance Ocean Voyages is pleased to welcome Autumn City, Asena as a port of call! Autumn City will join the ports of call for the V.V.S. Countenance of the Solstice and offer an undoubtedly pristine natural environment to explore. It was Vibrance's pleasure to be of assistance during the process; we do not wish any nation to hastily enter into an agreement without understanding its full effects. We are glad to know that there are nations such as Asena who give full consideration to the environmental impact of any given industry.

Also, we would like to congratulate Asena on being recognized within the top 10% of the world for both eco-friendliness and popular tourist destinations, no small feat for a government of its young age. Vibrance Ocean Voyages hopes to help both of those categories increase even further in Asena.

Thank you for cruising with Vibrance!

Nation name: The Dominions of the Brooke Dynasty
Port of call: Kuching, Sarawak
Hemisphere: Southern
Cimate: Tropical
Available on-shore activities: Kuching, a city of over 700,000 residents, has the most vibrant nightlife and most entertainment options in the Dominions. The diverse mix of cultures present provides a wide range of Western-, Chinese-, and Malay-inspired options for cuisine, entertainment, and cultural events. The city is also home to a number of cultural and historic sites, including the Sarawak Museum, historic Fort Margherita, and the Astana Royal Palace. The city is also the hub for the local ferry network, providing access to a number of local islands, home to some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in Sarawak. Tourists remaining in port for several days can also take advantage the nearby natural parks, bird-watching in the nearby Kuching Wetlands National Park, climbing beautiful Mount Santubong, or taking a waterborne tour in search of the rare Irrawady Dolphin.
Does your nation wish to supply local wines, foods, or other services? If so, what products?: Vibrance Ocean Voyages (VOV) will agree to hire local labor wherever possible for general service positions (janitorial, catering, and other unskilled jobs) aboard all VOV vessels using Kuching as a port of call, and will enter into a contract to purchase at least 10% of all fuel used by the aforementioned vessels from the Sarawak National Petroleum Company or its subsidiaries. The right of Vibrance Ocean Voyages to conduct business within the Dominions is conditional upon the agreement to this term.
Do you wish to reserve a small retail space aboard the ship for a local retailer?: No.

Vibrance Ocean Voyages is amiable to agreeing to these terms, however we are concerned with the Dominions of Brooke Dynasty's ability to provide such services. Also, as Vibrance Ocean Voyages would be contracted to services at port, we would like to extend the contract to further services while in port. While the hiring of a percentage of localized crew is of no problem to Vibrance Ocean Voyages, the purchasing of 10% of fuel may be difficult for Sarawak National Petroleum Company to fill. As you may know, Vibrance Ocean Voyages' entire fleet has been reliant solely on biofuels since 2010, at no small cost as it is an undeniable fact that cruiseliners use a great amount of fuel. As we are uncertain of Sarawak National Petroleum Company's capacity to supply such large amounts of biofuel, we cannot say for certain whether we can enter such an agreement. Such an agreement would be considered nullified by any inadequacy by SNPC to fulfill it's obligations.

Further, Vibrance Ocean Voyages will only be contractually obligated to port responsibilities if services are reciprocated. Vibrance Ocean Voyages is committed to responsible waste management which dictates a "pack it in, pack it out" policy. In practice this means that the only thing that Vibrance ships will discharge into the ocean is pure water, and that all waste generated while on ship is disposed of in select ports. Vibrance Ocean Voyages cannot at this time agree to port contracts without an inclusion of clause that Kuching agree to manage on-shore responsibility for and purchase a percentage (10%) of on-board recyclables, and more importantly, biosolid waste for manufacture into fertilizers for garden beds, reforestation, and farmlands, which can be sold on the market for profit at Kuching's discretion.

Kuching undoubtedly is a port of high attraction for Vibrance Ocean Voyages, and we hope to be docking there shortly. Please inform us if our contractual terms are acceptable to the port of Kuching.

