The dietary requirements would be ideally fish and chicken based. While each part of the Federation has their own preferred diet most traditional dishes include fish and chicken due to the massive coast lines and smaller farms around the Federation. They are often spiced with curry or Teriyaki in Aqua Anu, as opposed to being cooked with Cajun Seasonings or Cumin in the more Hispanic regions. Rice and beans are predominate dishes in many regions, and with inter Federation trading, it is not uncommon to see Mokan-Style rice and beans being sold next to Nuevo Orleans-Style dirty rice and fried/white rice in markets. The exception being the Wellovians, who have a heavy grain, dairy and beef diet, as well as a collection of some of the best cheese varieties in the Federation.

Traditional Mokan Hispanic dining sets the largest meal at lunch, typically with a rice or tortilla, vegetables and protein, such as meat or beans. Sides often include salsa and additional seasonings to spice to preferred taste. Aquarians and Wellovians have the heaviest meal at the end of the day, with Aquarians having rice based dishes for most meals. Wellovian meals might include hamburgers with lettuce and tomatoes, fried chicken, or Steak if money is no object. Due to the lack of adequate farming land in Wellovia, rice has often been replaced by potatoes and wheat.

As the people are used to being on rationing, the diet is based on very simple and productive foods. As it gets very boring and bland for these reasons, it tends to be high in salt or sugar to make it taste better. The hard work and vicious fighting of the past made the diet increasingly high in nutrients. Food that is taken as sweet or salty by others isn't even considered such here, as the diet is loaded with both now. "Fancy" is rejected by all, save new comers to the nation, and is something no one would agree to eating

Pasta, whole grain bread, cheese blocks, and salted meat ate the foundations of the diet. Spicy food is also adored as it improves flavor and very cheap to find, since spices are not very expensive. Milk and oatmeal are commonly consumed in the morning. Potatoes are also very popular, number two after pasta and bread as a source of carbohydrates. Smoking tobacco is illegal, but weed is legal. Mexican food and Chinese are slowly becoming popular due to immigrant influence. Corn is not popular, nor is pork, and this should be also noted.

In the North, due to its large woodsman style type of living, Deer, Antelope, Bears, and other large game are favorable over smaller game as well as greens; though some herbs and vegetables were utilized in Ulbanta Stew, which is a Bear-meat stew which encompasses onions, carrots, celery, and of course Bear meat. Due to the Southern regions more farmland-type agriculture, most of the cuisines there will encompass more earthen oriented meals that are complimented by meat. Such meals usually use potatoes, apples, asparagus, corn, wheat, and lettuce.

In the East, a large conglomeration of vegetarians (due to religious beliefs) have taken refuge which has allowed the natural mammal population to grow exponentially. These meals are almost completely vegetables and fruits, usually with a base of lettuce or sun-dried tomatoes and other fruits. Towards the West, the preferred meal is fish. Large Tuna, Salmon, Carp and Flounder are consumed alongside shoreline herbs and fruits, with a light and hearty feeling to it.
