Military Systems

BlackLight Military Systems has once again created the future of advanced personal equipment for your average grunt. Personalised Kevlar body armour provides the latest deterrent against small arms rounds and grenades.

The Mk.24 "Juggernaut" line of vests consists of interlocking plates of a doped ceramic/tungsten alloy, each one encased in a silicon layer of ballicstic dampening gel. And sandwiched by two very flexible tungsten/kevlar woven covers, providing anti-penetration protection at 99.99%. Comes with 8 armoured storage pockets for ammunition and grenades.

Weapons wise - The LA750MPAR (Multi-Purpose Assault Rifle) tops the charts with advanced environmental factorising, shock absorbing recoil, and high-penetration round. It fires a magazine of 32x7.62mm NATO rounds, at muzzle velocity of 1200mps, and at 350rpm. To a maximum pentration of around 12cm*. Its heat-prevention system, allows heat to be excessed safely, and also allows the weapon to be fired upside-down, in sand, snow or water. It is also equipped with CROSSCOM Interface, allowing your soldier to know the amount or rounds he has left, direction he's facing, and see a visual pair of rifle crosshairs.
It achieves this by utilizing the bullets recoil and gas mechanism to fire hollow-pointed tungsten APDS rounds, which can stop a rhino at close range. And has a unique venting system, which diverts heat from the barrel and into the surrounding atmosphere. However this system can be disabled, in order to camouflage oneself from IR sensors.

The Mk 4 Combat Helmet is another unique part of our lines unique soldier protection gear. It is made with the same methods as our juggernaut body armour, and is equipped with our specialized CROSSCOM. This interfaces with the users neural cortex by the use of neural scanning, allowing him to visualise tactical battlefield information. As well as access GPS, his squad mates HUDs and Bio-monitors, and fully access the weapon he's holding. It includes vital sign readout, grenades or ordnance indicator, environmental factors, radar, and enemy targets close by. It also allows the user to fully control vehicles, tuning in with the vehicles AI system. This futuristic bit of equipment is fitted over the left eye, and looks pretty damn awesome.

The Mk.76 "Grizzly" Main battle Tank provides the ultimate in crew protection and firepower.
Its weaponry consists of a rifled L1120 120mm Main gun, capable of piercing tank armour at distances well exceeding 2500m. It works by magnetically attracting the ferrous shell to small magnetic rings on the gun. As one ring attracts the shell, the other switches off, meaning that the projectile is accelerated far beyond normal limits. the shell it fires is a hollow-pointed Iron APDS, and it stores 48 on board. It also comes with 2x0.5Cal Electronically controlled Machine guns for personal defence, as well as smoke launchers and flares.
Its armour is state of the art, depleted Uranium and Tungsten/Titanium reinforced plates combined with a Faraday Mesh create a very durable piece of armour, capable of withstanding concentrated RPG fire, as well as hold out for long periods against modern anti tank warfare. It also contains a layer of highly strengthened ballistic gel, which suppresses the stream of molten metal and discarding sabot rounds fired by most AP shells. The armour is can also resist incredibly high doses of Radiation, and all chemical and biological weapons, with its fully refurbished NBC suite. The armour is also fitted with a cooling system, which prevents detection by IR sensors, and discreetly vents heat on the underside of the tank. The "belly" of the tank is curved, helping deflect AT and IED mines. Small photon lasers are placed around the tank, capable of tracking RPGs and missile heading toward the tank, and destroying them at a safe range.
The Power plant of this beast is a 24cylinder Hydrogen Injected accelerator engine, powering 18 electric motors which in turn provide power to the tracks and electrical equipment. It is also outfitted with a Graf/Hauptmann Solar/Saline Actuator, which can turn any water into Hydrogen on the fly. If the engine is hit or damaged, two backup generators are outfitted to help restart the engine if needed or power the tank to the nearest repair depot.
Inside the tank, the Crew of 4 (Gunner, Commander, Driver, Loader) communicate using the CROSSCOM system, and are each armed with a small M6J Pistol. The tank is outfitted with the latest range finding equipment, utilizing laser triangulation techniques to calculate a precise distance to the target. The Guns targeting computer also communicates with CENTCOM and Realtime updates to provide precise environmental conditions and latest orders, and detecting whether the environment outside is potentially toxic. It also uses thermal imaging, and is also able to pick up light arrays outside the visible spectrum, detecting radiation and the latest in laser weaponry.

The B-85 three-stage thermonuclear MIRV missile. Carrying 12 475Megaton warheads, they work by compressing a dense plutonium isotope using conventional explosives and x-ray radiation, producing a nuclear yield far greater than many run-of-the-mill nuclear weapons. The missile itself is able to strike at any target on the globe, launched 40km into the atmosphere before seperation and re-entry. Can be launched via SSBN or Nuclear base.

Owning Nuclear weapons does provide a deterrent against those that wish to use them for evil purposes. However the newest Innovation in National Defence has been delivered by BlackLight, in the form of a Nuclear weapon defence. The Mk48 "Interceptor" system works by utilizing real-time GPS and Radar updates from orbiting satellites, as well as Geiger stations to detect the paths of Nuclear weapons. Once the missile has been detected, its speed, trajectory and size is calculated, and the onboard computer informs other systems and local military forces. If the trajectory is hostile, and the missile is on a predicted vector with a nearby location, the Interceptor arms itself. It emits a high energy stream of Magnetically excited Photons toward the missiles predicted path. When the laser impacts, it immediately melts away the warhead and the inner arming mechanisms by kinetic impact and sheer heat, rendering it useless and without it detonating. The laser itself is powered by a small nuclear reactor core within the system, utilizing electromagnetism to power the weapon. The laser itself is capable of firing once every minute without overheating, however if multiple MIRV warheads have already re-entered the atmosphere, the unit alerts nearby smaller systems to each calculate and destroy the warheads.
