While scavenging in the ruins of Bansua, she encounters a Kahtalupataran Army defector Kurio, (Mandrady) whom tells her that he needs her help to escape from the totalitarian grip of Kahtalupatar, the totalitarian, fascist government that rules over a majority of what used to be Guadalupador; originating from former army units from New Yama, Guadalupador, Kirishima, and stranded Cuscatlani Army soldiers. The Kahtalupataran Army is quick on their heels as they escape Bansua and head west toward the "Sea of Poison" They reach the coast, and meet an old ship hand, Andro Dumont (Andrade) whom remembers the world before it had died. he speaks of a place where greenery still grows, alleging that he had been there before, calling the place Kirishima. Excited about the possibility of living in such a fertile area, Mina wants to go, but Kurio is skeptical about Dumont's claims. Dumont offers to ferry them across the Sea of Poison on a year-long trip toward Kirishima. Kurio, with nothing to lose, then accepts the offer to Mina's happiness. For nine months, the three stock up food for the voyage. On the day of the voyage, the Kahtalupataran Army finds Dumont's settlement, and attacks. Kurio, Mina, Dumont, and the settlers put up a great defense, but are devistated when the Kahtalupataran Army brings in armored vehicles. Dumont is critically injured, and directs Kurio and Mina to escape in the boat. Dumont gives Mina the charts to Kirishima, and then blows himself up to kill incoming KA soldiers. The Movie ends with Mina and Kurio escaping by boat, westward toward the unknown.

Title: The Ruler of Blood
Producer: Kurosawa Shinzo
Director: Kurosawa Shinzo
Actors: - (animation)
Genre: Action, Drama, Fantasy
Content Rating: 15+
Nationality: Nifonese
Language: Nifonese, English

Plot Summary: " The Ruler of Blood" is set in unspecified future, after a great cataclysm has wiped out the modern civilization, greatly reducing the human population across the globe and sending it into "high tech dark age" where the entire world has basically reverted into the middle ages. The story is based on adaptation of classic Nifonese folk tale, with a lot of liberty, as part of grander "Hayabusa universe" - an in which it is estimated 2/3 of all animes in Nifon are set.

The Empire of Wajima is breaking up, and more and more lords are declaring their sovereignty from rule of Emperor Shirakawa, who slowly finds himself a puppet of a noble clan known as Soga family, which secured all most important offices in the central government and married one of their daughters to the Emperor. But their rule has been awful, allowing individual lords to gain power and wild beasts from the countryside to terrorize the human population. One of such lords, forced to devote his attention elsewhere, gives his two officers - General Kikuchi Mugen and General Satake Goemon - a task to destroy a pack of furons, being former fans of " furries ", who after the genetic enhancement technology became widespread used them to inject themselves with animal DNA, not aware that genes of the animals will destroy their humanity and turn them into savage beasts hell bent on eating and raping humans. The two generals complete their task, track down the Alpha Furon, and kill him in combat, ending the threat of furon raids.

As they return in their samurai - resembling power armors from the field of battle, they are separated from main body of their troops and loose their way into the forest, where they encounter a witch, which tells the two future - Goemon shall become supreme commander of Lord Tsugaru's forces, with Mugen as his lieutenant, and in future Satake shall take the Lord's place as well. She informs General Kikuchi that his son shall succeed Satake's reign, before disappearing into the mist. As the two generals wander about the situation, the scene shifts on General Satake's wife (Satakehime) standing upon a cauldron and talking to an Oni that "everything is going according to the plan" revealing that the witch is actually was a projection of her conjured by her occult skills.

The pair of generals return to Lord Tsugaru's base, where he proclaims that dealing with a pack of furons proven the skill of both men to lead his armies, and bestows exactly the honors the witch mentioned on them. The two are awe-struck, and now Supreme General Satake Goemon leaves to tell his wife about the meeting in the forest. Satakehime tells him that since the first part of the prophecy came true, the second part should come true as well and urges him to assassinate Lord Tsugaru and claim the title for himself. Goemon is very hesitant about this idea, but his wife constantly calls him weak, and after using several mind tricks on him - including seduction - he agrees to kill Lord Tsugaru and claim his domain for himself. Meanwhile Lord Tsugaru organizes banquet, where both generals chat with newly promoted General Otomo Motokage, a honest and virtuous man, who says that "he has a bad feeling about Satake". After the banquet Lord Tsugaru falls deeply asleep due to amount of alcohol he drunk, making it perfect time for the assassination to happen.

Satakehime wanders off to the place from where Samurai-resembling robots guarding Lord Tsugaru, using her occult powers to generate a shield of invisibility over herself. After entering to the main server room, she bewitches the soldier overseeing the controls of the robots to set them loose on the castle's inhabitants. This chaos gives General Satake a perfect chance to kill Lord Tsugaru and escape, while his wife uses suggestion power on the completely disoriented soldier to make him run towards the same exit that Goemon is using, before contacting her husband and giving him a bogus story about buying the man, informing the husband to kill him. The two meet and Satake slays the "traitor", leaving him with no chance of defending himself against the accusation.

Everyone pins the blame on the soldier in the control room, and since Satake is highest ranked person left alive, he is instantly given the title of Lord. Some suspect that he could have something to do with the incident, however lack any concentrate evidence pointing at his fault. Now Lord Satake makes his first public appearance, and since he was never able to raise children with his wife, he chooses his trusted Lieutenant Kikuchi as his successor. Meanwhile Kikuchi and Otomo have a conversation together: Otomo does not trust Satake, while Kikuchi has rather mixed feelings, torn between personal loyalty, friendship and duty to his domain.

