The convoy began to follow the road down the mountains. Beside the road a couple of soldiers were walking. One of them carrying an M60 machinegun and two others the equipment for the Javelin. The others had their rifles. This was the group that was to protect the road by reinforcing one of the ledges.

In the Globexian convoy, the troops were eager to return to action. These peculiar men had not seen a major raid or military action apart from the small attacks on the house, which were classed as pretty low importance to them. Most were prepared to use a mixture of standard and tracer rounds, which would also slightly light up the cave system if really needed.

In the Free Tristanian convoy the Major was checking out the plans. He tried to find his chocolate bar to use as a ruler.. only to find out that he had left it on the table. He grinned and asked the captain for his ruler. As soon as he got it he pointed at one of the positions. "We have some men to spare... we should block off the main roads leading to Kleindorp thus sealing it off from the outside world for the time being. Just in case someone gets a daft idea. I will send Lieutenant Meyer to contact the burgomaster."

For a moment he thought about supplying the men. "Can you arrange some warm food and coffee for the men and have those that are not needed to perform any duties freshen up. They will replace the others that are now on duty until the whole bunch is sorted out. Morale.. is a key factor here."

In the Globexian convoy, rumors were going around that the Govt was planning to buy an entirely new armored personnel carrier, which would work just as well as on sand as on snow or dirt. It was tracked, but it was obviously better than Humvee's and Bushmasters. If the plan was to go through, most of the men knew they would probably receive one or two of the vehicles in Free Tristania.

Apart from that, the men were still on attention, keeping an eye on any suspicious movement they may had seen before leaving the house from the borrowed sniper Assistant telescope.

With the convoy arriving in Kleindorp troops rushed out and the Major send the Lieutenant to the village house. "Thank God.. it isn't a market day." the Major had said. "because then we would have had to clear the streets."

It didn't take long before troops were taking up position and blocking the roads leading in and out of the village while other troops went to the local barracks to refresh themselves. It didn't take long before bowls of rice and meat were distributed amongst the soldiers on guard and coffee was brought in. "Morale..."as the Major had said "is a key factor here..."

"All right, get to sixty kph. To all gunners, beware of possible hostile targets within or near the village. Move efficiently, and avoid having to stop as much as possible. If a vehicle needs to stop, we shall wait for it. Just because we are nearing the village doesn't mean we are safe or is it a reason to stand down, that is all." said Ryan Andrews through his radio microphone.

The Globexian Convoy began to enter the village, the gunners scanning the people on the sidewalks as they moved.

A couple of soldiers were standing in the middle of the road, signalling the Globexians what turn to take. Two soldiers were scanning the roof tops. One was smoking a cigarette. For now everything seemed to be going as planned.

The convoy turned at the required speed, every now and then a driver had to check his GPS in order to make sure where he was going was the right route, but so far, the were following the correct path. From calculations, the caves were only ten minutes away.

In the village things were quieting down and the soldiers received their supplies and took the opportunity to wash and shave while those who had just received their supplies were now taking their turn to guard the roads. The road leading up to Heuvel and the church path had been blocked off with sandbags and barbed wire. And some machinegun posts had been set up.

In the house the Minister-Mentor had been brought to the medical room and was still resting while the family were not preparing themselves for the day. The blinds and shutters were opened and fresh air entered the house. The oldest daughter and her mother both took a bath and quickly made breakfast while sitting outside on the terrace overlooking the village, waiting for the boys and the younger daughter to wake up and join them. "Do you think that someone will try to shoot us ?" The oldest daughter asked. "What happens happens..." her mother said. "It's no use to live in fear for those that wish us harm. If they want it bad enough they will do it in the end."

As the Globexian Convoy left the village, a sense of silence and anxiousness could be felt within all the vehicles. Would there be any hostiles? Would they have any rockets? Would the cave even be open? were the questions going into the minds of every single one of them.

At the same time, the Officers began to draw up plans of what to do if an unexpected advantage came into any possible enemies hand: if they had any times of rocket launchers, the RPG-7s were to be used with a light explosive charge. They had even made a plan for if there was a broken down tank, just sitting in the cave guarding it as a bunker...

Laura walked inside to get some tea and a study book and came outside again. "You know.. I can't focus on this subject at all. The view is simply too good." Her mother smiled for a moment. "It's stunning.. no wonder your father loves this place so much."

