As a part of the modernization of The Armed Forces of Ingrids Rike, TAFIR, is whole new family of Infantry Fighting Vehicle, IFV, is under development. The main purpose is to replace the Pbv302 APC of the armoured brigades of TAFIR, but also complement it with SPAAG, Mortar carriage, Command and control vehicles, antitank vehicles as well as offer other countries the family of vehicle, thus reducing the cost for both development and construction.

Combat Vehicle 90 (CV90) represents a family of armoured combat vehicles developed by CV90 Group (formerly The Royal Armoury) of Kristdala, Ingrids rike. It is also called Stridsfordon 90 (Strf 90).
The all-welded steel hull can be upgraded with add-on armour, which protects against 30mm APFSDS (armour-piercing fin-stabilised discarding sabot) rounds.

The vehicle has a low radar, acoustic and infrared signature. A fire detection and extinguishing system is fitted and full nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) protection is provided.


The three version with will enter production for TAFIR are;


CV9040 IFV, armed with a 40mm automatic gun

CV9040 AAV, armed with 40 mm anti-aircraft gun as well as onboard radar.

CV90 Forward commande vehicle.

Other versions, such as Forward Oberservation Vehicle, Armed Recovery Vehicle, Armed Ambulance, could be build on orders. IFV version can be ordered with different weapons options like 30mm or 35mm autocannons.

The CV90 Group can now offer the 120 mm twin mortar system AMOS turret on a CV90.

It has a completly new turret armed with twin 120 mm mortar and has no ability to carry any infantry, as the troop compartment holds additional crew and mortar ammunition. The vehicle has the same specification as any other vehicle in the CV90 family.

The CV90-group is currently upgrading the M76-fleet to M20-standard. The uppgrades includes;

The 120 mm main gun L44 is uppgraded to a L55 caliber main gun.
The MTU diesel engine is replaced by a Scania TM20 V12 purposebuilt motorpackage.
Software upgrades för the computerized fire controls.
Thermage camoflage netting package reducing thermal and visual appearance.

The TAFIR has ordered about 150 uppgrades.


The M20 main battle tank

The TAFIR is uppgrading about 60 of the old Ti67 main battle tanks for three companies. The upgrades includes the same ballistic computer as in the M20 MBT, applique armour and an engine renovation. The upgraded tank, still named the Ti67, will continue to be in storage as the 777th, 888th and the 999th tank company. The units will be formed by older conscripts. the Ti67 will retain the 105 mm L7 main gun.

A prototype M76 with a 140 mm high velocity gun, a future possible uppgrade for the M20 tank.

Ingrids rike is evaluationg the South afrikan "Rooikat" armoured car. It is armed with a high velocity 76 mm man gun and up to three 7.62 mm machine guns. It can reach a top speed of 120 kph and is planned to form the backbone of the recce units of the brigades. In Ingrids rike it will have a engine make-over, new radios, a different machine gun and a liner to increase the safety of the crew.
