Rear Admiral Chris Fischer gazed at his portrait of Rear Admiral James Dormor, savior of the Demphorian Sea. He then looked around and gazed out at the bridge.

"Have picked anything up?"

"No sir," said the radarsmen, "We're about 100 miles from New Orleans, and we just heard signals that FM attacked a Centropyge fleet, taking heavy casualties."

"What was the cause?"

"We don't know sir,"

"Bah!" He said to himself, "The last thing we need now is to end up like their fleet."

He then left the bridge, and went to the deck. The horn from DMS Inflexible sounded of the Port Bow.

Thank you for your inquiry. We apologize for the confusion. Our forces were in the area to lend support to Free Missouri in case diplomacy failed. Because Free Missouri failed to even make an attempt at diplomacy, and because our fleet took casualties and damage as the result of an EMP attack by Free Missouri about which we were not forewarned, we have decided to withdraw our naval assets from the region and to remain neutral in this conflict until further notice and possibly permanently.

Royal Navy Force D is currently on its way out of the Gulf. It is moving slowly due to having to restore certain electrical systems, aboard our older, non-hardened vessels, damaged by the EMP. We are also towing a damaged frigate at the slow speed of ten knots. We are, however, about 320 mi. from the Mississippi River delta and, we hope, well outside the combat zone. We are planning to leave some vessels at a distance from the combat zone for West Reich to use as they need for hospital space and repairs--and are hoping that this doesn't violate our neutrality, though we are willing to discuss this.

Be advised, therefore, that our fleet is proceeding under the white flag of neutrality, although most of its vessels are at full combat readiness as we proceed slowly towards the edge of the Gulf.

"The fuck was that?" The admiral in the carrier Trident asked in a whisper. The Maychian ships were out of range of the EMP blast wave, thankfully, but they could still see the missile explode somewhere off in the distance. "EMP missiles, huh? Well, then they did learn something from us from the last war." He muttered, though anyone could tell he was itching to use the word 'copy' rather than 'learn'. "Volkafski, status on the Typhoon missiles?"

"Ready and waiting to fire, sir."

The admiral nodded. "Right then. Let's give the Mizzies a little surprise. Can you trace the missile to it's origin?" The Gunnery Officer nodded. "Good. Send a letter of warning to allied fleets in the sector. I want it tight, I want it secure, I want it so damn encrypted that there are encryptions for the encryptions of the encryptions." He said seriously. "In fact, send two. One lower level encryption, one higher." Everyone on the bridge smirked. It was a classic Maychian tactic. The first message would be a dud sent to nowhere, followed after a period of time the second, much more encrypted and actual message.

Then, half an hour later, the second message was sent.

The blast wave WILL encompass most of the gulf, so recommend you get ships not hardened against a class-1 EMP strike out of there. -Rear Admiral Dawid Lukawisz

And, just to be safe, the Admiral contacted the leader of Task Force Prodigy with an even more encrypted and coded message to request they conduct low-level bombardments to aid in the deception. Targets would be acquired from satellite uplinks and the hundreds of UCAVs in the air.

At that exact moment, task force Prodigy steamed into visual range of the NW Canadian fleet. "NW Canadian fleet, this is Maychion Task Force Prodigy. We have you in sight." Värstet said into the mic. There was no need for encrypted messages for such a simple thing. To his Gunnery officer, he said, "You heard Task Force Savant. Fire." It only took seconds for the order to be transmitted to the ships of the fleet, and a minute later, dozens of missiles were in the air and heading for Missourian military installations. Värstet smirked. It didn't matter if the missiles missed or were intercepted. They were cheap and expendable.

At the same time, Task Force Savant unleashed three of their Typhoon-class missiles. The expensive munitions were fully stealthed and would climb to above radar detection range before coming down towards it's target, exploding beneath the waves to amplify it's deadly blastwave and releasing an high-intensity EMP. And, in the Maychian 'to be safe' spirit, they were designed with a proximity detector which would activate the failsafe once close to an enemy vessel. If intercepted, it would activate the EMP blast anyway.

