NWA - History

ImageThe very first NWA aircraft, pictured here in 1921

In August 1919, two Orlkjestadi businessmen, Jon Illjits and Antony "Northreach" Parace, noticed a government reward for any aviator that manages to begin regular services from the Orlkjestadi mainland and the colonies. The two businessmen bought a Farman F.60 Goliath and began services under "Northreach Air Services", Illjits naming the airline after Antony's nickname, despite ANtony doing little wok on the airline. Antony's nickname is due to an interesting speech slur of his. Specifically, he got it from a planned expedition to the North Pole, in which he said "Northreach" instead of "reach the North". In 1921, Antony was killed when his car crashed into a tree. Illjits mourned the loss of his friend and associate. But, nevertheless, the show must go on, and Illjits began working on the airline.
Illjits died of pneumonia in 1937, and the Chairman of the Board, Josef Velarion took over, renamed the airline Northreach World Air Ways, and would control the airline for the next 40 years. The airline had already made itself a name for being luxurious, with it's so-called "flying hotels" being known worldwide. Velarion began quickly began buying the new aircraft coming out during the 1940s and early 1950s, and perhaps the most important aircraft were the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser, the de Havilland Comet, and most important of all, the Boeing 707. Velarion quickly ousted the "flying hotels" for the newer aircraft, realizing that passengers not only wanted luxury, but quick flights. By 1960, the 707s began intercontinental service as the 377s began their final run. The 707s requires less stops, and could carry more passengers. Then came the Lockheed L-188 Electra, which became the backbone of Northreach's domestic fleet. The L-188 also resulted in Northreach's first crash- Northreach World Air Ways Flight 089, in April 1961. The plane's engines suddenly failed and exploded over an ocean, and the aircraft began disintegrating. All on board were killed, either by hypoxia, the flames, smoke inhalation, blunt trauma, or drowning. Few bodies were recovered, although the aircraft was salvaged, and reassembled to be given to an aerospace museum in 1989. In the 1960s, Velarion bought some 727s, but didn't bother to purchase the 747, DC-10, or L-1011 aircraft that were coming out in the later days of his leadership. He retired in December 1972.

After Velarion was the Bacciliane leadership. Francisco Bacciliane was a foreign entrepreneur who managed to become a member of the Board of Directors during the Velarion leadership. His leadership would continue to 1981, a total of 9 years. He bought the DC-10, 747, and L-1011, despite both his and Velarion's reservations in 1973. During this time, Northreach was renamed again, this time to it's current name, Northreach World Airways. This was the time of Northreach's largest financial growth, and it became known as an "international" airline. It was not just known as an Orlkjestadi airline, but a global airline. Yet another crash, Northreach's most recent crash, followed in 1974. A bomb was set off in the tail section of an L-1011, killing all on board. Nevertheless, Northreach's reputation continued to grow. In 1976, Bacciliane bought the Concorde, which would serve until 2005. In 1979, the economy began to boom, and so did Northreach. However, Bacciliane felt his work was done, and went back to the board of directors in mid-1981.

When Bacciliane went back to the Board of Directors, the current CEO, Lesko Miranda, took over. He re-branded the company as NWA, and bought more aircraft than any other CEO. He also began more routes than any other CEO. While the boom slowly returned to normal, Northreach arose as one of the world's largest airlines, with one of the most varied fleets of any airline. Miranda kept the company's luxury standard in place, while keeping the prices below industry averages. Today, NWA is one of the world's most prolific and prestigious airlines, and it still lives by the same standards that Illjits and Antony put into place almost a century ago.

NWA - At The Airport

We have all the resources you need to get through the airport with ease.

With most airlines, airport procedures can be inconvenient. However, with NWA, you're in good hands. Our ground staff will gladly guide you through the process, and can tell you anything from what flights are leaving today to where the nearest restroom is.

Don't want to bother with the lines at the check-in desks? Self check-in kiosks are there. Review your flight details, change your flight, print out your boarding boarding passes, and even upgrade to Voyager Plus, Executive, Elite, or Imperial classes.* All you have to do is drop off your bags and go.

Our Chairman's Clubs can be found at most major NWA destinations. These state-of-the-art lounges are complimentary for Executive, Elite, and Imperial class passengers, as well as Diamond, Platinum, Gold, and Silver Plus ranked members of NWA's ExploreMore frequent flyer program. Entry costs 250 USD for Voyager Plus passengers and Silver ExploreMore members, and 500 dollars for Voyager class passengers and Bronze and Copper ExploreMore members. These lounges feature new Orion Centurion game consoles, gourmet meals and snacks, fine drinks, showers and lockers, a gym, flat-screen televisions, reading material from all over the world, a spa, and bunk beds if your flight is cancelled. All of this is complimentary, of course.

Tickets are offered at convenient kiosks in the ticketing sections of airports. Our ticketing staff will do their best to book you a flight you want. Flights are offered from 3 hours to 331 days after the time of the purchase.

As a final word, our app can be downloaded to most smartphones. Using it, you can track flights, check flight info, check-in, book a flight, play sudoku, and much more!

* - Class upgrades are subject to availability. Not all flights have all classes.

Our self check-in kiosks can easily be found.

NWA - Classes Of Travel

Voyager Class

Image
Our Voyager seats are some of the best in the skies.

