You don't have to do that. You can be sneaky about it.

Have a small military, say only 40,000 strong, that gives you the room to equip them with loladvanced tech. And have what's left over go to defences for the city-state, and Black Ops teams.

14,000 Sound like a good secret military number? Most of that number is actually support [Engineers, cooks, etc etc]. The fighting force would be around....5-7,00.

You just don't have that many more cooks than soldiers, engineers possibly, but you'd be better off saying:

8,000 Troops
2,000 Cooks
4,000 Engineers

Etc. maybe.

Why can't your cooks fight?

Because their cooks. Since its so small I'll be spending a lot on the tech, equipment and such. So the soldiers, depending on how much I want to spend, shall be eating like upper middle class instead of whatever they used to eat.


@Everyone, The cooks thing is just an example. Its just to say that support will be the main bulk thus the "etc etc". Besides, what do you have against cooks?

Yes. Why should support staff be any different than medics or radio operators? Both of those still fight.

I like it.10,000 for abroad use and 4,000 for national city defense. Most will have a secondary job [Cook, medic, etc etc] but I will devote a solid 2- 5,000 to just fighting [So these 2-5,000 will be like the special forces]
