“Relax Patel; I know what I’m doing, even though we’re among the massive Empires in the world…no, the Universe; doesn’t mean size matters. Besides we need best weapons we could get, study them by our scientists and create better ones. That’s my plan.” The Ethnic Xoran mancasually replied, sitting in his cushion office chair reading his book ‘The Art of War’

The Indian man named Patel is not convinced. Personally he felt the so many Azdevks were wasted for purchasing so much military hardware. Still, the Imperial Territorial Army needs more war arsenals available if they want to maintain their reputation as the biggest well-equipped army in Iclamia by any means necessary.

“If that’s what you plan to do Tarkan. As the Menteri* of Economy, I should be concern. I will say this money can be better spent for improving the national infrastructures. I was afraid if the country go bankrupt due of our overspending.”

Laying down his book on his mahogany desk and stand up from his seat, He then walks towards the window watching the beautiful skyline of the Holy Imperial Capital. I got to go now and working on revitalizing the economy. See you later.” Patel said then left leaving Tarkan pondering about the nation’s future.

Dierk was standing amidst the commotion left and right. Cargo inspection on his left, destination list re-examination on his right. He and his companion Fred was tall. Measuring up at 188 centimetres with a tanned, medium-built features, they were the ideal couriers for such a task. Background

Designed to meet the needs of defence forces constantly challenged by IED's, mines or small arms ambushes, the Pseudonaja Protected Mobile Vehicle (PMV) is a highly mobile and highly protected light vehicle that provides protection and flexibility in a complex operational environment for up to six soldiers.

The vehicle was developed as a next-generation light mobility vehicle for the Southern Cynocephali Defence Force (SCDF), which can be airlifted by standard cargo aircraft. It can travel at a speed of 100km/h over a range of up to 1,000km.

The Pseudonaja has been extensively tested against improvised explosive devices (IED) and small arms fire to ensure that its design allows maximum protection. Tests were conducted by SCDF personnel to gather the data and modernise the blast management system equipped in the vehicle.

The vehicle is named after a genus of venomous elapid snakes native to Southern Cynocephali. Members of this genus are known commonly as brown snakes and are often extremely well camouflaged in their surroundings. These snakes, even when young, are extremely venomous are widely considered to be the most dangerous snake in the country. With this in mind, lead designer and development manager Jean Dieu de Soult felt the name was fitting for the project.


Concept

The design encompasses high levels of blast and ballistic protection; the integral V-shaped monocoque hull and blast absorption system provide objective level blast protection. The Pseudonaja's hull is designed to protect the vehicle from blasts while incorporating high levels of tactical and operational mobility, and allow easy conversion between variants. The vehicle's adaptable ballistic protection technology is designed for air transportation, and is reconfigurable by a two-person crew in under half an hour without using specialised devices or equipment.

The vehicle is also designed to incorporate the future system requirements of adaptive operations with C4I (command, control, communications, computers and intelligence) capabilities. The modular design allows ease of configuration for specific missions.


Lethality

The standard variant includes a crew operated 12.7mm AY14-HMG; a remotely controlled weapon station (RCWS) can be optionally installed in the vehicle.

The Yohannesian 12.7mm AY14-HMG (heavy machine gun) possesses a field of firing range of over 2,800m at a rate of 570 rpm. The AY14-HMG was conceptualised as a vehicle mounted machine gun, although it can still be utilised by ground infantries, it is nonetheless deemed as ineffective in such a role, a negative side-effect of its heavy weight of approximately 50 kilograms.

The AY14-HMG is utilised by virtue of its recoil system, which incorporate a double sliding piece chamber together with a fixed barrel. The gun’s barrel extension, which utilises a systematic special holding cavity, will then be filled with the chamber’s left and right operations, with the left side operating as an ejector and the right side operating as the round’s main support.

The right side is also attached by an arched camming initiation which operates as a control and ejection accelerator, towards the chamber. The slide utilised as both the extractor and ejector mean is attached to the recoil spring, and is initiated as the round’s selection primary function, which of course, can be utilised as the round’s extraction system as well.

The chamber’s second half is initiated as the accelerator of the round’s progress, and as a feeding belt mean to link it with one another within its cycle. A selector firing pin will then ignite once the process is completed, and this cycle will start all over again.

The cycle’s force is acquired from the motion in which the round is pushing itself against the operating holder, and pressurise both the two sides together up until the pressure is lowered to a sufficiently safe level.

