About us
Overview
We are a petroleum and natural gas company jointly owned by the governments of Kington Langley and Lolomz, specialising in both extraction and distribution. We are registered under Lolomzian company law but operate primarily from our global headquarters in Kingsmouth, Kington Langley. Led by an executive board made up of leading business members from both nations, L&K is easily one of the most efficient and effective petroleum companies active on the world market today. With control over a number of extraction sites estimated to last at least another 30 years, the long-term future of our company is secure.
Our current operations include resource extraction which forms the bulk of our domestic and international activities. However, despite this focus, L&K invests heavily in the processing of our petroleum and natural gas products following extraction which is ultimately converted into other useful fuels and resources that we offer to our international customers. Alongside both of these areas, L&K operates a vast transport network that distributes to its customers around the world via sea, air and rail.
Unlike the majority of active petroleum companies, L&K is openly dedicated to protecting the environment and operating with the consent of local communities and businesses. While we understand that it would be impossible for a company such as ours to have a neutral carbon output, we think that doing nothing is equally as ludicrous. Therefore, despite the economic risks, we constantly strive to build up a positive reputation in areas where we operate. L&K aims to advertise itself as an ethical company with a more down-to-earth outlook in regards to resource extraction and the environment.
Brief history
The first idea to form such a company came in 1993 with the discovery of large oil and gas reserves within Lolomz. Not confident enough to directly extract and distribute this new-found wealth independently, the country sought the help of Kington Langley, hoping to use its growing influence in the business world to sell these resources on the global market more effectively. Thus, with this move, L&K was born when the governments of both countries agreed to create a corporate identity for these bilateral operations. Since this event, the company has rapidly grown within both nations to become a market leader second only to the respective countries' national energy corporations.
