"Ahh. Ok then. It'll return in parts, fade, come back, fade, come back. That's normal. To much painkiller's bad for you, but I am lessening it, and with your restored bones, it'll fade away. Gotta keep you for observation, to make sure everything checks out." Kalia said.

She turned to Simon.

"Well, I'll trust her to your observation. Overnight, we'll keep her." She said to her apprentice.

"She'll experience a low level of pain for a few hours. Beyond that, there should be nothing." Kalia said.

She went to the door.

"Now if you'll pardon me, I'm going to go fill out the paperwork to excuse her from class." Kalia said.

Then she left.

A little time later Simon and Caroline were chatting to each other happily while the others went to the island

There were summons to be had of all types, but these ones required athletic competition before they would agree to serve. Any student that could beat them in a series of events would gain a new summons.

There was long distance running, swimming, and curling.

A good percentage of students failed to beat their summons, but some still managed it

Those that failed were given instead a pass unique to each student, that would allow them to try again later at another island. But Caroline would be unable to join them, because she didn't have a pass, and transfers were not possible.

So, Irene lead the way back to the ship, and it was about dinner time.

All the students made their way to the dining room, apart from Simon who asked If he could eat his in the Sick bay

He was allowed, and the secret was revealed that students were allowed to eat anywhere they wanted, so long as they cleaned up their mess afterwards. Save for those being kept in sick bay or other such medical facility, who had to stay there. Kalia brought Caroline some dinner.

The overnight Skeleton nurse went to the office, took out some bedding supplies, and brought them out for Caroline's comfort.

The morning came, and with it, came Kalia, who relieved the nurse, and stood there, arms crossed, watching Caroline until she awoke.

"Morning. You'll be released as soon as you can prove you can walk. Which can be done by simply walking out the door and going to breakfast. I hear it's biscuits and gravy this morning." Kalia said.

Caroline slowly climbed out of bed and gingerly made her way to the door.
She had just crossed the threshold when she stumbled, Simon was almost Instantly there to help her regain her balance and to help her to breakfast

"Simon, your task for the day is to keep an eye on her. It's part of your first ongoing assignment. I want you to be intimately familiar with the medical histories, and needs of your fellow apprentices. As I am for The Masters, so shall you be for them. Yes, I'll still be there to help you out, but from today onward, YOUR their primary care physician, and are thusly responsible for keeping them in good health.

Caroline just needs a bit of time in this particular instance.

As this is ongoing, it doesn't have to be completed today, but within a month, you should know more about them than me." Kalia said.

"This is outside The Prank Wars. You're going to notice the Magekillers and Paladins taking over sailing the ship. Classes are going to get alot more complicated.

Up to today, we've focused solely on one part of Magic, the traditional part. But there's so much more than that, and as the pranks I've seen have proved, your ready for more. You'll need it too, if you hope to reach Sorcerery levels. So today, we're going to be expanding beyond traditional knowledge. Alot of it will involve Science. Especially for the spirit students. By the time we're done however, you'll possess an education equal to anyone in The Bureaucracy." Xos said.

"Each class will now be taught directly by the master in question, with the teachers assisting and explaining things. It's not that they couldn't teach it themselves, it's only that with the confined space of the ship, it's just easier. Once we get back to the school, things will revert to normal.

For example:

Fire students will begin the study of Metallurgy.

Water Students will begin Oceanography

Sky students will begin Meteorology

Earth Students will begin Zooology

Spirit students will begin Sentient Biology, and The Study of Genetics.

Space Students will begin Astral Navigation, which will help your nation greatly when you begin Space Travel, if you haven't already.

Time Students will begin the ethics of Time Travel.

Written Students will begin learning a multitude of languages, starting with Japanese Kanji.

Existential students will study Atomic Theory.

My students are to be pitied, for they study The Grand Unified Theory, known also as The Theory of Everything." Xos said.

He took a drink.

"This isn't all the classes will study, it's just an example, there will be a great many subjects studied, with Written and Energy students having to study everything, due to the nature of their power." Xos said.

"But don't worry, we also have advanced teaching techniques that are going to make everything alot easier to learn." Rahegalhoff said.

"Oh yes, Raggy's going to teach everyone Military Application which will cover a wide variety of subjects. Because it's inevitable that sooner or later after graduation, you'll have to use your powers in a life or death battle. Obviously, you'll want to win." Xos said.

And class begun for the day. The advanced teaching techniques did make things easier to learn, allowing the students to absorb large amounts of knowledge easily, without an Aquamarinian, or Psionic powers. However, the quantity of information, and the high expectations of The Masters offset this advantage.

The tests got even harder. When lunch came, The masters were certain it would be greeted with relief and joy, as it meant a break from learning.

They were also at the other summoning island, which meant those that failed the first time, could try again under a different set of challenges. Except Caroline, who never went to the first island. But, Chron did make his promise.