The Admiral sprinted across the deck, bring much amusement to the men.

At the bridge, he read the message.

"Damn! The last thing we need is no allys, send them a message."

Then, another message came in.

The Admiral read the one from the Maychian Fleet.

"Good, were nearly to port."

Admiral Hayes saw his bridge officers suddenly react with concern to a readout on one of their screens. As he was about to ask what was going on, his First Officer answered the question before it was asked.

"Sir, a large fleet belonging to the nation of Dewhurst-Narculis has begun launching missiles toward targets in Free Missouri. We lost contact with the missiles shortly after launch, but we managed to gather enough information on three of the missiles to determine that they were heading toward the city of Joplin."

"How many missile launches did you detect?"

"Well, it looked like hundreds, sir, but we can't be sure. Their fleet was outside the EMP blast zone, and in fact we should be passing by their position in a few hours on our way out of the Gulf."

The Admiral sighed. "Make sure this information gets to the Emperor ASAP. And remember, this is technically none of our business anymore. I'm still damn pissed about that EMP, and even more pissed that some of our ships were still vulnerable to it. Heck, had we been closer to the epicenter of the pulse, things could have been worse."

"Aye aye, sir."

Back in Bispinosa, Emperor Fawkes read the latest updates with a mixture of anger and relief. He hated to show up to a theatre of operations only to leave without taking action, but this EMP gave him a convenient excuse to quit the area. Still, he had to do his due diligence as a member of the Anti-Terrorist Alliance and author of the Fawkes Doctrine against state terrorism and war crimes...

Once far enough away, plans were made to stop and make emergency repairs to the HMS Ribble to allow the task force to resume a higher cruising speed. A steady Combat Air Patrol was maintained, in case of unforeseen events.

The "military" targets assualted by the above, were decoys

Joplin, springfield and poplar bluff were evacusted just in time, and were little more than rural epicenters.

Another sub, this time hardened, fired three more EMPs directly above the gulf from its retreat position.

Very well. The MNS Recovery has been dispatched with a complement of a few hundred engineers and medical personnel. It's a fairly large ship, you can't miss it. Essentially it's a drydock on the water. Stop the HMS Ribble, the Recovery will attempt to get it into it's onboard drydock by submerging it's flat center section and moving it under the ship before raising it.

They rolled in. On helicopters, tracks and wheels, hundreds of New Hayesalians went into Jopling and Poplar Bluff. Not a person in sight.

As they fortified the cities, they began maintaining forward stations. More supplies would come in, and make Poplar Bluff and Joplin excellent bases. The tanks would wait for the NW Canadians to take St. Louis to move, and the Thor platforms were itching to fire.

OVER THE GULF

A stupid Mizzie move. A SLAMS satellite in orbit had spotted the missiles being fired. Within a few seconds, a high powered, brilliant blue chemical laser was bearing down on the missiles. It would simply dissolve them from the heat, and the accompanying tungsten-corundum rods that came down on the last known position of the submarine would destroy whatever it hit- and the sub wouldn't be fast enough to get out.

In anticipation of being met for repairs, the HMS Ribble and the fleet tug towing it came slowly to a full stop. Admiral Hayes wished to continue the withdrawal of his fleet, but he was also loath to leave a small River-class frigate alone near the edge of the Gulf. He finally decided to split his force, leaving the damaged ships HMS Aberrant, Bruiser, Melbourne, and one of the Sea Lion-class escort carriers to complete temporary repairs while waiting for the frigate to be made seaworthy again. To protect those ships, the battlecruisers Seadog and Spartan, the cruisers Flavissima and Brisbane, the destroyers Arbiter, Basilisk, and Basil II, the frigates Defiant and Patapsco, and one Sea Lion escort carrier remained behind along with a pair of supply ships and one undercover armed merchantman.

In the meantime, the rest of the fleet prepared to increase speed from 10 knots to 20 knots, figuring that once repairs were completed the ships left behind would be able to catch up by moving at high speed, and then the entirety of Force D could return home at their normal cruising speed. The two supply ships and the Armed Merchant Cruiser, due to a lower top speed than the rest of the ships left behind, would have to make the return trip alone most likely.