Her younger sister came out and looked at the mountains. "I wonder how high they are ?" "They are well over 13.000 feet here." It was a man's voice. Pik was standing in the door. "Good morning." he said and saluted. "Sarah and I decided to check up on your well-being. Your Majesty.. could you tell me. How's the King's health ?" He asked the mother.

"He is still resting. According to the doctor's he was absolutely exhausted. While I am glad that those troops protect us.. I am even more glad, for his sake, that most of them have now been withdrawn. The house looked like a war zone.." Pik nodded " Your Majesty, the commanding officers of the joint forces have decided to take the fight to the enemy rather then allowing them to take the fight here. It was considered very dangerous for the King's health if they would have continued fighting it out here."

At the Globexian convoy, the vehicles began to slow down as they approached the location of the caves which they verified on the map, and then on the GPS.
They were only a few minutes away from the main massive cave system, silently all the vehicles turned their engines off. Two men wearing ghillie suits and binoculars which also contained a Night Vision option began to slowly crawl towards some trees surrounded by grass, just in front of the cave system.

As they settled down, the first of them began to scan the cave as the other prepared his radio. Very quickly, it was evident there were people in the cave.

"Scout 02 to Convoy, hostiles spotted. Average (here, he waited for his comrade to quickly whisper to him an estimated number) a dozen hostiles, repeat, a dozen hostiles. No vehicles in sight. Over." sent the 2nd Scout.
"Loud and clear, get back to the convoy." came back on the Radio.

Immediately, the men began to slowly crawl back, one facing forwards as the other faced backwards, to make sure nobody was either intercepting or following them from the bushes or the cave itself.

In the village everything was peaceful. From his office at the Territorial Forces barracks the Major was checking some paperwork when the radio crackled. He listened into the Globexian frequency and understood that they had made contact. The Captain was standing in the doorway with two cups of coffee in his hands and listened in as well. "Trouble ?" The Major shook his head "I'm sure they'll manage it. Tell Van Zyl to be ready in case there will be trouble. Inform the men at the House as well."

"Sir !" The Captain put the coffee on the table and walked to the radio operator in the next office.

After the scouts had successfully regrouped at the Globexian convoy, giving out all the details they had seen including a possible RPG-18 and some sand bags. Apart from that, the weapons they seemed to be holding were mostly pistols and M16s which also seemed to be quite old. Something else the Scouts had spotted was a single man patrolling the area, returning to in front of the cave every ten minutes or so.

"Right, said Ryan after having heard the information from the two men, when that patrolling man gets as close to the road as possible, we will want all the troops ready in the trucks. Get his attention to the road, then kill him as quickly as possible using the gunners. As soon as this is done, the vehicles will drop off the troops right on spot, while they run towards the entrance of the cave the trucks will take up strategic positions to suppress the enemy. Am I understood?" he said, receiving a few nods.

The men climbed back into the vehicles, as a scout remained outside tracking the mouvements of the man through an infrared capable camera.

After informing the radio operator the captain walked back into the Major's office. " Any updates ?"
"They seem to considering the armament of the enemy to be antiquated. Which is good. It seems that one of them has an old RPG. The rest mainly pistols and M16's. Piece of cake.."
The Captain nodded. "Your coffee, sir." He gave the Major his coffee. The radio operator contacted the groups "Base to all. I repeat, Base to all. Globexians made contact with the enemy. Remain old guard at all time and report back your position and status. Over."

One by one the groups reported their status and position. Everyone was waiting while the Globexians were clearing out the caves.

After a minute of patient waiting, the man was near the road.

"Now!" was the order shouted on the radio, hearing this, the drivers turned their engines on resulting in the man immediately jumping in shock and spinning around.

Before he could even holster his weapon to fire it, he came under the heavy fire of the APC's machine gun and one of the Humvee's, quickly cutting him down.
The men then opened the doors and began to run to take up strategical and defended positions outside the cave entrance, taking up any possible space. The vehicles then moved into place, spraying the cave with their mixture of standard rounds and tracer rounds, ripping to pieces one of the hostiles dumb enough to try and stand up to fire his weapon.
One of them tried to run towards the RPG-18, he got to it and tried to reload this. Out of the sight of the soldiers, he successfully loaded it and began to aim. Seeing this, Andrews quickly grabbed a smoke grenade, pulling out the pin and throwing it at the man with the rocket launcher. As the grenade hit his chest, it lightly exploded spending him on his back as smoke began to appear from the broken grenade. However, as he fell, his finger slipped on the trigger, sending the rocket into the sky in the direction of a nearby forest.

