To the CEO of Turino Trains International,

Re: Woldand International Airport

We are thankful for your offer displayed where you proposed a new Tramlink concept to be delivered at a modest price across terminals and along the runways, to Woldland City. We laud your intentions. However, the local city council, in conjunction with their main bus coordinator, already have an hourly, sustainable bus service from and to the city itself.

However, we would never be so rapid in turning down a good deal, so we would rather submit an alternative order, in which a tram could still connect terminals. Since our largest car parks sit up to one mile away from the main reception of their allocated terminal, we wish to ask for a tram service between the car park for Terminal 1, to the entrance of Terminal 1, with the same plans for Terminal 2.

Our plans for this would be, as you have already stated, sustainable. We would like a system which is mostly built on ground level where there is sufficient outdoor space, though, where needed, we could allow for bridges. We like quiet, modern carriages. As walking is encouraged by government initiatives, we have also decided that, with your permission, we can charge a small fee for those who decide to use the trams. Should this be permitted, any income from the charging- however large or small- will be fairly split in half; 50 % for us (Woldland International Airport Authority), and you.

We thoroughly look forward to a response.

Faithfully,
Charlton Austin
Deputy Director of WIA Committee

Woldland International Airport

Regarding your previous letter-attached above, Turino Trains International would be delighted to run a service between the two terminals and their respected carparks. Our Planning and Engineering Team have suggested similar to before, a TramSystem which be both modern, efficent and sustainable and be able to transport passenger in a spacious environment in under 4 minutes from/to terminals. There will be a service every 4-8 minutes if possible. The total costs of such an operation, which TTI will gladly pay for are NS$5.4m, where just under NS$3m is spent on the Tram Fleet itself. Although reluctant at the high 50% request for Profits, TTI's Board has agreed to the terms laid out. Our Financial Correspondents have indicated that Total Profits from this Venture are around NS102,000 (after Maintainence Fees/Salaries etc) a week. This leaves you a profit pw of NS$51,000 and per annum NS$2,652,000. We hope this is acceptable and a deal can be reached.(based on ticket prices of NS$3 per person)

New Hope Subway System

Postby Turino » Mon Jul 23, 2012 12:18 pm

The TTI Planning Review of the System
Subway Systems are never cheap. We hope to install a service across three interlinking lines that will run a frequent service every four minutes. The cost of the rail network here is around NS$612m ,whilst the cost of fleet is to be set at NS$1.9bn.

Perhaps it was expensive. But the Network in theKingdom of Phonexia that runs along underground through its capital, serving upto 7,500,000 passengers a day across 3 mainline services, is an impressive achievement which is both modern and cheaply efficent. The Subway System also has connections to "Ministry Station", New Hope Interchange and the Royal Park, allowing access to overground services as well on 8 stations.
The Network is run & operated by Turino Trains International.

UPDATES

SEVERE DELAYS ON NEWHOPE ROYAL LINE DUE TO ESSENTIAL MAINTAINENCE WORK
Passengers are advised to take Overground services or use other forms of Public Transportation.
Currently, all Subway Tickets are accepted by ALL TTI Operated Networks.
Turino Trains International Apologies for the Delay

For Further Updates go to the Mainsite or Download the "TTI Live Updates" application FREE online

INTERACTIVE ROUTE MAP UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Please Download a Full Map of the Network on the TTI Mainpage at this time

Ticket Prices

Regardless of which lines you choose, the New Hope Subway Line Operates a Simple Using Charge. So regardless of the distance or the number of changes, using a "New Hope Subway Interactive Card (NHSIC)" avaliable at major retailers from just NS$9.99, it is only NS$2.00 per single journey per passenger. if you do not posses a NHSIC card, standard Overground charges (of NS2.70 per adult per destination/change) apply.
Visit "GetTheCard.com" for more details.

Facilities
All Stations include toilet facilities for every 2 platforms in operations. Each Platform also has "letting areas" for local railstation cafes and services.