Plans made, the ships of Force D had just begun to decelerate, change course, and/or accelerate as was their plan, when off in the distance yet another trio of Tomahawk missiles carrying EMP warheads detonated above the Gulf. Thankfully, the fleet was further from the epicenters of the pulses than before, but again some of the older ships in the fleet were affected, though less seriously than before. One of the supply ships, one destroyer, and a frigate lost control for a moment, the other ships that would have been affected having already been operating on backup systems due to the disruption from the earlier attack. Thankfully, however, the fleet was still moving at a fairly slow speed, although Admiral Hayes had neglected to adopt a more wide formation. Since no fleet maneuvers were being conducted, however, once word of the situation had gone around, the captains were able to execute evasive action as needed and no collisions were reported, although the whole force had to come to a stop again in order to allow the stricken ships to get their systems functional or switch to manual control.

Finally, it was decided to hitch all three remaining available fleet tugs to the HMS Aspen, the destroyer that had been affected, and with the combined effort of those ships the task force was able to attain a uniform speed of 20 knots as planned. Admiral Hayes, however, swore never to be humiliated by these weapons again, and he wished that the Royal Navy's planned Voyager-class science frigates had been commissioned already so that he would have been able to analyse the EMP's aftereffects and determine for sure whether the blasts were nuclear, as he suspected they had to have been. While not used in a manner consistent with the label of "WMD," still, the use of anything nuclear in combat except in very limited circumstances was something the Empire categorically condemned. Then again, Free Missouri WAS outnumbered...greatly...and it was likely they would pull off increasingly unconventional and desperate attacks in order to maintain their sovereignty. What a mess!

EDIT: OOC--whoops, it appears that TWO different nations fired at the latest round of EMP missiles. I am sure y'all managed to hit those three between you, so the minor disruption caused to my fleet by the EMPs likely did NOT happen.

The Admiral heard reports from a lone low-flying UAV that the subs had been sunk just before the UAV was shot down. He shrugged. "Gunnery Officer, if possible, redirect missiles to the nearest harbor facility or nearest industrial park. Shut down all their electronics." He ordered. The officer nodded and typed in a few commands. Thankfully, the missiles had just breached the exosphere and was in the small period where they could receive new targets. The came straight down, accelerating faster then it did on the way up thanks to gravity. Then, they all exploded in mid-air, shutting down electronics in a one mile area, two came over a harbor facility, one over an industrial park.

The admiral didn't bother asking for damage reports from the UCAVs and UAVs. He just wanted to give the Missourians a fright before the real deal. "Heh, that should've ruffled their feathers. Destroyers, check for more sub activity. They can mask heat, they can't mask their ambient noise. Let's see if those Sonar and Audio detection upgrades the Techs did were worth their price." He said into the mic. It was said that the upgrades allowed destroyers to pick up even the most minute of artificial noise.

"Sir! Incoming EMP missiles!" An officer yelled out. "Unknown on where it'll hit. In range of Rangemaster anti-missile shield."

"You don't need my orders for this, Lieutenant. Shoot them out of the sky." The admiral ordered. Instantly, an array of lasers on the Arsenal ships and Battlecruisers opened up on the direction of the missiles, some of the lasers finding their mark and obliterating them before they could do any real damage. "Subs seem to be the Mizzie's main form of attack now. Send our own hunter-killers."

"Aye, aye."

The Recovery slowed as it approached the Ribble and lowered the central section till it was submerged and well below the hull of the crippled vessel. It turned sideways and moved so that the platform would slip gently under the Ribble. It was an operation the crew of the Recovery had done many times. Then, dive teams went underwater to secure the Ribble to the platform so that it would not move while it was being raised and thus cause damage to both vessels. Slowly, the powerful hydraulic presses lifted the ship out of the water. Almost instantly, engineers moved towards the damaged sections to begin repairs.

