[Alversia]

An Alversian Division is 9,000 strong, consisting of three Brigades each of three Battalions. Each Brigade has a Machine gun company, and each Brigade has a Company of Heavy Artillery.

Alversian standard weapon is the Steyr-Mannlicher M1895
Standard Machine gun is the Schwarzlose MG M.07/12

First Army:(Rifles) 180,000 Men (20 Divisions)
Second Army:(Reserves) 540,000 men (60 Divisions/ 20 Active)
Third Army:(Infantry) 315,000 men (35 Divisions/ 10 Active)

Each Corps consists of five Divisions. Each Corps consists of 2 Rifle Divisions, 2 Reserve Divisions and a single third line Division, used mainly for guarding the lines of Communication and headquarters.

Each of the 10 Active Corps are arranged into four armies along the borders with two independent corps acting as reserves and protecting the capital.

This is a small military factbook for The Communist Union of North Orus (in MT it is the Democratic Republic).

Gear
Each troop is armed with an Oruian M-5B .405 Self-Loading Bolt Action Rifle. This comes with an attachable bayonet. Some also are armed with BW Model 14 9x20 mm Semi-Automatic Pistol but mainly officers. The machine gun weilding troops use a KBL59 Oruian .30-06 Water Cooled Heavy Machine Gun. Each of these firearms were made, developed, and tested in North Orus.

The clothing of a soldier is a basic helmet and wool clothing. The footwear of a soldier is mostly boots. All soldiers have gas masks to protect them from chemicals.

Units

• Basic Soldier. This basic unit has no special purpose but to attack and defend.
• Machine Gunner. This soldier is trained in using a heavy machine gun.
• Officer. This unit commands soldiers and leads them.
• Cavalry. This soldier rides on a horse and is used only in cavalry charges.
• Marksman. This soldier can hit targets at long distances.
• Enginneer. This soldier is trained in the use of explosives and building trenches.
• Artillery Operator. These soldiers operate artillery.

Artillery

The artillery of North Orus's army mainly consists of guns between 55mm and 150mm shells. They are long and short range.

• The Grand Army of the Union = ~5,000,000 troops (4 Armies)
• Armies = 1,200,000 troops (4 Regiments)
• Regiments = 300,000 troops (4 Divisions)
• Division = 75,000 troops (4 Companies)
• Company = 18,750 troops (3 Battalions)
• Battalion = 6,250 troops (50 Brigades)
• Brigade = 125 troops (5 Platoons)
• Platoon = 25 troops (2-3 Squads)
• Squad = 10-15 troops

Just a word on helmets; the effective ones didn't appear on the front lines until 1915. Pickelhaube/"traditional" helmets are fine for the first year of the war, but helmets like the Brodie & Adrian helmets and the Stalhelm shouldn't appear until the years they showed up.

Alversian Infantry

Alversian Regular and Reserve Infantry are highly trained troops who spend large amounts of their time practising marksmanship and rate of fire. Alversian troops are capable, with the Steyr Mannlicher M95's high rate of fire. In fact, Alversian troops are capable of firing 20 rounds accurately down a target range. Third line soldiers are mostly ex-veterans and many are capable of this high rate of fire.

I suggest that war starts with a bang like an assassination, Alversia or some other attempts to murder high ranking offical. That or a trainning gone wrong; A U-boat out on training detail spots a ship close to its target and fires sinking another nations vessel.

I've had the idea of Hagarthan anarchists being used by Hagartha to precipitate a war with Wilconson (perhaps they were supplied with weapons by Wilconson, we can leave that to the historians to debate) after blowing up a high-ranking general. I don't think Hagartha or Wilconson responded, though have a name for the general would greatly help to write the RP.

Also, names for governing groups might be good to get as well.

@Holstria, remember that flamethrowers weren't applied in battle until summer of 1915, though since they were around and available, I suppose the Holstrian army can definitely give them a test run and get them into battle earlier.
