Australia has been blessed with an almost infinite supply of mineable resources, particullarly energy producing resources; coal, thorium, uranium etc. We are also lucky enough to be the nation with the most sunlight.
With our vast open area (7 Million+ sq km, excluding Antarctic Claim), and our population of 36 million, most of which are located on the East Coast, we also have an abundance of land, especially out west, where the minable resources are. For this reason, we can, and do, provide free land (upto sizes larger than European countries) to miners on the proviso that they give us a percentage of their resources. We then use these resources to power our power plants (we also have solar power plants in the middle of the desert). This electricity is extremely cheap to produce, so we distribute it to households and buisinesses. Since manufacturing has left our shores, in persue of third world nations where the labour is cheap, in an attempt to re-industrialise ourselves, we provide unlimited electricity to factories.

We also loan out cheap land to factory owners who are citizens, due to our abundance of space.