At the same time, several helicopters from the large MNS Recovery sent teams of engineers specializing in repairing EMP-induced damage to the other vessels to see what they can do to help.

Admiral Hayes granted the engineers from the Recovery permission to assist his technical teams aboard most of the ships affected by the original EMP strike. While many of them failed to incur significant damage, the Royal Navy technicians had never had to repair EMP damage in the field and were therefore quite inexperienced at this type of work. Thankfully, all Royal Navy vessels from frigate on up are equipped with helipads and hangars, so even if they were already carrying one or more aircraft the helipad would still be free to receive the engineering teams.

From hundreds of terminals the NW Canadian Cyber-warfare Division started the NW Canadian offensive actions. NW Canada had taken actions to secure their networks generally but when the conflict started Data war protocols were put into place securing vital systems and assets. Some were effectively isolated from the outside world and routed over the NW Canadian self-contained Strategic Information Network.

The Combat sysops using hundreds of Loadstone supercomputers and standalone systems landed targeted and flood based attacks against any and all computer systems they could access in the Missourian nation as they had failed to secure their networks. Power utilities were attacked and blackouts started to blossom across Free Missouri. Water purification plants crashed. Traffic control was none existent. Civilian and public service internet and Intranet service in some cases came to a crashing halt!

The Combat Sysops then would move on to target government and military computers. Where ever possible information was stolen, placed in isolation for sanitization and investigation, and the original files destroyed. Charon Linux had been specifically built for cyber warfare and the millions in its development paid dividends this night. NW Canada had paid attention to the lessons learned in the 1990s and early 2000s from cyber attacks by North Korea and China on the United States.

In remote locations in the Manitoban NW Canadian Territory the firing orders were given, and from 72 mobile TEL vehicles 216 CKh-90 HVCM Hypersonic Cruise Missiles launched into the sky. Their solid fuel boosters burning out and falling away the CKh-90s accelerated to their Mach 5+ cruising speed and streaked off into the night to their targets in Free Missouri. The CK-90s carried a mix of warheads. Some carried dual 150kg BROACH guided, terminal booted penetration warheads. Others carried 500kg Broach terminal boosted penetration warheads. These missiles were targeted at the Free Missourian hardened installations. The rest carried single independently targeted 500kg Thermobaric warhead and were tasked with destroying Free Missourian power generation and fuel storage facilities.

High above Minnesota north of the Free Missourian Nation in airspace that had been in the control of Coalition forces since the destruction of the Missourian Rebels ranks of aircraft filled the sky from low to sub-orbital altitudes heading to the Free Missourians.

Far back in the waves of aircraft NW Canadian Airships as well as NW Canadian Air Command CEV-22 AEW, and CCEV-65 Aurora AEW aircraft used their powerful airborne radars in conjunction with NW Canadian ground based Passive (multistatic) radar, bistatic, radar, multistatic Radar systems and mobile SMART-L radar units filled the sky with energy from the surface to the sub-orbital. In orbit SBR (Space based radar) sats, ELINT/SIGINT sats, Imaging sats, as well as low orbit NIRST tactical sats all searched and noted the enemy locations and numbers. The multi-modal detection systems tied into a virtual mesh that tracked not only air and naval but ground vehicular as well. As it was proven in the 80s Balkan conflicts when US stealth aircraft were brought down, multi-mode detection would detect any of the enemy’s aircraft or missiles.

The second from the front ranks were made up of COGs (combined operational groups) based around EB-52M Electrofortresse Heavy SEAD aircraft. Twelve such COGs composed of two EB-52s and escorting eight plane flights of F-220 Diablo advanced fighters.

The air filled with energy as the EB-52Ms lit up their jamming pods. Each plane carried two large pods under the new carbon-composite wings. Each pod contained a complete improved AESA version of the ALQ-99E jamming system. Each unit had a maximum power output in excess of 10.8 kW. AN/ALQ-218 wideband and receivers that “vacuumed” the air for electronic emissions. When detected the emissions were processed, identified and classified as to type and threat by the onboard computers. Those emissions that were deemed a threat or of high priority were then selected either automatically or by one of the onboard Electronic warfare specialists and one of the jammer systems AESA based emitters was tuned to it and energy flooded the airwaves drowning out/jamming the enemy sensor or communication system.

