With the success recently of the 4 Oceanica class nuclear powered research vessels, these being Oceanica, Nord Icelandia, Nord Finlandia and Nord Greenlandia, Project Aurora wish to commission a 5th vessel in the class, again powered by twin MAGNOX type gas-cooled nuclear reactors with the ability for non-hull invasive on-load refuelling, as opposed to the traditional design of power down the reactor and cut the hull open.

Project Aurora Earthwatch will be placing a time scale of 3 years to construct the ship should the contract be awarded, however before we lay the contract down, Project Aurora wish to know if Maritime Imperial Shipwrights will be able to carry out the construction of the vessel listed below. The Osprey-class deep-sea trawler is Maritime Imperial's contribution to the Maltropian fishing industry, one of the largest in Paradoxia. It has proven to be one of the most common vessels used in blue water commercial fishing, with an unparalleled reliability and quality of design. Though having first entered into active production in 1964, the current incarnation of the Osprey bears little resemblance to the first of its line, having been continually refined based on the recommendations of our customers, people who know their trade and know what they need from a trawler. The Osprey is now, we can state with confidence, one of the finest vessels on the market.

At just under 73 metres length overall, the Osprey is built for commercial fishing, with a cargo hold large enough to hold as much as three hundred tonnes of fish. On-board freezing facilities allow the vessel to remain at sea for longer periods to take full advantage of this capacity. Processing equipment is not a component of the ship's design, however, requiring it to offload cargo to facilitate processing of its catch. The Osprey is designed to operate in tandem with a factory ship such as Maritime Imperial's Pelican-class factory stern trawler. A shipboard crane, located aft, allows easier offloading of the cargo onto a factory ship or to adjacent wharves. An additional crane is located in the bows.

Most of the vessel's machinery is located in the hull aft, leaving the bow for crew quarters and other living spaces. The Osprey is equipped with cutting-edge technology for use in the fishing industry, including sonar and radar, also boasting powerful winches for hauling in its nets.

At Maritime Imperial, we appreciate the importance of keeping transit times low to allow quotas to be reached quickly and efficiently. Therefore, the Osprey has been outfitted with an Enmar Industries DN-25 diesel engine, giving a steady and reliable source of power and providing the vessel with a top speed of 20 knots. The recommended crew size for maximum efficiency is 18, though the vessel remains operable with fewer.

Under Maltropian maritime law, we are obliged to conform with WA GAR #20, Suppress International Piracy. For this purpose, the Osprey comes equipped with a weapons locker, located in the wheelhouse, for defensive purposes, to deter pirates or other attackers. The standard purchase model of the Osprey comes with cutting-edge navigational equipment, including sonar and radar, and with all the paraphernalia obliged by its role in the fishing industry. Purchase cost, as standard, is 10 million NSD.

The Agrippa-class harbour tug is a must-have vessel for any commercial port, no matter its size or importance, for the manoeuvring of barges or larger ships in narrow waters or ports. Major ports may have as many as two dozen tugs serving them regularly. The Agrippa was first designed on commission from the Port Authority of Esrium in 1962, and quickly became the most popular harbour tug in Maltropia because of its superior manoeuvrability and power output over other models. The vessel became so iconic in the Port of Corcaigh Nua during the 1970s that it inspired a popular animated television series, Bád Tuga. Despite technical advancements in the design of the Agrippa, it retains its familiar original shape.

At just 27.8 metres overall length and beam of 7.9 metres, the Agrippa's small size makes it ideal for use in restrictive conditions, such as crowded ports or narrow canals. Fully loaded, its draught is 3.9 metres, allowing it to function normally in particularly shallow waters. Most of the vessel's limited hull space is taken up by its powerful Enmar Industries DX-75 diesel engine. This machinery, the most important aspect of the tugboat, produces 3,500 shp (3 MW) under normal operating conditions, more than sufficient to perform its tasks in towing ships and other objects. A single funnel positioned amidships carries any gaseous or particulate byproducts of the engine above the level of the wheelhouse. Modern incarnations of the Agrippa are outfitted with electrostatic precipitators in the funnel's base, removing the vast majority of dust and smoke from the outflow and minimising the vessel's environmental impact.

Propulsion comes from a ducted propeller, or Kort nozzle, in the stern. This variety of propeller is covered to provide a greater low-speed propulsive efficiency and substantially enhanced course stability; aspects which are vital in the operation of a tugboat, which benefits more from a Kort nozzle than most other ship types due to the heavy load placed on the propeller. The propeller features controllable pitch, allowing the reversal of pitch minus the need for slowing the main engines prior to engaging reverse.

The Agrippa boasts a substantial range of tugging machinery, including winches both fore and aft, as well as a bollard aft to which a hawser may be attached. Fixed fenders fore and aft are supplemented by tire-fenders to prevent the vessel from coming into abrupt physical contact with other bodies. Additionally, the vessel is equipped with a general purpose winch crane mounted on a 360° rotating base. Other paraphernalia include an air horn, mounted on the wheelhouse, to alert other watergoing craft to the tug's presence, as well as a morse lamp for communicating in the unlikely event that the vessel's radio is unusable.

Under Maltropian maritime law, we are obliged to conform with WA GAR #20, Suppress International Piracy. Allow me to introduce myself. I am the Port- Community Representative employed by Cobatex, plc; I am the intermediary body for the Ottenside Docks and Port Group (owned by Cobatex, plc), Ottenside Town Hall, and Ottenside Island Residential Forum. Working with the management of the newly finished Ottenside Port & Docks complex and the Minister for Business and Finance, it is evident that the general consensus is that Maritime Imperial setting up in Woodstead would be a great opportunity.

We have been drained, as a nation from an ocean of opportunity to more of a stagnant puddle for the up-and-coming trainee engineers. Our automobile manufacturing is no longer and a Woodstead-built ship was last built in 1938. Whilst our colleges, universities and even secondary institutions do churn out some enlightened, enthusiastic potential grand engineers, our current jobs do not reflect that. Therefore, I appeal to you today to request an opening of a shipyard on the Ottenside Port & Docks site. We have allocated frontage, if you kindly grant us permission, which could include 7 dry docks and 10 tidal berths - we can complete the shipyard free of charge, given a green light.

I personally feel this could be a great opportunity for Maritime Imperial and Woodstead's next generation of intelligent engineers/ builders. We have filled the form out.

In addition, whilst I am here, I realise that you now sell tugboats. With space to expand, I have been advised to look into the Agrippa. I am delighted to announce that it passes the standards in brief and I will be able to put an order in for this, too.
