7th fleet dispatched to Ryou

The US announces the 7th fleet is heading to international waters near Ryou today, to engage in live fire exercises. The ships will fire live rounds in a direction away from Ryou. The ships are not scheduled to get any closer than 20 miles from Ryou territorial waters, except for exerimental submarines which will go right up to the border to see if they can be detected.
The US has informed Ryou of the planned exercise and Ryou has protested strongly. Despite the protest the exercise will go ahead as scheduled. The exercise was in planning for the last two years. Ryou has been invited to observe the exercise.
Ryou has thus far responded by placing its military forces on alert.

This is the last US naval exercise for many ships in the fleet. They will placed on the auction block to make room for the US to buy newer ships.

One ship that will be auctioned is the famed USS Kermit the Frog battleship which saw action in over 20 conflicts. The ship took many lickings but kept on ticking.

The White House is said to be in a state of shock at the news. Officials at the Pentagon are pointing fingers at each when asked how a group of secessionists were able to seize one of America's premiere naval fleets.
