Tallaan Stellar Transports
Tallaan Stellar Transports is proud to present its line of affordable light space vessels for export. A company with over three hundred years experience in starship design. When most people think of a starship, of course, they think of a giant transport, or a warship two miles long bristling with advanced weaponry, or a status symbol yacht for the ultra-rich, not something the common man can own. But it doesn't have to be that way; here at Tallaan we are dedicated to putting the freedom to travel in your hands, tentacles, pseudopodia, inherent psychokenesis or other manipulating mechanism!
A note on species: All the designs shown are created for hominid species, however, if your physiology requires different environments, inquire and we will attempt to find a product to suit you.
The first of a new series of light vessels intended to provide relatively modest income families with means to access space travel, the "Interstellar Recreational Vehicle" design of the Starhome is intended to visually persuade customers of the overall user friendliness of the vehicle. The Starhome can be used by even novice (check all local licensing requirements! The manufacturer accepts no liability for pilot error or uninsured operation) pilots without significant difficulty. Containing advanced autopilot systems, all aspects of operation can in fact be automated by the powerful on-board computer, with instructions as simple as verbally specifying a destination, though use of the full control suite is strongly recommended.
Containing two main compartments in the single inhabited deck of the Starhome, there are two major design considerations:
The first, is to provide a safe, rugged and reliable vehicle, while understanding that limited or no technical proficiency may be available to maintain it in potentially adverse conditions. For this reason, almost every aspect of the ship is designed around the mantra of safety first, safety last, safety always, and the ship is built with components capable of a wide band of performance, but built around the concept of providing a steady and reliable performance at all times and in all circumstances. Enormous care and including the use of transcomputational mathematics has been taken to ensure that no single points of failure exist within the design of the ship's motive systems, life-support systems, deflectors, power systems or communications systems, to ensure as far as possible that the ship is safe against any natural hazards. When in flight, automatic hard-wired collision avoidance and threat avoidance navigation systems are always active, preventing accidental collision with any object not accelerating on a collision course toward the vessel in normal usage. Although the vessel has deflectors, users are cautioned that this is not a combat vessel, and they are primarily intended to protect against space debris.
The second design consideration of the Starhome is of course, comfort; the Starhome-class is intended to support two adults and up to two children on foldable couch-beds in the sitting area to the aft. A small kitchen area and head with integrated shower unit round out amenities, and provide a compact living experience while 'on the road.'
The Starhome, to limit its cost to market, does not contain its own navicomputer, but instead can use a pre-set pathway it downloads from an authorised content provider before making any hyperspace jump; typically they can store up to sixteen standard hyperspace jumps, allowing them a broad degree of latitude in their flight-plans, however Tallaan Stellar Transport also sells an upgrade unit for an additional $2,500 that allows it to calculate its own jumps based on navigational data.

Fig 3. Brickhead (Modular) Personnel Mover
Fig 4. Brickhead (Secure) Personnel Mover
Named for the extra reinforcement of its cockpit module, and not as some wags have suggested, its pilots, the Brickhead-class is a close cousin of the Starhome but is instead intended for short term journeys with substantial passenger loads, it is also intended to be used by larger organizations, including but not limited to, corporations and private sector actors, governments, militias, and school groups, and more. The Brickhead comes in four standard variants.
The standard Brickhead is designed to carry fifteen passengers, but it can have its chairs removed to function as a dedicated cargo lighter, its main virtue over other Brickhead models is its cost; the standard Brickhead is an immensely durable ship, intended for novice users, in the same way as the Starhome, it can be used in any number of contexts where a short duration interplanetary or interstellar transport is required.
The frontier model carries only twelve passengers, but adds additional sensors and sensor stations in the main passenger cabin, allowing explorers, colonists and prospectors to use the vessel in day to day work and excursions, and it is designed to provide a secure base for all manner of personnel against a variety of natural and environmental hazards. Despite its characteristics and armament, the Brickhead frontier model is not a combat vessel and will likely have inadequate performance against comparable mass combat ships if used as one, this is severely contraindicated.
The modular Brickhead is the most optimal variant for cargo usage; the version pictured carries a modular research unit, but more commonly they carry forty-foot equivalent unit shipping containers, or twenty foot equivalent unit containers; magnetic clamps in the reinforced topside bar, which forces the forward turret to be relocated below the trademark brick-head cockpit, allow a variety of loads to be used. Not pictured is a service hatch in the rear section and the EVA kit included with this model, should the rear section need to be occupied while the vessel is loaded with a cargo that does not allow direct passage through as this module does.
The last model of Brickhead is available only to governmental agencies of states without any history of sapient rights abuses. The secure Brickhead is intended to serve as a transport for arrested persons, convicted criminals, prisoners of war and similar; capable of carrying twenty four prisoners in a secure compartment containing force-field generators (sconces for bars to be fitted for additional security are included) and four guard posts two forward and two aft, allow prisoners to be vigilantly watched, while the navicomputer is deliberately cut-down to allow only a limited number of pre-set destinations to be reached by the vessel in the event of successful prisoner insurrection, likewise the ship is unarmed, as it is considered wiser to escort the vessel with other craft to prevent prisoners gaining armament in the event of escape.

Fig 5. Armament
Unlike other vessels in the Starhome line, the Brickhead, due to its intended roles, all variants except the secure variant, carry armament in the form of two light twin blaster turrets, forward and aft. These weapons are capable of engaging enemy spacecraft, but are not highly effective in this role; rather they are intended to be used against dangerous lifeforms and other threats while landed or performing scouting or prospecting missions; these are capable of engaging targets out to standard planetary horizons, and operate in the ten megajoule/shot range at a rate of fire of three hundred rounds per minute (combined, both barrels), both weapons can be fired independently, and have an easy to use IFF system and inbuilt sensor suite.
The Brickhead, being based on the Starhome, contains all its standard collision avoidance and other safety systems and functions similarly in terms of navigation and handling.

Lonestar-class Light Personal Transport
The third in the Starhome line, the Lonestar is essentially the Starhome with one key difference; where the Starhome is intended to be a minimum cost vessel, the Lonestar is intended to represent an affordable premium for a middle income family.
The Lonestar features the same ease of use as the Starhome, and similar safety precautions, only differing in the overall size of the vessel, and the comforts on board. All Lonestars come with full navigational computers as standard.
The lower deck is broadly similar in layout to the Starhome but can accommodate up to four bunks, and instead of a convertible couch arrangement features armchairs in its sitting area, while the upper deck contains a master bedroom with a sofa bed, an observation deck, and a fully functioning airlock unit for EVA activity.

How to Buy:
OOC: As these are civilian (mostly) products, this isn’t a regular storefront; it's not normally going to be your government buying these (though brickheads can certainly be used by governments I am not sure many governments want to buy camper vans); Basically what you do here is just post however many of my vehicles are sold in your nation per year and I’ll note that in my stats. Feel free to post reviews or other such things.