At the house a distant explosion was heard that made Pik look up from his own study papers. "He's at it again..." He chuckled to Sarah. She just looked outside but couldn't see anything because of the mountains and the jungle that were blocking her view.
Suddenly a door opened and a soldier came in and saluted. "Excuse me, Your Majesty.." He said to the mother "The explosions and gunshots that you might hear in the distance are nothing to be concerned about. They are the Group 66 men that are clearing out a cave."

"That's enough sitting about, forward!" shouted a Captain.

Immediately, the men began to slowly creep towards the side of the walls. Ten men were designated to run into the cave while another threw in a flare illuminating the room.
As the flare was launcher, one of the hostile men stood up and was able to empty a round into a Groupe 66 soldier, most of the bullets hitting his arm. Through the pain, he pulled the pin and then threw the flare grenade before being pulled to cover by an MO, who began to lay him on the floor to examine his wound.

After that, the ten men ran into the cave, killing two men attempting to themselves creep up to the door and flank the soldiers present there. Then then ran up to the sandbags, overpowering two men while taking their weapons and hitting their heads with the butt of their Assault rifles, knocking them out. After five more minutes of intense searching, the cave system and the area round it was deemed safe and empty of any possible hostile forces. Already, men were being assigned to pull out any present equipment alongside the dead bodies, as the two knocked out men were slowly pulled out by the Assault Team.

"Right."The Captain said. "That was a quick coup. Some more coffee, sir ?" He turned towards the Major and refilled his cup.

In the house things settled down while Pik and Sarah did the dishes. "Max still in bed ? Someone needs to get that lazy bum out." Pik grinned. "Where is the Prince by the way ?"

"Looking for me ?" The son was standing in the doorway. "Just came back from the village. Looking for something to do. They need some people out in the field so I volunteered." His shirt was stained.

"That's what I call a success people, good job." said Andrews, laughing as eight quick graves were dug away from the Caves for the dead hostiles. They were marked by the clothes they were wearing on a stick alongside their blocked weapons, with the barrel twisted so that it would never be used.

As the main plans were being put out, twenty men were to remain at the collection of caves, which were to be used as a H.Q.
The other sixty were to split up into six groups of ten men each, and assemble themselves to create a protective area on places of importance, especially slightly high ones.
As the vehicles moved out in order to move the equipment needed to establish the various defense points, Andrews jumped on one of the vehicles having to go past the village, jumping down in front of the local force barracks.

With a small smile in his face, he walked into the Major's part.

"Update on the battle, he said, eight killed out of the ten, the other two are still alive. One of my people picked up two bullets to the arm, minor injury."

"Welcome back to civilisation."The Major stood up with a smile on his face and checked whether the Captain wasn't looking. He then opened up a cabinet and got out a bottle of whiskey and two glasses. "Always comes handy when a shop is right next door. Excellent work. We were listening in all the time. How is your wounded man ?"

He opened up the bottle and poured whiskey in the two glasses and handed one over to Andrews.

"Thanks, he's all right. The MO is looking at him at the moment. The cave is pretty devoid from what I've seen, I think they must have been there for around a week however, there are beds, a camp fire base or two... Still, we've got two knocked out prisoners, do you want them or can we quickly shoot them and bury them instead?" he asked.

"The base could in the future actually be expanded if the Group has any intentions of having a designated local hide-out. When it comes to the prisoners...I think that the intelligence services would be very interested in them... I wouldn't know what we should to with them apart from handing them over to the police." The Major said. "You do know the right people, I hope ?"

"Then keep your prisoners for the time being. Whatever you do with them to get out information... is not on a need to know bases for me. Tell Pik later on that you have found those people. Is he the man that frowns on ... unorthodox methods ? Now.. with the bases being operational your men should be set for the time being." He held up his glass. "Cheers and good hunting !"