Dear Sir,

Given the partnership that exists between Turino trains and the Mercantile Federal Government, The minister of trade has put forwards a proposal within the Civic Forum to take a significant stake within your company and refinance your company, this however will mean that schemes that are not likely to make a significant return over the next 10 to 15 years, such as the highly expensive Hawaiian rail link will be sold on or scrapped.

The ministry also propose fragmenting your network into different companies, these will be as follows

TraxNet, this will be specialising inInfrastructure upkeep, and become part of the government, operating directly under the Mercantile gov't and the Turino government,

TRF, though externally badged on its locomotives as TTi, the job of TRF will be to provide railfreight work, again totally seperate from your inter-city operations that you carry out, less profitable routes will be put up for tender and sale to a third party ToC.

For the final proposal, The ministry of trade offers to pay off your creditors to who you owe money to, and refinance your debts.

Yours,
Eric Bradley,
Ministry of Trade and Commerce

Though TTI has been fragmented into 3 operations,

Infrastructure
Railfreight
Passenger

They will still (externally badged) still retain the TTI signage, just administratively and financially they would be seperate entities. (i bit like British Rail under its sectorisation plan in the 80s)

Also it may be worth splitting the passenger into two seperate companies, to deal with commuter and intercity express travel, (like comparing BR Inter City and BR Network South East from the 80s and 90s)

With careful management, We believe that the Aurora-Turino-Rail-Franchise, (encompassing Project Aurora Trains, PARIS, Trans Polar and the Turino group) has profit and viability, however certain schemes may be too ambitious.

As regards the Store Front, as you created them and it is your work, for now will remain under your control (though chances are a joint scheme will probably rise from this where the 3 companies will all work under one storefront.

Yours,
Eric Bradley

GUIDE INFORMATION:

Trans Polar Express Line Journey

Travel in Luxury & Socialise along a night journey on the ICX Turino Trains Overnight Train. Avaliable daily, travel across the Polar Ice Caps and a stunning 1600km crossing. Tickets include sleeping facilities , access to social activities and food and drinks. All from NS$1899 per person. The TransPolar Tourist Authority states:

"The Rai'Lal sea crossing across the icecap is a 2688km bridge that spans the 300m deep Arctic Ocean, for a regular locomotive hauled passenger service takes 26 hours to cross it. Trans Polar Railways built it because ports were forever being frozen in. At its highest point, you are 300m above the surface of the ocean to allow ships to pass underneath.

The Westernmost point of the bridge has a visitor centre to allow people to go up to the observation lounge, a further 200m above the tracks, here you can dine in absolute comfort in a revolving restaurant that takes in the views of the polar north, and during the long polar night, there is a dark observation room above the restaurant that allows visitors to view the Aurora Borealis

In the visitor centre, you can actually decend deep into the bridge with a guided tour, showing the generators and signal control centre that control singnalling across the bridge. Tours cost 20 Northern Dinars for an adult, 10 for a child under 16years of age and take aproximately 2 hours."

Tickets are available from the TTI Mainsite.

The Timmy City Project

The Timmy City project was a long and difficult project. When Turino Trains International faced restructuring difficulties this project was delayed severely as a result . However on 19 Jul 2012, TTI Planner formalised construction and work began on the most expensive project in the Company’s history.
Designed to transport an entire nation across vast keys and islands, all at at relatively small cost and very efficiently . To tackle this problem, TTI planners have suggested using a combined Network of Magnetic Levitation Trains and High Speed TramSystem Interchange Points or Metrolines. This would be developed ontop of and incorporating the Old Overseas Railroad.

TravelPass
“Anywhere Anytime” 7 day pass: 150 Gold

The Keys Connection:
The Old railroad here was in dire need of repair. Using Steel Pillars and reinforced concrete, covered in a sleek carbon holding design coated with the latest water proofing technology , the Maglev Key Connection Track was able to be built. Although, expensive, costing NS$4.2bn –making it the single most expensive above land track line in TTI and most probably Timmy City’s history, the 800 strong Maglev fleet can transport 556,000 people at any one time and can cope with 13m passengers on a daily basis.
The Maglev Connection continues another 70 miles beyond the Keys to Dry Tortuguas.