Economy class. The scourge of the skies, the class that is always vilified. With NWA's Voyager class, economy was so good it would be an insult to call it "economy class". Voyager class is one of the best economy classes you will ever see.

Seats

Our ergonomic seats were designed to give you a comfortable flight. All seats are leather, with a seat pitch of 37 inches. You can find cigarette-lighter style power outlets in the entertainment console. Headrests are provided, and are adjustable. Don't have an adapter for the electrical outlet? Purchase one from the duty-free catalog. Footrests are provided, as well. Amenity kits containing things you might need during the flight are available.

Entertainment

Every seat is equipped with NWA's Audio-Video On Demand (AVOD) system. It features movies, MP3 files, TV shows, and games for the Orion Centurion console. Satellite radio and television is offered on flights within the Orlkjestadi mainland. On the entertainment console, you can also fill out a questionnaire about your flight, track your flight, and book a future one. Newspapers and NWA's magazine Aurora is offered. Wi-Fi is free of charge.

Dining

Our gourmet meals are designed by celebrity chefs and tested by the toughest food critics. Every passenger in Voyager class as a choice between 4 meal choices when meals are served. Not in the mood for a meal? Go to the self-serve snack bar for complimentary brand-name snacks and beverages, from companies such as GO! Energy.

Voyager Plus

Image
The "shell-style" Voyager Plus seats will keep you comfy.

Voyager Plus isn't just Voyager class. It's much more. Voyager plus has priority boarding, better seats, and more services. It's not just Voyager class. It's Voyager Plus.

Seats

Our Voyager Plus seats are made in the ergonomic "shell" style. They are leather, with headrests that are adjustable in many more ways than Voyager seats. Footrests are included, and we are proud to provide a seat pitch of 40 inches for our guests. Amenity kits are included, like in Voyager.

Entertainment

Like in Voyager, all seats are equipped with AVOD systems. However, in Voyager Plus, the screens are larger, and are pulled out from the armrests instead of in front of you. Also, there are much more entertainment choices than in Voyager. And, as always, newspapers and NWA's magazine Aurora is included. Wi-Fi is free of charge.

Dining

Dining options in Voyager Plus are much more varied than in Voyager. A menu can be found in the front seat pocket, offering sandwiches, hot meals, and gourmet snacks. All of this was designed by famed celebrity chefs, and rigorously taste tested. Want something light? Visit the self-serve snack bar.

Executive

Image
Executive class is modern yet luxurious.

Our executive class truly beats out the others. Seats are soft, the service is sublime, and you will never want to leave the plane. Executive class presents a whole new perspective to flying.

Seats

Our Executive seats feature the ability to lie flat, letting you sleep comfortably when you want to. The seats are soft and comfortable, just like a mattress. Pillows and blankets are included, as well as slippers. Amenity kits are provided, just like other classes.

Entertainment

AVOD systems are, as always, provided. However, in Executive, they are much larger. Also, they feature spreadsheet programs and productivity tools for those on business trips, and more entertainment choices than in other classes. NWA's magazine Aurora and newspapers are provided, as is Wi-Fi.

Dining

Prepare for more menu choices than ever before. A menu with choices ranging from carpaccio to teriyaki chicken is found in the seat back pocket, letting you cater to your every food need. Our flight attendants will make sure you're happy. Not that hungry? Go to the self-serve snack bar.

Elite

Image
NWA's Elite suites provide privacy.

Privacy. Not a word you would use to describe airline seats, huh? Well, you can use it to describe airline seats with pride now. Elite class gives you privacy.

Seats

Elite suites are a private sanctum. The suite has divisors between other seats, giving you a sanctuary to do whatever you want to do in peace. You can use your seat inside as a bed, except it is much larger than in Executive. The seat includes a footrest. An amenity kit is included, and complimentary pajamas and slippers are given to Elite passengers.

Entertainment

AVOD systems, as we have said, are included. However, the screen are almost double the size of Executive screens, and much more entertainment choices are included. As always, NWA's magazine Aurora is included, as well as newspapers. Wi-Fi is free of charge.

Dining

Sweet and tangy, exotic and spicy meet in Elite's menu. Dishes from all over the world are served on fine china. Champagne and wine from the finest locales await. Dining in Elite isn't just another meal, it's an experience. Of course, if you aren't hungry for big meals, the self-serve snack bar is always open.

Ambassador

Image
Ambassador class is NWA's absolute best, recalling the days of the "Flying Hotels".

The Ambassador suites are NWA's finest. The best of everything converges in one place. Privacy, luxury, you name it- this Shangri-La in the air is sure to keep you in zen.

Seats

Ambassador's seats aren't seats- their all-out suites. Not only is there a seat with a footrest, but your own bed so you can have a good night's sleep or a luxurious catnap. Silk pajamas and slippers are provided. The sheets are 100% cotton from the best growing regions. Amenity kits are, of course, included.

Entertainment

Ambassador is our magnum opus of entertainment. A large screen awaits you in front of your seat. Literally thousands of entertainment choices are at your fingertips. Only the best class in the best airline can do this much, and the result is Imperial's entertainment. Of course, there is complimentary Wi-Fi.

Dining

Actual silverware and sublime quality china is the stage for a ballet of exotic flavors and tastes from around the world with spices and ingredients costing thousands of dollars going together in perfect harmony. Your taste buds will never be disappointed with the talents of world-famous chefs and fine ingredients. Of course, there's still the self-serve snack bar.
