(note the actual products are in a separate storefront).

1. Advertise. To your region, your allies, etc. Just don't advertise on threads.
2. Personally, I don't like the Lyran Arms-esque style of having links separate from the thread. It makes it so the customer has to go through different threads to get to what they want. What I'd do, get the products, put it on the original thread and then put them in a spoiler with a title of the product name above them. To make it easy to navigate, put in a Table of Contents linking to each category. Like each post is a group of vans, or a coupes, or a sedans, etc.
3. You do only have 2 products, and they're specialist products: a van and a retro sedan. I reckon if you added more modern cars as well like the Cadillac Ciel or the Mercedes F-125. Maybe something like a Mercedes breeded with a Lamborghini. Models like these appeal to the leader's and the person's inner child. If they want it in real life, it ups your chances of them buying it for their nation.
4. The Western Reaches and I have been using informal language on our storefronts rather than the usual formal language. It seems to work. And by informal, I don't mean like text language, gangsta talk or all jokes, but we appeal to the customer's sense of humour. Also, it's easier to read. An example of this is here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=146385

I wasn't sure whether to keep it as one thread or two but figured out the product line would become too big so split it; as for the products, is a van a specialist one, and as for the sedan, it's basically the size of an Audi A6 - but is intended to be slightly more interesting than one, the USP being retro design, new technology. I know people in real life want the Fiat 500 and MINI, so took the concept a stage further.

With regard to the informal language, how could I improve this - the presentation/layout looks OK, but I don't really know the customers sense of humours.

The best appraoch would be to TG the player and see if he is up for that kind of RP, If he is then great, you cna start working the details out. If they aren;t then leave thier storefront the heck alone.

You could just wade right into a storefront but then its 50/50 whether or not they a e cool with that or you get banned from the thread, your posts deleted and put on ignore.

I've rewrote my storefront from scratch, here, and only have 1 vehicle on offer, but am increasing it, what should I do to get customers?
My region has only 1 nation on it, and it's my puppet - so no use advertising there - what should I do?

How should I get customers for it? It's a new storefront, and I'm taking it more carefully than before.

The layout is alright, but the problem is that

-All the design's images are taken from real life images. A significant way to attract potential customer is to actually do create your design's picture/draw your design in the computer. This can easily be done with as simple a programme as Paint. Of course, this is not a compulsory factor, and you can instead choose a suitable real life picture to fit your particular design (for example, if your design is a cruiser, don't get the picture of an aircraft carrier).

-You need more information, and by information I meant technical information, and not just historical information. The basic concept of your design, for example your main battle tank. How is its hull and turret structure? What's the reasoning behind its basic concept? Why do you choose its particular gun system? What is the armour like? Basic things like that.

Even, I'd say, a writing is not needed. All you need to do is to explain the design as much as you can by simply filling in a good statistics block for the design.

Thats just two of the main points that I can think of as of the present.

Whilst I could've done a really long response, I will opt for the short one, since I know you after all. :p

Try to erase all the PMG images, and lineart draw your firearms. Trust me, even that will enhanced your storefront by a lot in a lot of people's eyes. Secondly, a little of description/write-up never hurts. But for now, the former would be more beneficial, and easier done, than the latter, since I noticed you've started linearting some of your designs.

I've been meaning to line artify them, just a bad case of the lazies came over  Maybe this weekend or over Thanksgiving break.

I think it would probably also help if I learned a bit more on guns, as right now I'm basing the stats on RL weapons so I don't end up with lolstats

It is pretty neat for a start-up storefront. In terms of layout, it is indeed good.

However, there are two main points that can be further improved upon the storefront

  • I noticed that each product listed is accompanied only by that of a picture. The best thing to add to this would be the presence of a "to-the-point", simple yet accurate one paragrah writing of:
    • What is the product?
    • How is it extracted?
    • Where is it extracted from?
    • Any edge which the company got from acquiring it (ethical extraction method, etc. etc.)
  • The main storefront OP is too shallow.. you will need to explain, in a brief yet accurate writing, of:
    • What the company is all about
    • Why should prospective client/customer choose the company
    • Why is it a good company
    • What can the company offer
    • What is its uniqueness in comparison to its competitors

Hope that'll help, for now.

If I wanted make Symphonia into a center of international commerce, what would I have to do?

Just so you know......

There are multiple ways to achieve this:

  • Set up an In-Character thread where your government wishes for multinational businesses to open up branches/divisions/facilities/factories/manufacturing base/workshops, etc. etc. within Symphonia.
  • Set up a skyscraper building storefront; A huge multinational, tax-free, corporate centralised property which mainly is constructed in the hope of attracting multiple large multinational companies to set up branches/divisions/offices/ etc. etc. within the said trading centre/skyscraper.
  • Set up an "Economic Special Area" type of thread, where it is pretty much a storefront for an economic zone, specialised economic zone, within Symphonia.

You can choose any of the above, and I am sure there are still more ways out there to accomplish what you wish for.