With respect,
Charles Cassidy, CEO, Vibrance Ocean Voyages

Available on-shore activities : The city of San Juan is a marvelous modern wonder, mixing the 21st century with the 16th Century. At the west-side we have the modern city, full of bars, theaters, attractions, and all the modern sounds that make the city up to date. At the east lies the old city of San Juan, a back-in-time relic of pure 16th Century preserved buildings and streets. From restaurants to history to beaches and festivals, the Old City will leave you begging for more. All cuisine is local foods, although there are several foreign restaurants that might bring a familiar taste for the tourists. One of our most famous attractions is our Fortress, a 3-mile long Fortress base used by the Spaniards to protect the port. Preserved exactly the same as in the 16th Century, even its cannons are functional enough for tourists to see them in action. Also don’t miss our at-seas restaurant, pirate ships where the family can sail, eat, and watch a live pirate fight right in the middle of the port sea.

Vibrance Ocean Voyages would like to announce a new port of call in the Northern hemisphere! The V.V.S. Luminance of the Aurora will dock in Iqaluit, Terran Borealis, on Frobisher Bay! We gladly welcome another port of call, especially for our guests who like to visit some colder northern climates with beautiful terrain. Iqaluit will offer a nice variety of activities not yet offered to our guests, and we can't wait to sample the Caribou Milk Mozarella and Final Frontier hard sparkling cider. Also, we are quite pleased to add a book seller to our on-board shops as this will offer a nice option to guests who would like to curl up with a good read while we are at sea; thank you Birch Bark Books Store!

On a related note, now is an excellent time to head north for a holiday. Our friends up north have reported that there has been some excellent Aurora viewing over the past ten days. An additional port of call only sweetens the deal! Thank you for crusing with Vibrance!

Attention: Management, Birch Barks Books Stores
From the desk of Charles Cassidy, CEO, Vibrance Ocean Voyages
We recently received your application to host a small retail book store aboard our ship, the V.V.S. Luminance of the Aurora which will serve a port in your home nation. We would like to extend the invitation to all of our international fleet, six ships in total. We have recently been seeking a well known book seller for our ships to give our guests additional options, especially for those who are not really intrigued by some of the more crowded on-board and in-port activities. However, our attempts at securing a book seller for this purpose have so far been unfruitful, and since we recently became aware of your company, would like to extend this invitation to your fine establishment instead.

Our ships carry upwards of 2800 guests to each port of call, and with a constantly renewing, captive audience, we believe there will be very good sales to guests who would like to relax with a book while at sea, or on-shore while at a beach, resort, spa, or other activity. In addition, Costa Aluria moved into the printing scene in the mid 1800s when missionaries set up a printing press on one of our islands. Since those days, the operations at Wycliffle Press have grown to more than just religious material and are a staple of local, fine writings. We would love if new releases from Wycliffe Press were offered in your on-board stores.

Please consider this message as a formal invitation to operate bookstores on each of our six international cruise ships. Please let us know if you would like to accept this offer. We wait patiently for your response.

With respect,
Charles Cassidy, CEO, Vibrance Ocean Voyages

From a telegram correspondence with Terran Borealis:
As we are a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to improving literacy and providing everyone with books at the fairest price for everyone and donating a profits to building libraries, bookstores, and stocking them; we will gladly open stores in your international fleet. The more books, the better. Birch Bark Books is both a manufacturer and a distributor, but we still carry smaller book publishers' books, so your local publisher is gladly accepted to supplying us with books in all of our stores, not just on the ships. The more diverse the selection, the better.
Best Wishes,
Rachel Bultimeyer,
Head of sales and marketing,
Birch Bark Books

Vibrance Ocean Voyages is pleased to announce that Birch Bark Books will be the exclusive book vendor aboard our international fleet of ships. We are excited about the opportunity this brings as it undoubtedly will appeal to a percentage of our guests who would like to curl up with a good read while at sea, or while visiting a beach, spa, or resort while on-shore. We hope the profit line from stores on our cruises goes to build many public libraries and improves literacy on a widespread level. Thank you so much for cruising with Vibrance!