The EB-52M could do many things besides jamming. One of its roles was electronically eavesdrop on the enemy logging and recording sensor and communications transmissions, tracing them back to their sources. The huge bomb bay that was a feature of a EB-52 had been compartmentalized and split into two separate bays. The forward bay each held eight CKh-15 300km Mach 5 cluster ARMs (300kg CBU Cluster warheads) and the rear bay held thirty two CGBU-39 SDBs (Small Diameter Bombs) which had a 60km range. Though armed the EB-52Ms primary mission was to fry the airspace of Free Missouri and disrupt their sensor and communications networks regardless if they were surface, maritime or aircraft based. All the Missourians would see and hear in most cases was static.

The waves around the COGs were composed of 180 CSu-35BM Terminators and 180 CF-39 Griffon fighters mainly. The fighters were flying air-superiority and escort missions for the waves that required.

The Python 5 and R-77 “Arramski “ missiles the fighters carried out ranged the AIM-9X and AIM-120s in the Free Missourian inventories and BVH engagements were the norm as missiles streaked off into the night. Intermixed with the fighters were 72 CSu-34M Fullback strike fighters equipped with AAMs for defense and CKh-15 to which hammer Missourian targets of opportunity.

The first waves of aircraft were composed of 150 Stealthed F-209 Rapier UAVs configured for surface attack carrying ALQ-99 jammer pods and CYJ-91 radar homing Anti-Radiation Missiles (ARMS), and CGBU-39 SDBs. These aircraft flew flight profiles using Probability of Intercept systems that besides their already impressive stealth construction would analyze the sensor signals of the enemy and the UAVs would adjust their altitudes, speeds, and flight profiles to maximize their stealth ability. The UAVs were tasked to target enemy ADA, and communications nodes and systems along the north and north eastern areas of Free Missouri territory. This was to aid not only the NW Canadian operations but the operations of the other Coalition members. Sensors both independent and those associated with ASA formations were targeted. Advanced AD (Air Defense systems) were nearly impudent if they could not detect or get target lock. Communications nodes were next on the list. PGMs targeted datacenters, telcomms, cellular nodes as well as the power distribution nodes that supplied them.

Behind the fighter waves, and well protected, the four formations of the first of the NW Canadian strike packages flew. Each of the packages flew in tight formation. Three of the formations were composed of twelve CB-160 Super Blackjack Bombers (each carrying twelve CTCM-10 Tactical Cruise missile), one EB-52M Electrofortress SEAD aircraft, and a modified CC-65E Aurora. The fourth formation was composed of one of the CC-65Es and twelve CC-65M Cruise missile carriers.

The Cruise missile carrier concept was developed by Boeing in the early 1980s with the conversion of 747 Cargo aircraft to carry and launch seventy-two cruise missiles each from rotary launchers. The CC-65M was the development of this concept. Each of the modified supersonic transports had been modified to carry and launch cruise missiles in the same fashion.

Miles behind the strike packages tanker aircraft orbited along with AWACs aircraft keeping an ever watchful eye over the “children”. All the aircraft had recently tanked up from KCC-65 tankers so they had fuel to burn.

As the aircraft neared their designated launch points, encrypted downlinks transmitted a steady stream of data, constantly updating the target locations and parameters. The Weapons officers on each of the aircraft made certain the updated information had been downloaded into the missiles. Primary mission restriction was to minimize collateral damage in regard to civilian casualties if possible. This made things interesting. The Missourians were animals that had no problem of using their own and captured civilians as human shields to try and protect their forces. The Missourians and no regard for human life! Tonight the warheads were a mix of conventional 410kg HE, Thermobaric, CBU-87/B CEM cluster warheads and CBU-97R Smart Sensor Fuzed Munitions.

