The village was filled with smoke. Mud buildings crumbling and the cries of the locals turned the almost silent afternoon into a chaotic maelstrom of noise. In the center ten camouflage clad men squatted in a defensive perimeter, surrounding one man with a bright crimson pin upon his collar, marking him out as the leader of this detachment. His men all held AL11 rifles the production rights to the freshly stamped weapons purchased from Lyras Arms by the Neo Bolshevist State only several weeks before, the officer however held a squat pistol in one hand and a small child in the other.
The men stared uneasily at the mob of locals who surrounded them, none were armed but sheer numbers could make this detachment’s task difficult. The local language was incomprehensible to the Neo Bolshevist soldiers and for all they knew the lamentations of the mob were calls for their blood. This unnerved the men but their officer remained ice cold. One did not become an officer of a Ministry of Contentment Liquidation Detachment by getting upset. With a soft sigh he waved his men into a tighter formation, their weapons pointed outwards into the mob. Determining that the tactical situation was well in hand he turned his attention to the girl.
She was young, no more than twelve. Her small body was held easily by one of his gloved hands, the rough fabric no doubt making her scared never mind the pistol he held in his other hand. The Officer’s eyes were clear and crisp, he knew exactly what he was going to do. Patting her on the head softly almost lovingly he grabbed hold of the sides of her face and forced the barrel of the pistol into her mouth. Nodding to the Village elders he smiled, and squeezed the trigger.
The bang was muffled by the girl’s skull, bits of hair and brains flying outward almost in slow motion. The thick soupy mess coated the Officer’s face but he did not register it. Instead he simply nodded to his men. There was a brief moment, the locals not believing what they had just seen. The moment was shattered by the massed automatic volley of the nine men. 7.62x39 rounds sprayed outwards, into the assembled civilians. The Ministry Liquidation Detachment was ruthless in their precision and not a round was wasted. The men were targeted first, then the women and last the children, the macabre mission lasted only several seconds before the mob was put down and the Ministry men stood alone in the now vacant village.
Smiling the Officer flashed a quick hand signal to the second fire team of the ten man unit, five men broke off to establish a defensive perimeter and watch for other locals, the other five slung rifles and broke out the tools of their trade. Squatting alongside the dead, they stripped them of their clothes and effects, laying them out in rows. Telephone poles were felled with small saws and rough crucifixes were prepared. Finding the corpses of the Villages Elders and their families, the First Fire Team hammered railroad nails through their hands and feet, raising the bloody banners high in the center of the town.
The Neo Bolshevists then regrouped and to complete their act desecrated the local Mosque by tossing the violated bodies of the village women who had been unlucky enough to survive by sheer luck into it. Flares were lighted and the Mosque burned. The Black Banner was raised as well as a decree in the local Urdu that marked the village as a supporter of the Resistance. Through it all the Officer smiled. He radioed the divisional command point and ten minutes later a deadly MI-24 and KA-52 roared overhead. The Hind flew in low and set down in the center of the village where the Liquidation Detachment boarded, the KA-52 circled and fired a salvo of rockets into the Mud buildings that came apart with ease.
The choppers banked and returned to Headquarters, their mission complete.
The Neo Bolshevist State, like any state was dependent upon energy. Unlike other states however the Neo Bolshevist State did not require just energy and minerals but warfare to continue it’s survival. Gholgoth, one of the most powerful regions on earth was slim pickings for the Neo Bolshevist State, far to the south however sat an unknown desert region that was home only to some Islamic Nations that were also home to vast stocks of energy be it oil or natural gas. The Neo Bolshevist State inserted itself into the region via Diplomatic Vessel some ten month prior, quickly establishing a client state in the local nation Pashtustan.
After a brief period of Military support the Neo Bolshevist State’s Red Army led a Pashtustani Military Coup which saw a brief Military Dictatorship installed which was soon assimilated into the Neo Bolshevist State outright. The neighboring states were reasonably afraid of the tendril of Neo Bolshevist influence but they could not move against the might of the Red Army alone. Party Planners assessed the situation and it was determined that the mountainous Kingdom of Urdustan that bordered the Neo Bolshevist State of Pashtustan needed to be secured in order to safeguard the gains of the Red Army in Oil rich Pashtustan. As such an Expeditionary Army was prepared and deployed to the Capital of Urdustan, وطن.
Here the Neo Bolshevist State installed a puppet government and quickly set to managing the provinces, making them toe the line of Neo Bol. Naturally the people resisted and when a local Holy Man and Leader Sheik-General Mahmud Mohammed Abdul called for Jihad, revolution raged. The Red Army responded with a campaign of regicide, purging the upper ranks of the Resistance. The Urdustani Fighters fled into the many mountain caves and isolated villages that covered the expansive Nation.
They would in time see that to fight Neo Bolshevism was to fight death, and there was only one outcome for both fights.