Meanwhile Satakehime summons the oni again, who informs her of next stage of her plan: Kosuge domain will become the vehicle through which the Empire of Wajima will be reunited, and he shall impregnate her so that his descendant shall sit on the throne of Wajima as new emperor who shall unite the world under the banner of the Oni and toss Christ the Heavenly Sovereign from the skies. The screen then fades to black as Satakehime backs away crying "no, please, no..." Meanwhile Lord Satake begins to have nightmares about his deed, walking the corridors in lunacy as he tries to fight an imaginary figure of Lord Satake who charges at him with a sword.

66 days later, o calm down the mood after the tragic incident, Lord Satake throws out an enormous celebration upon which he plans to officially confirms Kikuchi as his successor. Just after he does so, Satakehime asks him on a side and reveals that she is pregnant, but does not tell her husband the origin of her child - which means that Kikuchi has now to be eliminated. Lord Satake contacts his master assassin, Raiden, to do the job, and heads to deliver a speech at the celebration. When he delivers his speech, Lord Goemon sees the figure of Lord Tsugaru walking among the crowd, before jumping on scene and showing him the wound he delivered to him. Meanwhile Raiden, in his enhanced ninja armor, strikes down and kills General Kikuchi Mugen, but his son Kikuchi Shigemori is able to wound Raiden in combat, forcing him to flee. Afraid to continue on his path, Shigemori retreats to his home. General Otomo begins to worry about strange behaviour of the current ruler and starts suspecting some form of treachery.

On the second day of celebrations even more visions happen to Lord Satake, as he sees the figure of Kikuchi with his head cut off walking around him, accusing him of his dark deeds. Current Lord tries to drown his sorrow in sake, which only accelerates the effects of the madness. Goemon starts walking around in delusion, openly proclaiming that he was the one who killed Kikuchi and will eagerly do so again, striking at a pole which he believes to be Kikuchi in his delusion. General Otomo confronts him and a sword fight ensues, but Satakehime quickly joins in. Overpowered Otomo escapes the castle, dons his power armor and swears revenge on Lord Satake.

Meanwhile after the banquet, constantly loosing his mind Goemon becomes a tyrant just as his wife wished him to be. He collectivizes agriculture, nationalizes education (to turn it into propaganda), healthcare (to make people dependent on him). Meanwhile Otomo meets Shiemori, who has managed to secure support of several lords to topple Satake. They are soon joined by Raiden, who deeply regrets his deed and wants to redeem himself. Meanwhile distrustful in their own forces, Satakehime imports several warrior - mystics such as Battle Priests of Caedas from Guadalupador, Amazons of Gloria Regis or Hatayan Duneraiders who rape multiple people and sacrifice others to their strange gods.

Still certain in the supernatural powers, Lord Satake heads to the place where he seen the witch. His wife receives from the Oni a revelation about what to tell him, and uses her occult powers to project the figure of the witch again: the witch informs Lord Satake that as long as the very trees will not rise in rebellion against him, he shall be as invincible as an oni. Now completely deformed morally, Goemon dreams only about sinking his sorrows in blood as he dons his power armor in anticipation for coming battle.

The night falls and Lord Goemon dreams a nightmare of fighting a giant tree in a sea of blood, feeling unease. Meanwhile Satakehime is contacted by the oni again, who orders her to sacrifice the two dogs she had since her childhood. Satakehime's story is now revealed, showing as she was abused by her family and the dogs were only thing that shown love for her. With last grasp of her humanity, she refuses, and the oni denies her any powers until she does it. With his presence no longer blocking her conscience, the very realization of her guilt strikes her, and she has visions of blood on her hands, blood she can not wash away.

Meanwhile Lord Satake is woken up by the cries of his guard. After asking them, the guard replies that the very trees have risen against them. Realizing that this is his final moment, Satake fails into despair, but decides to fight until the end. At the same moment Raiden de cloacks near the gate, turning off automatic defense systems and letting in Otomo in heavy power armor. The two clash, and Otomo kills Satake. Just as they think everything has ended, Satakehime with her eyes glowing red, holding two heads of her beloved dogs in her hands, emerges onto the courtyard, now fully possessed by the oni, holding an enormous pole like it was a feather.

She explains that she was the one to instigate this entire incident, belonging to ancient and secret order of occultists known as Red Dragon Society, whose task is to act as enforcers of the Oni in the political system. Their plan was to use the domain as a foothold to reconquer Miezuhuo and finally destroy it's sovereign culture, tuning it to the will of the Oni, which are very displeased that citizens of Wajima are not interested in being part of something she calls "Project Babel". Following that, a battle in which she is pinned against Raiden, Otomo and Kikuchi emerges and the three heroes finally slay the witch. With the last voice, the oni leaving her body proclaims that he will have his vengeance on Otomo.

A few months later, newly appointed Lord Kikuchi Shigemori rules the domain justly, reintroducing free enterprise and teaching the people about virtues of Heavenly Father. He asks Otomo to stay in his domain and advice him, but Otomo replies that there are likely more members of Red Dragon Society out there, and that he needs to hunt them down. Raiden volunteers to accompany him in his quest. Just as he is about to leave, Shigemori reveals that he learned the true identity of Otomo from other lords: that in fact, General Motokage is son of now deceased Emperor Genji, and thus legitimized to ending the chaos in Wajima. The camera moves on Otomo as he smiles, and leaves the room with Raiden at his side, saying the famous last line "we shall never trust witches..."