If there had been observers, it would have appeared to be a meteor shower as the missiles dropped from the darkened aircraft and their engines ignited. The missiles were CTCM-10 Tactical Cruise missile that had a range of 3000km and traveled at Mach 0.78. Each of the missiles had multiple modes of guidance that worked together. Inertial and satellite guidance worked in concert with terrain contour matching with terminal guidance being augmented by active radar and IIR sensors thus giving the missiles their accuracy of 6 to 9 meters. Some of the missiles had their radar units removed and equipped a live video-camera for battlefield observation loitering that allowed the Strike Package Commanders on the CC-65Es to assess damage to the targets and to redirect the missile to an alternative target.

A total of 1265 missiles from the bombers and carrier aircraft filled the sky heading toward the EBU. Some were tasked with hitting Free Missourian troop concentrations in and around St. Louise mainly. The rest were tasked with hitting Free Missourian fuel and munitions sites, airfields, vehicle parks, artillery emplacements and air defense sites in and around St. Louise and north to aid in General Coalition operations. A handful of the missiles carried bundles of tungsten metal rods. They were tasked with hitting the Free Missourian Power generation and communications installations the enemy had placed deep in civilian areas. The rods would be released at high velocity and like metal hail smash the communications equipment. Not as effective as suing "conventional" warheads but posed less risk to those at the sites.

Only after the missiles had hit their assigned targets could an assessment of their effectiveness be determined. Targets move, guidance and propulsion systems fail.
How many would be shot down by Free Missourian defenses “realistically” considering that besides the NW Canadian missiles, aircraft, and UAVs there were hundreds more saturating Free Missouri from multiple vectors from the other Coalition members?

Warheads fail to detonate. No one could tell how many of the targets would be hit till after the strike. One thing was certain though was this night, regardless of how many missiles struck their targets, would be known to the Free Missourian military as the night of fire and devastation.

NW Canadian fury was still building and it had yet to strike with the heaviest of its conventional arsenal. The Heretic Missourian Butches would pay for their crimes against humanity and heresy regarding the Christian faith.

**Former Holy Roman Confederate Territory West Of Missouri behind the heavily fortified DMZ**

KC-65 Aurora transports were stacked up several deep on the side of the airfield unloading POF troops and equipment onto the ground with a dozen more inbound. These massive transports would be flying round the clock operations to further reinforce the main army already on the ground.

Around the airfield and pretty much along the entire front of the DMZ, forces had been placed on high alert and defenses brought online.

Hardened early warning radar sites along with information wired from our allies information network relayed a steady stream of information to fire control units for various systems along the DMZ to include ADA, ABM, and Artillery Batteries designed by major corporations such as Specialist Dynamics, Trinity Global, and NW Canadian Defense Solutions.

On the ground, Snow Leopard C-2A7 MBT's and Lynx Armored Vehicle's in various configurations could be seen forming up into their respective battle groups as ground crews raced about performing various tasks as they were issued combat loads and brought to full readiness.

MA-3 Grizzly howitzers batteries (which had priority upon arrival) were already in preplanned fighting positions and were ready to rain death down upon anything that wandered into their impressive range.

Behind them, MLRS systems were also locked, cocked, and ready to rock. Each launcher could fire a total of eight missiles before needing to reload. A Battery of three had the destructive power to remove a grid square from the face of the earth.

Meanwhile, on the back side of the standing barracks, tent cities had sprung up to deal with the ever increasing amount of troops that were gathering. Last minute briefing, training and gearing up was being conducted around the clock, with processed personal killing time by building fighting positions and air raid cover.

Overhead, Diablo fighters flew 24/7 patrols around POF Airspace and watched the FM no-fly-zone over the DMZ.

War was coming to Free Missouri's doorstep, and this time, he wouldn't have a nation left to control.

Lord Ghaurion Doomdrinker was happy. Finally, he was going to lead the 1st Army, the "Blood Pact", into battle. Hell, he even had supporting elements from the 2nd and 3rd Armies. All in all, a total of twelve thousand ground troops, all at his command. Tanks were being readied for the secondary air drop, but for now, all that would go would be his infantry in their drop pods.

