The film takes place in a court room in Charn where the case is being tried and the incident is being seen in flashback through the perspective of four people, the alleged victim, the uncle/employer, the alleged perpetrator and the militia detective investigating the case (Malyasyr).

Initially the audience is lead to believe that Angijak's character is guilty, but as the story progresses several inconsistencies in the case against him is revealed and it begins to look increasingly like a miscarriage of justice is under way, facilitated by class prejudice and possibly bribery on account of the father of the alleged victim (Calaosto). The film ends with the judge (Mornanossë) preparing to announce her verdict.
