Days continued on, and it was time for "The Examination".

It was a test, demonstrating everything they had learned, during which time, the summoners would be going out for their THIRD summons.

This trip though, would have to be started on their own, completed on their own, and success had to be accomplished on their own.

However, Irene had a large listing of possible targets, and would provide transportation to the same general area of the summons.

Irene wondered what Caroline had drawn, but shrugged and lounged in the tower awaiting her return.

Idly she imagined how the adventure might fair, if she had drawn the mysterious scrap of paper that had only three letters on it.

"EWP".

Irene knew what EWP stood for, and she had made sure only Caroline could draw it. Whether she did or not would be another story.

"EWP? This way." Stella said.

Stella and Chron both put a hand on Caroline.

"Good Luck, keep your wits about you, and don't forget this bag of supplies. You'll need them. Also, if you find the tomb of The Lich Queen, you've gone the wrong way, and we'll miss you and mourn the loss of your life and immortal soul in that event, because she will wake up, she will kill you, and she will enslave your soul. Well, the P on EWP stands for Pandemoniun, it's a sealed place very few have ever been too, good luck!" Chron said.

Then Stella and Chron propelled Caroline forward through TIme and Space before she could ask questions.

After the clouds of energy cleared, she'd find herself in a perfectly black plane. However, there was a light inside the back of supplies she had been given. It was glowing dimly.

If she took it out, it was attached to a pair of Night Vision Goggles, so that she could see in the dark. It'd help identify the noises in the darkness.

She was either on the ceiling, or the floor, depending on perspective. The cavern was spherical

From her perspective, she was on the floor.

From the perspective of the ten Revenants wandering around the other side of the cavern directly opposite her, she was on the ceiling.

This of course meant a few things.

The first being that Gravity was Objective Directional, in that it was towards the nearest wall.

The second, was that this was not going to be an easy simple trip.

The third was that unless she planned on channeling or summoning The Judge Magister for his Holy powers to fight the Revenants, she should reall make a run for that cave mouth to the left, before they found her.

Not one to stick around and ponder who is friend or foe in a sealed area, Caroline slipped quietly into the cave mouth to the left

It would twist and turn, and lead her to a choice, left, or right.

Left had more revenants milling about in the distance, Right disappeared around a corner to who knew what?

There was a map in her bag, as well as supplies.

Except, the map was little more than spheres on a spider web network of lines. One was marked LQ, one was marked EW. They were at opposing ends.

Caroline Took the right, but only went as far as the corner so she could peek around it to see what lay beyond

A tunnel. It was exactly six feet around and went down to the left.

Caroline cautiously continued down the tunnel fighting back the fear that niggled away at the back of her mind

When she got in the tunnel, the gravity picked her up, and off she zoomed down the tunnel.

Left...

Right...

Up...

Down...

The speeds were fantastic, and she never touched the ground!

It joined another tunnel, and a Revenant zoomed alongside her.

"Grarr!" It roared as it came close, but seconds later, it smashed into the wall and was destroyed.

It was a clear lesson, Caroling needed to watch where she flew, before she was smashed to bits against the wall. But how to control one's flight?

The tunnel leveled out, and she came to a natural stop, independant of her own wings.

She was in a tunnel that went three different paths.

An old journal lay on the ground nearby, in Irene's handwritting!

The last entry read:

"I've been lost in this damn place for three weeks now, seeking out the legenday summons, Elemental Warrior. In the thousands of years since cataclysim that brought him into being, only three people have ever gained him. I intend to be number four.

I stand now at a place where the crossroads go three ways. If only I had known that the great trap known as The Lich Queen lay down the middle path, I wouldn't be missing a tenth of my soul. I hate not being able to feel love and happiness. At least I escaped the Bitch Queen's grasp. Bitch Queen, heh, I'm going to have to remember that one. I've been down the left path, and I've been down the right path, but now that I know where I am, maybe I can draw a map of this place."

Which made the map no longer useless.

"Is there a reason your heading towards large ravenous hordes of The Undead formed from stealing the dead from other planes?" he asked.

At tat moment, they came upon a group of assorted undead.

"Shall I, or, did you maybe have some other plan in mind?" he asked.