A voice came in over the speakers in the pod. "All dropping units, this is Khornate Command. Drop pod insertion commencing in two minutes. Good luck out there. Blood for the Blood God!"

"SKULLS FOR HIS SKULL THRONE!" chorused the soldiers in reply.

Ghaurion checked his weapons before he locked in. His chainsword was still holding together and looked like it would for a long time. His pistol was just as good. He only had to wait, and recited the Third Song of Praise to Khorne for Battle.

Vice Admiral Dalgran stood in the Tactical Operations center of the fleet carrier NWCS George Beurling and kept an eye on the tactical displays. The Air-force missile strikes had gotten off to a good start. The CBU-97R sensor fuzed munitions shredded a good number of Free Missourian vehicles and heavy weapons as well as causing a large number of casualties to the Free Missourian troops. Most importantly was the disorder and chaos the strikes caused. Looking at his master display, the NW Canadian Task groups were too far out of range for any of the vessels to be effective. Enemy missiles and aircraft would be detected at extreme ranges. Upon detection they could be engaged by NW Canadian CSu-35BMN Naval Terminators, CF-35B and CF-35C JSF carrier aircraft. Alternatively the targets could be engaged by long range SAMs, ABMs, or the Ra COIL batteries on the Horus Nuclear Battlespace Defense Cruisers. There was no “realistically” way enemy missiles, aircraft, or vessels could approach without being engaged.

The Airgroups of the three carriers flew recon and CAP missions. Flights would launch from the three NW Canadian Fleet Carriers and after launch be tanked up from CCV-22s with fuel bladders and buddy tank equipment before heading out. The fighters’ (Loaded with Python 5 and R-77 “Arramski “missiles) only mission at this point was to protect the Fleet and kill any enemy aircraft encountered.
The NW Canadian Fleet was under way and maneuvering at maximum combat speed. SMART-L, and Aegis Radar systems as well as LADAR on the Horus class vessels worked in conjunction with NW Canadian Navy Airships, CEV-22 AEWs and the CSV-22 Tilt rotors to scan the surface and airspace around the fleet. In the heavens NW Canadian Space Command assets stood on alert and sentinel watch for any threat. Fleet combat assets had lead the way and now provided the last leg of escort for NW Canadian Expeditionary Corps Task Groups.

Airships and CSV-22s also worked the water with dipping sonar, deployable sonar buoys, and MAD (Magnetic Anominally Detection) gear. The dipping sonar would listen and then go active to drive perspective targets from cover. The sonar buoys were a mix of active and passive models. When a submersible is in the water it creates a disturbance in the Earth’s magnetic field, and the MAD gear detected these disturbances. Chemical detectors sniffed the air as the Airships and/or CSV-22 flew over looking to detect diesel fumes exhausted by conventional subs snorkeling as they cant remain submerged line nuclear boats nor as along as AIP submersibles. If a contact was made, it was logged and prosecuted with homing torpedoes, depth bombs, of both conventional delivery and rocket assist. In shallower depths the area of the contact would be saturated by unguided SubRoc-7 variant of the CVR-7 hypervelocity rockets and the new Piranha cluster depth bombs that dispersed dozens of smaller bombs in an area thus increasing the chance of an enemy sub being either caught in the shock waves or even a direct hit detonation.

Modified Cipher II UAVs used dipping “canary probes” to also test for thermal plumbs, radiation, or traces of diesel at depths that could have only been made by submersibles. The Destroyers and Frigates of the NW Canadian Navy also peered into the depths with a variety of Active and Passive hull and towed sonar arrays.

