oh i have heard it all. retired after nearly thirty years in the military.
i have seen it become more and more common in place in normal language over my 50+ years and its saddening really that one of the greatest accomplishments of humankind, language, is being eroded and slowly brought down to a base level.

the NW Canadian Quarrel system is similar but deployed as a FOBS from shuttles. They can be equipped with either conventional, cluster kinetic, thermobaric, or nuclear. We have not used any nuclear weapons, and wont unless there 100 percent agreement from all allied powers

All mine are conventional warheads designed to destroy the immediate buildings attacked. Namely all major government buildings and military head quarters. Cause as much death amongst the command and control as possible before my Marines land.

Except if you didn't arbitrarily decide that "cursing" was "base" then we wouldn't have that problem. Because that's all it is. Arbitrary designation as negative of a combination of sounds that happens to not sound overly pleasant. Stop thinking about it that way, and everything's peachy. And really, if you want to marvel at the wonders of the English language, then the word "fuck" is the place to start, being eminently versatile and meaningful in all contexts.

Well most missiles launched by ships aren't nuclear. Actually very, very few are. They're just conventional ballistic missiles that cause a LOT of damage, but not on a nuclear level.

Okay, I laugh. First I requested a gag on posting on this thread this morn, so I was a little pissed with all teh activity. Second, I'm quite sure Eve can handle a cussword, as it is the unfortunate habit of mine to dispense such a term on occasion, and she uses such a lexicon frequently herself. Lastly, I can quite assure you I'm the youngest here, and the language does not bother me one bit. I shall, however, endeavour to limit the usage of such words if pleasing to you.

@Aq: In a bit, I'm sure NS and the internet at large contains other things to do. I'm trying to emcompass most everything that has happened, which will take some time.

Tez, as I somehow missed the part about the capital being under water, could you possibly, while responding to me, simply assume I meant your new seat of government or if more pleasing just have my missiles/attackers strike government/military bases and positions across the country in general?
