To: Defense Corporations of the World
Subject: Belkan Tanker Contract

To the Defense Corporations of the World,

The Belkan Luftwaffe has been in the process of replacing the 952 KC-767s currently in service as the primary Aerial Tanker Aircraft for the past 2 years with the Hypersphere Technologies Ltd.'s KC-48 Sonic Tanker, based on the Hy-100 Sonic Cruiser. However, under pressure from the Belkan Senate, it has been decided to freeze the current production contract and open up the contract to foreign Defense Corporations. As such, I am releasing the requirements for the Next Generation Tanker Aircraft(NGTA) Contract to the world.

  • Must carry at minimium over 215,000 lb of JP-8 Aviation Jet Fuel
  • Must have a minimium Top Speed of Mach 0.875
  • Must not have a ground footprint larger than 45% of the KC-767
  • Must be capable of refueling both Boom and Hose & Drogue type Aircraft at the same time
  • Must come at under $120,000,000 USD per unit

Depending on the aircraft, the Belkan Luftwaffe may acquire up to 550 of the winning Tanker aircraft. Good luck and may the best plane win.

Sincerly,
George Hammond
Secretary of Defense for the Grand Principality of Belkaland

OOC:I'd like to point out that the most effective aeria refueling tankers are based off of RL Airliners, and for example, the Airbus A380, costs 320 Million just to build the Civilian One, and my KC-380 only went down 15 Million, for a price of 305 Million. so the 120 Mn max is a bit unrealistic. Im going to submit my KC-380 later on, after making sure it meets some other things. 747 also costs a average of 220 mn just to build the Civilian one, so your looking at Bomber Priced aircraft, not F-22 Priced Aircraft.

OOC: The KC-767 is priced at 130-150 million dollars. And I'm not looking for a Large Tanker like a KC-10 or KC-747, but a medium sized one like the KC-135 & KC-767, so the 120mil price is realistic.

OOC: Tis based on the Boeing Sonic Cruiser design. And doesn't anyone use an original medium Tanker in the KC-767 class? :(

OOC:Most people from my experience use KC-747 or KC-10 Sized Aircraft and up, as anything below is really of no real use in the NS Universe due to the extreme distances involved, hence my KC-380 having a maximum fuel load of 783,000 lbs of fuel, or 335,000 Kgs, to the KC-767s 202,000 Kgs
In other words, conservatives are generous with their own money, and liberals are generous with other peoples money.

OOC: That sucks, so no one has a Tanker for regional missions?

OOC:

Actually most people went with the obviously superior KC-330 and a like ;)

I currently don't have anything really close although i have been playing with ideas for a modern VC-10 alike but such a design would be a week or so off at least.