This will then allow both of the halves to be motioned back again. The accelerating role is seized by the cammed side, which will then fling the other side back together with it. Used rounds are ejected down, or to the left and right side, optionally to be chosen by each individual operating the gun.

The gun’s feed mechanism can also be motioned towards both side, with as little changes to its operation as possible, thereby increasing the gun’s effectiveness in terms of manpower and time cost.

The aforementioned operation is considered to be quiet heavy in practicality, although the reason it was chosen was due to the fact that it generate an increasing rate of accuracy of the fixed barrel, and also will generate timesaving operation for a quick change of barrel. This moderately heavy barrel is utilised both to optimise surface area and decrease the operation cooling period and heat dispersion initiation.

A front forward grip is also utilised and fixed to act as assistance towards the barrel’s change operation. It is also used to remove the need of protecting arm glove utilisation.

A dual trigger mechanism is utilised towards the AY14-HMG, consequently requiring both of the triggers’ depressing method operation to allow for the first shot initiation.

However, automatic firing operation will be sustained throughout the rest of the gun’s utilisation with only a single trigger, which will henceforward allow for a better energy saving of manpower, whilst simultaneously drastically increasing the gun’s safeties level.

The RCW (remote control weapon) station is composed of two parts: the mount which is fixed to the exterior of the vehicle and the control group. The mount is capable of 360 degree azimuth rotation and −20 to +60 degree elevation. It is gyro-stabilized, and accepts a variety of crew-served weapons, including 12.7mm AY14-HMG, 40m AGMG, 7.62mm MG and M249 SAW. The sensor unit includes a daylight video camera, thermal imagery for night operations and an eye-safe laser range-finder. It is also furnished with a fully integrated fire control system that provides ballistic correction.

The RCWS includes a display, switches and joystick to provide full remote control of the weapon system, and the control group mounts inside the vehicle which enables the fighting crew to operate from inside the Pseudonaja, while still carrying out patrols, acquiring targets, and firing a variety of weapons more efficiently.


Protection

The armour protection is tuneable by the replacement of armour packs within the vehicle's external skin. The basic armour pack provides ballistic protection against small arms fire and a heavier kit provides protection against ambush including mines. The CANARM is a modular composite armour concept, developed by SCDS for the Pseudonaja project. CANARM is a composite armour, making use of nano-ceramics and modern steel alloy technologies.

CANARM utilises advanced steel alloys, aluminium-titanium alloys, nano-metric steels, ceramics and nano-ceramics. The use of high-hardened steel, combined with an aluminium-titanium alloy, culminates in twice the protection as RHA of the same weight. CANARM also makes use of nano-ceramics which are harder and lighter than homogeneous ceramics, while having multi-hit capability; the nano-crystalline ceramic materials increase the hardness compared to current ceramics by 70% and the weight reduction is 30%, while the higher fracture toughness increases the general multi-hit capability.

By overlaying nano-ceramic armour against the vehicle's base armour (which is backed up by a spall-liner) a weight reduction of more than 40% is achieved and protection can be gained up to STANAG 4569/LVL 4, the higher levels of which provide effective protection against IEDs. The CANARM system also goes inside the vehicle, where specially designed multi purpose seats provide blast protection; the seats are not attached directly to the vehicle floor or roof, so shock-energy can be absorbed before reaching the vehicle occupants.

The Pseudonaja's glass is a composite of modern ceramic armour, which reduces the weight without compromising protection, and meets STANAG 4569/LVL 4.

Engine

The Pseudonaja's powerplant is a 6.1-litre inline 6-cylinder diesel engine from VLT Automotive N.V. Delivering 320 horsepower and torque of 1400 Nm, the engine is EURO V compliant. The inline starter offers sufficient level of electrical power to drive the C4I and mission equipment.

The field tests of the new vehicles seemed to be going well. Although certainly not up to YellowApple's standards of hydrogen combustion or lightweight materials, those were both situations that could be easily remedied.

The design teams quickly went to work on dismantling to of each vehicle - two AY2-1Es, two AY2-E1s, and two AY151As - and began immediate work on retrofitting them with the necessary prototypes.

