OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE
MINISTRY OF FORESTRY AND LAND MANAGEMENT
From the Desk of Brg. Simon Tourey, Minister of Forestry and Land Management of the Republic of Songhia
To all interested parties,
The Ministry of Forestry and Land Management of the Republic of Songhia is proud to report the discovery of oceanic oil-fields at Point Sagou, 87 kilometers from the port city of Bakumba in Songhia's Exclusive Economic Maritime Zone. At this time, preliminary reports indicate that the reserves may hold as many as 2,500,000,000 cubic meters of crude oil. This is the third oil field discovered in Songhia, but its first maritime oil discovery. Point Sagou is also the country's largest discovery, comprising at minimum 57% of Songhia's oil reserves. As such, the Songhian people are interested in soliciting foreign expertise to help develop these oil resources, both to improve Songhia's economy and to reduce world petroleum prices.
The Songhian National Petroleum Company is entertaining bids to construct an oil extraction platform at Point Sagou. Any interested parties should submit an offer to construct and operate the platform, along with expected compensation. This will be a subcontractory position within the Songhian National Petroleum Company. All bids are subject to review by the Ministry of Forestry and Land Management.
The government and people of Songhia welcome foreign assistance in this matter. All sincere bids will be reviewed sincerely.
- Brigadier Simon Tourey,
Minister of Forestry and Land Management
Republic of Songhia
