Hi my name is Robert P. Sysos, I’m CEO of Lirka and you must know us because we are the greatest company of Vagabundas in many areas such as personal computing, communication services and book publishing.
Since the beginning of this company, when Jonny Larry opened his first bookstore, we have targeted two main goals: the first one, that we would provide the best products for our customers and the second, that we would lead innovation in our markets. And we did that by selling the best book and investing on good writers, by offering cheap telephonic services and providing a fiber-optic infrastructure for each of our consumers, and by offering the best integration of hardware and software since the 2000s.
When Larry died in 2005, we decided to improve significantly our technology sector and one of our decisions was that we would create a better Operating System for our computers. Alfie OS was a good operating system, it offered a very user-friendly interface and it had some nice features but we wanted to do more, we wanted to create the best operating system in the World!
We created AlfOS 9 in 2007, and it had some great features: it was very secure, it was Unix-based; it was much more stable than previous versions of AlfOS; it had real memory protection; it had a classical environment (to run old AlfOS applications) and added the dock. But we weren’t satisfied, we wanted to create the best software and we haven’t achieved that… Until Now!
It’s a Great Pleasure to present to you Lirka OS, one of the Best Operating Systems in the world! Lets show the creation process of this product and then we will go to the technical analysis.
When we started creating Lirka OS, we had 3 main targets in order to create the best user experience for our costumer:
The First One was that our Operating System should be very user-friendly. People should start working on their computer just after unboxing their desktops and notebooks and turning it on. We achieved that using a very intuitive GUI, voice-recognition software and a multi-touch responsive touchpad.
The Second Target was that Lirka OS should be a very powerful and secure OS. Once users start to work on their computer they will discover how stable is our operating system. Using the same hardware, Lirka OS will be much faster than any other competitor you have ever seen. You’ll be able to see HD videos, have the best gaming experience in your life and deal with complex graphics without having any kind of crash, delays or a gigantic waiting time.
The Third Target was that Lirka OS should have great compatibility with any kind of Operating System. We noticed that many people weren’t buying AlfOS because they would lose many applications that they have on their previous OSes. And that is one of the major changes of Lirka OS: we created the L-App Store (to encourage software creation to our products), we provided a virtual machine in all versions of our Lirka OS and we created a Boot Camp if people decide to have more than one OS in our Lirka PCs.
And now lets go to the geeky part.
Here it’s the Lirka OS architecture:
The first major difference is that we will keep our integrated approach but we will license our operating system to other hardware companies. So after today Lirka’s OS will be compatible with many hardware not only ours, we have Lirka OS ports designed to the SPARC, POWER and x86-64 Architectures. We will be totally responsible for the user-experience of those who buy our integrated package but we will not be responsible for the experience of those who decide to buy computers from third parties.
You’ll notice that we decided to use XNU hybrid kernel (the core of Mac OS X) to be the basis of our operating system but we decided to “upgrade it” by improving their I/O kit and creating a real time extension to its kernel. We have also added a built-in assembly translator that will let any Lirka OS application designed to a specific processor architecture to run on any computer with Lirka OS. That’s why we call it XNU+ or Lir-Darwin. It has memory protection, preemptive multitasking and modern networking.
In the green area, we have the libraries from our operating system: we have OpenGL for 3D graphics, Magnesium our own PDF-based 2D graphics library, Lirka Media Library and many other libraries such as Java, SSL, SGL, WebKit, SQLite, Hippo and Elephant.
In the purple are we have our application frameworks and our APIs: the Package Manager is responsible to major upgrades of your applications. The Window Manager is Magnesium and it is responsible for rendering graphics, audio and any kind of videos. The Content Provider is the framework responsible for transferring data between sandboxed applications; Lirka Media Manager is totally responsible for encoding and transcoding video and audio from one format to another and sending it to Magnesium Compositor.
Lirka OS can run lots of applications because it has many APIs included such as Java, GNUstep, SDL, OpenGL and OpenCL but Hippo is our native API and Elephant is our older native API.
Elephant is a very nice C API. It has a incredible toolbox for development and it has some good object-oriented features. Elephant is our classic API, any Elephant Application run on both AlfOS 9 and on Lirka OS. Doing that, programmers just have to port their old AlfOS 9 applications to our new API. And now we move to hyppo!
Hippo is a incredible API, it has wonderful development tools and it is a sophisticated and refined C++ language programming interface that uses the LirC++: our version of C++ that is a much less complicated language than C++ and it has almost every single feature of it.
Furthermore, we have added many futures that will save time of developers with our clean and elegant Lirka Interface Creator that will help them coding for printers, e-mailing and other drivers. The Interface Creator will save lots of coding times and developers will have more time to innovate and add more features to their applications.
In the Red and Blue areas we have the applications and our graphical user interface. As you can see, compatibility is not a problem anymore we have many good software specially those for Windows or Linux users that are migrating to our platform: We have many open-source apps, we have a Microsoft Office version for Lirka OS, we have Adobe Photoshop and we have very good projects designed by Lirka itself such as Lirka Media Player and Media Maker (L-Band and L-Movie), L-Works (Office Program) and Lirka Business Manager (the best Software for Business).
The price of our operating system is:

And it’s totally free for our new users.
For those who are interested on third-party computers, Lirka will make an agreement with every third-party partner but we believe that we will charge a standard price for every manufacturer who is interested in working with Lirka OS.
