With that Arthur pulled Guin to the right.
"So about that kiss?" He asked with a chuckle, "Cause I don't think she's going to stop until we make it clear she's lost."

Guin grinned, and gave Arthut a movie style kiss, her Aura growing stronger as her feelings took over, temporarily banishing logic and reason. Infact, her Aura grew so strong it began negating Morganna's powers returning the maze to normal within its sphere of influence.

....

Lara was watching the entire affair from the roof of the villa as she talked with King Matthew. She smiled as she saw Guin's aura intensify to the point it made it seem the garden maze had caught on fire.

"As I mentioned before, the Kipperese children have to go present themselves to the Elders in Warhaven, would you and your family care to come along?" Lara asked.

And there was the entrance before them, with Morgana in sight, stamping her foot.

"No! Not fair!" Morgana complained.
....
"Of course," King Matthew replied, "The magekillers have sworn loyalty to my family, They deserve our presence at this event."

[Warhaven]

Guin lead Arthur out before her Aura receded to normal size.

"I, enjoyed that kiss. Thank you Arthur. But really, thank you too, Morganna. If you hadn't twisted the maze, I never would've thought of doing it." Guin said, smiling.

....

"They might even ask you to participate. Oh, nothing dangerous, but having to find, or shield a real person is more effective than a straw dummy. The volunteer magi know to use nothing more than illusions. You'd be safe. It'd be fun." Lara said.

Morgana shot Guin an "I'll get you another time" look before stomping off.
"I'm telling daddy that you were smooching in the maze!" She stopped and shouted halfway up the terrace.
"See if I care!" Arthur shouted back.
....
"It sounds fun," Matthew said, "Consider my participation guaranteed."

[Warhaven]

"And I don't plan on denying it." Guin grinned.

.....

"Wonder what's got Morganna upset." Lara said, watching the children.

"Daaad," Morgana shouted, "Arthur and Guinevere were kissing in the maze!"

"Good for them," Matthew said, "Don't you agree Lara?"

[Warhaven]

"I was wondering when they were going to get around to it myself." Lara agreed.

Unhappy with the results, Morgana stormed off, past Arthur and Guin and into the maze.

"I wonder what's up with her," Matthew said with a shrug.
....
"Should we go after her?" Arthur asked, "I know she's a pain, but I remember when I first went into the maze. It was terrifying."

[Warhaven]

"Yeah, we better." Guin said.

[The Floor Kippers]

"Lets go then," Arthur said, before strolling into the maze.

For the first few corners the maze was pretty normal, but after the fourth turn, things started getting darker, literally.
A strange mist seemed to fill the maze, surrounding the pair of them.

[Warhaven]

Guin tried to strengthen her Aura to negate Deep Magic again, but didn't know how, and felt silly asking Arthur for another kiss just so she could.

"I think she's upset." Guinevere said instead, pointing out the obvious.

[The Floor Kippers]

"I think so too," Arthur said, "This mist is so thick. Don't let go of my hand or we'll lose each other."

[Warhaven]

"I won't. But remember, your tie is still on us too." Guin reminded him.

[The Floor Kippers]

"I took it off at my end when we left the maze," Arthur said, glad Guin couldn't see the look on his face when he realised that.

Just then something barged past between the two of them, with enough force to break their hand hold.

"Guinevere!" Arthur called out, using her full first name betraying his worry as he reached out for her hand and found only a hedge.
On her side, she would find the same.

[Warhaven]

"Arthur!" She cried out, looking for him, and finding only Hedge maze.

[The Floor Kippers]

"Guinevere, follow the hedge along, there must be a gap in it somewhere," Arthur shouted.

[Warhaven]

Guinevere did exactly that.

Weakling....

The word resounded through Guinevere's mind as fear took root. The fear that Morganna was going to do something to hurt her. Racial memories bound in the blood of all magekillers came to mind, Memories not lived since the original, and his two children lived long ago.

.....

A young boy was laying prone on the floor of Shadowlord manner.

"You are a weakling, Kyle." Shadowlord said.

The young boy struggled to get up, but could not move.

"When I return, I'm going to destroy you." Shadowlord promised.

....

Guin shook her head clear of the strange memories, trying to find the exit.

[The Floor Kippers]

"Guinevere, the fog is clearing on my side," Arthur said, "I can see, the exit. But there's no gap in the hedge."

[Warhaven]

Before she responded, she looked carefully to see if she could find a gap in the hedge, or the fog lifting.

The fog on her side was not lifting, in fact it was thicker than ever.

[Warhaven]

"I think it's rolling over to my side, and it's messing with my head!" Guinevere cried.

Young kyle ran through Shadowlord Manor desperate to escape. In his haste, he stumbled upon a glass bottle, with decorative gold around it, filled with a red substance. Shadowlord had told him to stay away from it, that it could hurt Shadowlord deeply. Kyle hadn't wanted to hurt his adoptive father then. But that was before the beatings started, before the punishment, before the training. Hatred for Shadowlord was all that filled Kyle's heart, as he reached for the bottle, determined to show Shadowlord how strong he could really be.
....

Guin shook her head again, but curiosity filled her, what was in that strange bottle? A thrill of danger flashed across her mind, and so she tried to concentrate on escaping the maze.

[The Floor Kippers]

"Guinevere, stay there," Arthur said, "I'm going to find Kembel. I can fly over the maze then and find you."

The sound of his footsteps faded away as he ran from the maze in search of his Dragon Mount, leaving Guinevere behind with the mist and the sounds of hedges pulling themselves from the ground and moving around her.

[Warhaven]

Guinevere knelt to the ground. If only she were stronger she could teach morgana a lesson. Her and Arthur could be together problem free without that pain in the neck.

If only Morgana didn't exist.

.....

It was Guinevere, not Kyle, who stood before the potion in Shadowlord Manor.

"You are weak, Guinevere. Embrace me, let me make you strong." A voice from the bottle enticed.

"Who are you?" Guinevere asked.

"I am Elru. I have been in your family, since your ancestor first welcomed me into his life. I am the one who gave The Red Death his strength, and in each following generation, I have given all his descendants their strength. You are old enough, let me give you strength, enough to overcome Morgana, enough to make her go away. Open the bottle Guinevere, let me free, and you shall be strong." The voice promised.

Guinevere shook her head as she knelt on the ground, waiting for Arthur.

One of the hedges seemed to be whispering to her.
"You are not good enough for a prince." The hedge said, "One day he will grow up and get bored of you. He will have the pick of any girl in that land, why do you think he would still like you then?"
