In 1880, Tertulio Vasquez was the owner of a small Coffee Plantation outside of Yopal, Wagondia. He was a kind and gentle man, Well Educated, Young, and eager to begin his working life. Vasquez saw a kind of Culture in Coffee like no other before him. Every day he would wake up, pour himself a cup of Hot Coffee, and would walk to the highest point on his Plantation. He would then stretch out a Hammock and read while sipping the " Beverage of the Heavens" as he described It. Velasquez was also up to date on world news. He knew there was a growing Industry for Coffee in America, as well as in Wagondia. To take advantage of the situation, Velasquez opened up a Company known as Velasquez Coffee Exports. The Company would Ship Coffee Exports from Buenaventura to San Francisco, where the Coffee Industry was going strong. The Business racked up lots of money for Velasquez, but He was worried about World Competition, especially Coffee Production in Southeast Asia. After all, It was Southeast Asian Plantations that had put an end to the Wagain Rubber Boom. To protect his Company, Velasquez began looking for other ways to make a profit in America. On a trip to San Francisco in 1882, Velasquez saw what he had been looking for. Velasquez had been walking down a street in San Francisco, heading to Lunch. He took a new Route to the Restaurant, and walked by a Newly Opened Coffeehouse, Filled with people chatting and sipping cups of Coffee. Velasquez instantly saw Potential in the Coffeehouse Industry, and set about creating a new business off the saving he had earned from the Shipping Line. The First Velasquez Coffeehouse opened up in Bogota just a month later. Although Velasquez's Original Plans were to reach into American Trade, he soon found himself in a Nation where Coffeehouses were popping up Everywhere. Velasquez decided to stay in Wagondia, and it remained that way until 2001, when we opened stores in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as Venezuela. Now, we are Embracing all Nations, And we hope they will Embrace us as well. So, as we say at Velasquez, Good Day, and Good Coffee.