MINOR DELAYS ARE EXPECTED BETWEEN KEYS JUNCTION FLORIDA TRAM INTERCHANGE due to Essential Maintainence Work

Florida:& Alaska

Florida is subject to its own MetroLine System. There are 3 Connection line services , each one with a 300 strong Metro fleet supplied by the World Famous Karlberg Industries costing themselves 1.8bn. This means it can transport 18million people every day quickly and efficiently around the area.
This same system is also operational in the region of Alaska.

Ticket Prices
Child(single)- 2.20 Gold
Child(Return)-3.00 Gold
Adult(Single)-3.50 Gold
Adult (Return)-4.15 Gold

The Keys themselves also have TramSystem interchange points. Where the MagLev train junctions intersect allowing people to reach any part of the Keys in comfort and style. Here a 3 Pronged style loop system, encompassing 200 Trams (at a total cost of 2bn) form part of the NS$803m network.

Ticket Prices:
Child (Single)- 0.75 Gold
Child (Return)-1.20 Gold
Adult (Single)-2.50 Gold
Adult (Return) 3.20 Gold

Hawain Islands:

This is perhaps the most ambitious TTI project ever. To ensure the coral areas are protected and that tourist can still access hotspots such as the Great Yarn Ball (biggest in the world). Here there has been the most expensive overall project- a Subway underground watertunnel. Spectacular in its design it cost over 13bn to build. There is also a clear section that overlooks the coral areas above it appealing to many tourists (this 500m stretch cost instelf 4.2bn). Here there is also a 250 Strong Metroline fleet with a two tier Railtrack allowing rapid and fast movement of persons.

Child (Single)- 1.75 Gold
Child (Return)-2.20 Gold
Adult (Single)-2.80 Gold

LightRail Fleet

The LightRail Fleet uses Orbis Engineering for its LightRail fleet and below is its overview from its storefront page:http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=158088

Orbis Engineering have released their latest commuter train, the 250km/h rated two-car lightweight commuter train, this trainset is designed for variable voltage operation with 15 to 25kv AC overhead, 1500v DC overhead and 750v DC third rail.

seating for the HSMU is 96, - 72 in standard class (4 abreast), 24 in first class (3 abreast) with a small counter bar for snacks and pre-heated meals half way along the no2 car. First class is located at the lead half of the no2 car, just behind the cockpit. at the rear end of no1 car just ahead of the vestibule area between cars is the luggage space. This can be either a standard rack or for 15,000 northern dinars an armoured vault designed to send any blast up through the roof space.

Interior specifications incude ambient uplighting in a shade of neon blue with LED emergency lighting that strobes to the nearest exit, skylight exits incase of derailment that renders the train on its side. Seating can be specified with either saloon seating which has tables at windows and passengers face each other, or airline style seating. This option is slightly more expensive as seats have in built video screens as standard.

Riding on air suspension for a smooth ride, the HSMU is also designed to tilt around corners for increased passenger comfort.

Dear Turino,
We see how people are talking about the Hawainn Railroad but please don't get rid of it, lots of people use it. It is profitable in fact the most out of all of them. Also We want you to build a railroad going from California to China, and a railroad from Hawaii to Midway then Midway to Japan.
Thank You,
Timmy City
P.S.
The Timmy City Railroad company would like to buy 15% of your company.

Dear sir

In relation to a Hawaiian railroad, this project would be a non starter between islands, and as for a railway from china to califiornia, this will NOT go across the ocean, and will have to go across alaska to the C3C, then join the Trans Siberian to go down to the mongolan border. During this time, you will actually be faster using a cargo ship and be able to carry more cargo.

As for a Hawaii - Midway - Japan railroad, is a total non starter, the ocean there is 6km deep, and in places a lot deeper down to 10km and in one place, 11.7km deep.

