Introduction:

Welcome to our corporate network! Lenin-Gravodsky Cybernetics Corporation is the largest arms manufacturing company in the Soviet Technocracy, one of the largest of the Technocratic Confederacy, and an international competitor on the galactic market. Our corporation manufactures primarily military equipment, from small arms, to space fighters, to military assault robots; however we do have several smaller subsidiaries devoted to civilian projects such as FTL communication relays, communications satellites, extra-terrestrial mining vehicles and medical equipment. Whatever you're looking for, you can be sure that L-G Corporation will have it.

About Us:

L-G Corporation was founded in 879 A.F. (That's 3032 A.D., for anyone who still uses that system) on October 23rd by Chairman Gregory I. Lenin and CEO Vasiliy Fedorov Gravodsky and is the thirty-third oldest corporation in the Soviet Technocracy, and fifty-ninth oldest in the Technocratic Confederacy. As of 2183 A.F., Lenin-Gravodsky Corporation controls a 39% percent market share, the highest majority share, of all things robotic and cybernetic within the Technocratic Confederacy. Currently, L-G Corporation has had a total of one-hundred eighty Chairmen (thirty-four Chairwomen) and one-hundred seventy-two CEOs in the course of it's thirteen hundred years of existence. It is currently headquartered on Ira in the Miller system, nestled between Dylar IV and Ulysses VII. The current Chairman is Miranda Davis and the current CEO is Peter Mueller.

Ordering Standards and Basic Information:

In order for your order to be accepted, several easy-to-follow guidelines necessary. First, we'd like an area to deliver our cargo safely. This means that you must include your local star system, the planet you wish for it to be delivered, the continent (if applicable) and starport. Secondly, we would like to ask that you perform your own calculations on price, which should be simple enough considering the raw power of modern computer systems used throughout the galaxy. If you do not wish, fail to do so or cannot do so, we'll be happy to accommodate this, although the total price of all your purchases will be increased by 50%. A similar policy stands for fraudulent orders, although these bring far greater consequences with a 100% increase in total price, an added "compensation tax" of 50% and possible suspension from LG's storefront network for repeated offences.

If you have any questions regarding our company's standards, upcoming products, backorders for older products or anything else, we'll be glad to address them, just ask! Our friendly and helpful staff are always around to listen to any complaints or suggestions you may have for this storefront. Please, drop us a line. ((OOC: By telegram pls.))

Write-Up

A legacy vehicle by any standard, the XG-1 prototype was first completed in 1178 A.F. and ran through it's preliminary trials later that year, competing against the XG-2 Gravitic Transport Vehicle. Within two years, the XG-1 was adopted by the Soviet Ground Forces (then called the Soviet Stellar Defence Corps), as the GU-1 "Charlemagne". The Charlemagne still serves today, after over 1,000 years since it's introduction, primarily with Planetary Guard units and base defence units of the Soviet Marine Corps. Intended as a recon vehicle for the Soviet Defence Corps, the GU-1 was slowly relegated to serving as a fast and rapid transport for patrol. It's overpowered engine and wide base has allowed entire rifle squads, as well as the driver to be transported on it with minimal flight degradation.

Armament:

The Charlemagne was originally designed to be an unarmed patrol platform, supported only by the standard infantryman's weapons. This, however, was quickly shown to be a fatal mistake, as most recon patrols were heavily underarmed against their anarchic counterparts during armed combat. Thus, a pulsed laser weapon, capable of easily killing even armored infantrymen and damaging light armoured vehicles was developed. The weapon itself is easily targetable using a helment-mounted display system which is usually built into the flight helmet (or via a cybernetic implant) and slaved to the pilot's retina. This allows for a "see-and-shoot" ability that allows the pilot of the Charlemagne to target and extinguish hostile infantrymen with ease.

The powerful 75MJ laser is also good against powered armour infantry and light vehicles, however use beyond anything except for light infantry is extremely hazardous due to the Charlemagne's nature as a light patrol/recon vehicle. The pilot lacks any sort of armour against penetrating small arms. So while it's armour was considered sufficient for it's time, it is now good for only blocking the occasional rock or dust plumes sent up by the pilot's rifle. However, recent modifications have installed so called "kinetic shields" to the base of the Charlemange, making it suitable for light skirmishing against rifle and coilgun armed infantry, as well as being capable of taking high-powered lasers.

Powerplant, Flight Characteristics and Avionics:

The Charlemagne is powered by a single EGG20 (Electrical Generator, Gravitic) drive, that is capable of producing an equivalent of 60 kilonewtons. This drive easily allows the Charlemagne to transport infantrymen (or even PA soldiers) on it's wide base, and serves to power the pulse laser as well as function as an engine for the vehicle. The flight characteristics are akin to that of most gravitic vehicles and despite it's high centre of gravity, the Charlemagne is remarkably stable, allowing for fast, level flight over almost any kind of terrain. The only problem that most pilots report with the Charlemagne is that it's throttle "is a bit touchy", and tends to accelerate a bit faster than one would expect.

Being nothing more than a hovering platform, the GU-1 lacks any sort of advanced avionics, and in their stead all aircraft controls, monitors and systems are slaved to either the inbuilt "dashboard", or the pilot's helmet. The laser, however, is always automatically slaved to the pilot's HUD and helmet, allowing for rapid targeting. This means that anyone who lacks a networkable uniform is unable to utilise the Charlemagne's pulse laser. While this can be seen as a tactical decision to ensure that the pilot always maintains control over the laser's targets, this was actually made so that the anarchist forces who were constantly battling government units during the GU-1s time would be unable to use it's powerful (for the time) weapon against Technocratic soldiers.