The first prototype system to be installed on the to-be-modified vehicles was the custom AppleDrive hydrogen combustion engine, an impressive hydrogen-burning Wankel engine, estimated to provide approximately 1500 kilowatts of propulsion power, and modified to accept the existing VMK transmission systems, chiefly the Forza 8GDCT Automated Double Clutch Transmission present on the AY2-1E battle tank. The existing fuel intake systems were also stripped out and replace with the corresponding AppleDrive hydrogen hybrid fuel type storage system, which was capable of storing a variety of different hydrogen densities, including the liquid and slush forms, the latter-most which would be the most regularly used fuel with YellowApplan use.

The second enhancement was the specially-designed AppleShield graphene/buckypaper hybrid external armor layer, constructed from alternating layers of double-atomic-ply graphene and mass-produced nanotube buckypaper. The structural systems were also under reconstruction, to be replaced with a custom carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic and nanotube hybrid frame. The finished modified version would be lighter, tougher, and faster, though certainly a bit more expensive. Then again, this was a prototype; mass production was bound to reduce the costs.

The third modification was the most exciting: the YellowApplan Morita T-III Magnetic Repulsion Vehicular Cannon, a rather peculiar weapon designed to fire off solid slugs using magnetic force rather than explosive combustion. Such technology was still highly experimental, being applied in design trials in a variety of weapons ranging from small-caliber pistols to the bombardment guns on YellowApple's infamous Fuji-class airships. This was one such design trial.

Of course, these designs would be absolutely worthless without the rights to produce them, and thus, a new letter was dispatched to VMK AG in order to obtain such capabilities.

The field tests of the new vehicles seemed to be going well. Although certainly not up to YellowApple's standards of hydrogen combustion or lightweight materials, those were both situations that could be easily remedied.

The design teams quickly went to work on dismantling to of each vehicle - two AY2-1Es, two AY2-E1s, and two AY151As - and began immediate work on retrofitting them with the necessary prototypes.

The first prototype system to be installed on the to-be-modified vehicles was the custom AppleDrive hydrogen combustion engine, an impressive hydrogen-burning Wankel engine, estimated to provide approximately 1500 kilowatts of propulsion power, and modified to accept the existing VMK transmission systems, chiefly the Forza 8GDCT Automated Double Clutch Transmission present on the AY2-1E battle tank. The existing fuel intake systems were also stripped out and replace with the corresponding AppleDrive hydrogen hybrid fuel type storage system, which was capable of storing a variety of different hydrogen densities, including the liquid and slush forms, the latter-most which would be the most regularly used fuel with YellowApplan use.

The second enhancement was the specially-designed AppleShield graphene/buckypaper hybrid external armor layer, constructed from alternating layers of double-atomic-ply graphene and mass-produced nanotube buckypaper. The structural systems were also under reconstruction, to be replaced with a custom carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic and nanotube hybrid frame. The finished modified version would be lighter, tougher, and faster, though certainly a bit more expensive. Then again, this was a prototype; mass production was bound to reduce the costs.

The third modification was the most exciting: the YellowApplan Morita T-III Magnetic Repulsion Vehicular Cannon, a rather peculiar weapon designed to fire off solid slugs using magnetic force rather than explosive combustion. Such technology was still highly experimental, being applied in design trials in a variety of weapons ranging from small-caliber pistols to the bombardment guns on YellowApple's infamous Fuji-class airships. This was one such design trial.

Of course, these designs would be absolutely worthless without the rights to produce them, and thus, a new letter was dispatched to VMK AG in order to obtain such capabilities.

Halstad culture has for long emphasised hospitability towards inbound visitor and liberal open-mindedness socially. It was no wonder that the son of Halsten's Grand Duke himself announced his engagement to one of the family castle's household maid, much to the surprise of Halsten's three main media channels and newspaper agencies.

Today has been a good one as so far. The sun has been shining for the morning's duration, ever since 7am to be exact, and the peaceful sound of local birds surrounded the outdoor kitchen's vicinity. Alfred Hindenberg has started the morning with his usual kitchen core; washing extra dishes and kitchenwares, sanitising as much of the kitchen's surface desk area as possible.

An apprentice chef and the second son within a typical blue-collar Yohannesian family, the boy has held upon this dream ever since he first watched the Halstad Cable's Travel Channel Eight. He marvelled at the liberty given towards the featured travelling chef of the day, their liberty and priviledge. But most importantly of all, he was captivated with the mysterious wonder of the world's many cuisines.