Yours, Karl Stevens

The only place trains can run on Hawaii is on the island of Hawaii only, skirting the edge, however getting a train to the other island would be impossible, engineers at Perseus Geotechnic have submitted the report, the ocean is simply too deep to so safely put a tunnel through, and too deep build bridge pylons in order to span with a bridge as the huge tides there mean that a floating bridge is impossible to be built.

due to the short distances involved, they are going to be 3-car diesel multiple units

if you are wandering why i managed to bridge the arctic ocean,

between Novaya Zemlya and the main island, the ocean there is 300m deep.

Oil rigs sit in deeper water, and the Troll Gas platform is 472m from its base to the top of the flare

heres the wiki

all i did was use that concept

Relaunch

Postby Turino » Thu Dec 13, 2018 5:37 pm

Turino Trains International

A TraxNet-TTI Joint Venture

Turino Trains Relaunched

In December 2018, TTI has officially announced its relaunch. TTI was established in 1921 as a state-owned railroad company but became privatised in 1987 and fully free of state support in 2004.

It enjoyed substantial growth delivering 12.9 thousand km of track across dozens of nationstates and regions. However having taken on extensive debt , TTI was facing bankruptcy in 2012. It therefore was bailed out by the Aurora Confederacy Mercantile Government and merged with TransPolar to form TraxNet under a 50-50 Joint Venture.

Although still carrying the TraxNet Name, Turino Trains International (TTI) is now relaunching as an elite railroad operator and construction firm, with its own independent board.

Kind regards,

Alexandre De Beyton
New CEO of TTI

Traxnet-Aurora Confederacy Refinancing Proposal

Postby Turino » Thu Dec 13, 2018 7:30 pm

Turino Trains International

A TraxNet-TTI Joint Venture

Restructuring of TraxNet

The formal relaunch of Turino Trains International (TTI) in 2018, part of the TraxNet joint venture owned by the Turino Partnership Trust (TPT) and Mercantile Federal Government, is proposing a new restructuring plan following the 2012/2013 Merger Agreement.

The Merger Agreement 2012/2013
Under the Merger, a bankrupt TTI was merged with Orbis Railways, PARIS construction group and TransPolar to form TraxNet. The entities were then split into distinctive groups, Traxnet Freight, International, Commuter etc. Excessively ambitious projects were scrapped and the Mercantile Federal Government helped bail Turino Trains out of a $6.1bn debt pile. Since then, though never formally merged as a single storefront, the Turino Partnership and Mercantile Federal Government, hold a 50-50 Joint Venture in each of the TraxNet group companies.

New Proposal

Now as the Turino Partnership Trust (TPT) aims to relaunch its own group, it believes a simpler restructuring strategy will be required. Although it believes in the long term benefits of a merger, it believes to build the storefront back up, it requires a leaner, more independent structure. It therefore proposes the following:

Section 1: The Dissolution of TraxNet Minorities

- (a) We propose the dissolution of TraxNet Freight, Commercial, International and Inter-City Services
- (b) This will create a cleaner ordering structure for customers
- (c) All previously TTI assets will fall into possession of Turino Trains International (TTI) and vice versa
Section 2: Exclusivity Agreement with Orbis in route operation

- (a) Companies listed in S.2(c) have first and exclusive right to supply TTI with railway trains, crew and training programs on all lines
- (B) Companies listed in S.2(c) have first and exclusive right to tender for contracts on existing lines and future lines over the next 15 years
- (c) Companies allowed include: Orbis, Transpolar, PARIS or any other TraxNet entities authorised by the Mercantile Federal Government
-
Section 1: Cash Settlement & Ownership
-(a) The Mercantile Federal Government interest in Turino Trains will remain at 50%. The venture will still be known as TraxNet
-(b) Turino Trains interest in the legacy holdings (e.g. Orbis/PARIS) will remain at 50%. The Venture will still be known as TraxNet.
-(c) The Mercantile Federal Government will pay $380m in cash and offer a $2.5bn credit facility for orders under the offer agreement

From: Jackson Tals, Vice President of Operations, Thermodolia National Railroad Corporation
Subject: Construction of lines
Encryption Level: Mild

Greetings,

We at Thermodolia National Railroad Corporation would like your assistance in construction of a new railroad. We would like that said railroad be jointly owned by TNRC and TTI. Since your company would be constructing the line you will be getting at least 60% ownership. The remaining 40% will be owned by TNRC, managed by TNRC subsidiary Rail Holdings Corporation.