Like their name sakes the Sea Leopard advanced AIP (Air Independent Propulsion) attack submarines creeped slowly patrolling the waters around the NW Canadian fleet. The Sea Leopards carried the latest in detection equipment. Systems initially designed for the Virginia and Astute classes. The nature of their propulsion systems made them many times quieter than nuclear boats. They worked in teams just like patrolling infantry. One would move while the other drifted and listened. Like hunters hounds they released Talisman Unmanned Robotic Submersibles that mounted blue-green LADAR united as well as sonar. The LADAR mapped the surroundings with unmatched accuracy, allowing the detection of enemy submersibles lying “doggo” on the bottom or near an obstruction, or the presence of mines. Speaking of mines, “trap” zones had been established and marked by the Sea Leopards. In these zones 300kg Stonefish influence mines had been laid by the Sea Leopards. The mines were of intelligent design and would detonate if a non-NW Canadian submersible or surface vessel approached.

Further out Moray and Improved Akula II SSNs hunted. The Moray was cutting edge combining the best of the old US, Britain, and Russian nuclear boats, with the best of the old Britain and German conventional classes. The Improved Akula IIs were almost entirely new classes as their hulls had been retrofitted with advanced systems and quieter reactors. Besides the normal torpedoes and missiles subs carried normally the NW Canadian boats carried the lethal VA-111 Shkval-2 super-cavitation torpedoes that traveled at 200+ kt (370 km/h) with a range of 13km. Two versions were in NW Canadian service, convention warhead equipped and ones with a 200 KT nuclear warhead. Not only could this torpedo be used against other subs and ships but it could decimate targets near the water with a nuclear blast such as gutting entire water front cities not only from the normal nuclear detonation effects but a radioactive tsunami as well. As well the subs carried the highly accurate 3M-54 Klub 91RE1 ASW missiles. This model of club carried an ASW torpedo as its payload. It could travel at Mach 2 with a range of 50km, and upon reaching its target area deploy the torpedo that would search out the submarine.

With all the various units working in unison it was highly unlikely in any realistic way an enemy sub could approach the NW Canadian Fleet and not be engaged.

The three NW Canadian SSG (Submersible Strike Group) had taken up postions along the Atlantic coast. They too started to add their load weight to the battle. From the six enormous Kraken class SSGN arsenal submersibles 24 CTCM-10 Tactical Cruise missiles launched from each of the six vessels for a total of 144 BROACH, and CBU cluster warhead equipped missiles. The CTCM-10 Tactical Cruise missiles were targeted against the Free Missourian airbases and airports. The munitions and main warheads would shatter and crater the runways preventing their use as well as destroy buildings, facilities and aircraft. There was no physical realistic way the Free Missourians could keep their entire air force in the air and not on the ground. These missiles were launched to coincide with the NW Canadian Air Command operations.

Moving from the disembarkment points within Coalition controlled North Carolina and Florida, elements of the NW Canadian Expeditionary and intervention command moved forth. Units that were forward tasked took the lead, those that were support spread out and under took their tasks. Mobile and semi-fixed ADA and ABM units took their positions and activated their systems providing additional protection to NW Canadian and Coalition forces in the region. Expeditionary air units due to their equipment started to carry out air operations using existing airfields as well as highways. The CF-39 Griffons, CF-35B JSFs, CSu-34 Fullbacks, and CSu-39 Polar Scorpions especially were all designed to operate from expeditionary conditions and did not require the use of a true airfield. This Gave room for the CSu-35BMs and other aircraft at the fields under the protection of the ADA and ABM units.

A head of the Expeditionary and Intervention Command units, NW Canadian Marine brigades from the Expeditionary Strike Groups lead the way. Professionals to the last being, they didn’t run haphazard but moved in a orderly fashion with cover and support.

"Scattered around town, resistance from the locals have been no problem, but we could take care of them."

"Good, the town is secure then."

We currently have not military presence in the area, but have massive potential for war since we just ended a war with our colony. We can have land presence in Missouri within 1 week, and naval and air presence within 5 days. We look forward to possibly forging a new alliance.

Launching Naval forces for the gulf. Sending the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, and 4th naval task forces. 2 carriers per task force. All cariers stocked with various aircraft. Transports Carrying the 301st, 607th, 208th, 407th, and 105th armies. This is our first shipment of forces, and they are some of our best. Our famed 501st Marines will be along with the invasion force.
