Since the end of the Second Korongolese Civil War, the Unreo Provincir Marida (United Provinces Navy) has operated a wide variety of aircraft carriers. This is the unfortunate result of emergency purchases, cancelled naval redevelopment programmes and an inability to replace carriers lost in combat with a vessel of the same class. As you can imagine this is not an ideal situation, we must maintain stockpiles of spare parts for each class of carrier and our air crews cannot operate from multiple carriers without some degree of conversion training. The Seteione De Militar Detwarneng (Department of Military Development) has decided that this situation must be solved, and to achieve this we hope to purchase a single class of aircraft carrier that will replace all those currently in service. The Ministry of Defence agrees with our plan and has allocated funding. Now the only question is which class of aircraft carrier should be purchased.

We are currently interested in the His Royal Highness Toby class of fleet carriers offered by your corporation, but we have several questions which must be answered before we make an order. Firstly, with what weapons is the class armed? The specifications describe two surface to air missile weapons, but fails to elaborate further. Does this mean that the carrier is armed with only two surface to air missiles? Or does it mean that the carrier has two surface to air missile launch systems? If so, would these launchers be capable of launching the RIM-162 ESSM surface to air missile? Also, are there any close-in weapon systems installed on the class? Secondly, what sort of aircraft are intended to be operated from this class? The vast majority of Korongolese aircraft carriers currently in service are of CATOBAR configuration and a transition to STOBAR aircraft would be far too costly to warrant adopting a STOBAR carrier. Thirdly, would it be possible for this aircraft carrier to accommodate a small force of 40 marines?

If we receive satisfactory answers to all of our questions, the SDMD will purchase a single example of an His Royal Highness Toby class aircraft carrier. This will be delivered to the Development and Trials Flotilla of the UPM to undergo a series of thorough tests and trials intended to determine its effectiveness as a Korongolese warship. If this class passes these test satisfactorily, we will place a larger order at a later date.