Nation: Thermodolia
Company Name: Danbury, Elæ, and Southern
Description of Work: The railroad will be constructed in southern Thermodolia. Starting in the town of Danbury the line will follow the Coastal Southern mainline for 15km after which it will branch off for 25km to the town of Elæ. The line will then go south for 10km at which point to will spilt into two branches, the coastal branch and the southern branch. The coastal branch will run for 20km to the coastal city of Aśanby. The southern branch will run 50km to the towns of Bænde and Cal Fel.

The entire system will be in 1,000mm gauge track. The system is projected to haul both passengers and freight. The system would have connection to the main rail network of Thermodolia at Danbury, Aśanby, and Bænde
Length of Track: 120km

Sincerely,

Thermodolia Proposal

Postby Turino » Mon Dec 17, 2018 10:50 am

Turino Trains International

A TraxNet-TTI Joint Venture

Thermodolia Proposal

To: Jackson Tals, VP Operations TNRC

Thank you for reaching out to discuss the opportunity to build a railroad in Southern Thermodolia. Once details have been agreed, we will design a precise railroad map outlining the route proposed to accommodate both passenger and freight cargo. Under a 60-40 Venture, TNRC will be required to put up an equity (cash) stake worth $548m for the $1.37bn project. (Proposal 1.)

However, where the Thermodolian government commits 5.4% of its spending, some $31 trillion a year, on public transport alone, we believe that the country could become a world leader in efficient public transit to meet the needs of its 11bn people and tourists. We would like to propose a vast High Speed Link (H.S.L) to connect different regions in the country. If interested, please let us know the rough estimates of track length, regions connected and approximate passengers per day. If this venture is agreed, Turino Trains is happy to reduce the fee for the Southern Thermodolia Network. TNRC would still own 40% of the venture, but would only need to pay $150m for the stake.(Proposal 2)

Yours sincerely,

Alexandre De Beyton
Interim Chief Executive Officer, Turino Trains International

Proposal 1
We are introducing a new trial programme for Cost-Estimates under The Railways Corporation Act 2018, ahead of mandatory enforcement in 2020.
Please see below:

We estimate proposal costs at $112.4m, Track Signal and Overhead costs for construction at $486m (given the current Southern Coast Operation) and impose a Rail Industry Fee (our margin fee) at $77.9m for project management services as well as a $35m contingency. We estimate the upgrade of Danbury Station at $9m with Elae, Asanby, Band, Cal Fel and other stations requiring investment of $38m. We assign an $119m in additional regulatory, administrative and operational costs.

We can sub-tender relevant train fleets, cars, training and operations through our own former TraxNet platform and current capacity. However, we will likely subtender car contracts out to Orbis’ Interstellar Rail Systems as the most appropriate for your track. We believe a settlement of $529m will be required including financing costs.

Total Costs: $1,371.3m (inc. non stated additional costs)

Proposal 2

A National High Speed Link (HSL-I) to connect different regions and the capital of the country together. This would be the most ambitious project for TTI and for Thermodolia to update its rail network into a state of the art system. Costs will be higher given greater regulatory, environment as well as technical costs under the project. Under a developed economy scenario, similar to HS1, analysis suggests a range of £51.3-£71.2m per km.

If interested please fill out below. Under this proposal, the cost required for TNRC in the Southern Network scheme would be reduced to $150m.
Code: Select all

Approximate Distance (km):
