August 7-End of our re-organization and start of relationship with international military community.

We plan to join some alliances,are there good alliances that want Ratnica to be it's member.

First nuclear bomb was launched today-14:30(Central European Time-CET).

Testing will be around 18:45,today.

Now we have one nuclear bomb.

Yesterday,much of our military airplanes were launched and also a few tanks.

We are focused just on war,so all other is in crisis,just weapons and nuclear weapons are good.So,on August 4,we are getting 2nd one.

Wow, tough guy, sounds like you've been here for a while. I've kind of forgotten, but I seem to recall a rule of thumb being that nations can't go RPing off nukes until they've reached 100 million in population. Personally I'm not sure what the big deal is. I mean, whatever.

I've just got one question though. If it was launched at 2:30, but first testing didn't occur til later, what was the target?

OOC: Yeah, from what I'm told it's comon courtesy to wait until you have a population of at least 100 million before you can have nuclear weapons. Personally I didn't declare that I had developed nukes until around the 300 million mark, and that's only because before that I didn't think they were necessary. It's funny how a regional war can change your perspective on that kind of thing

OOC: Kim Jong Il doesn't have a flourishing economy, nor did he commit the equivalent of $32 billion to a research scheme to develop his nuclear bombs from scratch. The UK, about as first-world as it gets, had to trade for the secrets to the thermonuclear bomb. When people don't RP having a bigger nation pass those secrets on, then we assume they have done it Manhattan-style - from the absolute basics - and that cannot normally be achieved without the manpower and tax income from a nation of sub-100 million population.

The Manhattan Project required the equivalent of $32 billion in today's terms - which for a small nation on NS is about the GDP of the country - just to come up with the blueprints. It needs to be considered that, even when your military budget reaches this amount, you still have the rest of your military to fund - troops, acquisitions, maintenance of vehicles, ships, planes, all of that, and the rest. Normally, unless a nation can RP why they would get that earlier, and do so properly, 100 million is the assumption of the population you require to have the funding and the technical expertise to create your first Fat Man.

OOC: Kim Jong-Il can't get the weapons into the air, and probably took half the technology from somewhere else. So if somebody were to share technology with Ratnica, the process could have happened.

I never declared I had nukes. One day, I just did.

ICly, I've had them since the late 1940s. But they were atomic bombs, most of which were detonated all over the now DEATed The Inquisitorius in an un-RPed IC event in the 70's (icluding a very nasty purposeful 'dirty' bomb made to irradiate huge areas).
