OOC-You aren't bound by what your nation pages says, the issues aren't binding when RPing

The glorious Confederacy of Hugora, that saintly bastion of Christ and God on Earth, has heard the pleas of your oppressed people. Your refusal to allow your citizens even the slightest sip from the cup of liberty is abhorrent and it is the holy duty of Hugora to put a stop to vile dictatorships such as yours.

You have 72 hours to hold free and open elections, under World Assembly observation. If you do not comply within this timeframe, a Marine Strike Force will forcibly enact regime change and install a more democratic government.

His Most Serene Majesty's Government in Right of the Most Serene Kingdom of Astralsideria, although eager to express our uncertainty as regards the sagacity of the abolition of free and fair elections, do also wish to express our most profound conviction that, as the government must, in the beginning, have been selected democratically, the actions undertaken by that government are legitimate, however unsavoury they may be. As the government of Green Port have violated no international law, it is our firm belief that they should not be removed from office by force. His Most Serene Majesty's Government condemns any such action without reservation.

OOC-Yeah, the issues start repeating after a while.

IC-
To the Government of Astralsideria
The glorious Confederacy of Hugora, that saintly bastion of Christ and God on Earth, is disgusted that any civilized state would willingly support the destruction of liberty. Hugora is not swayed by your condemnation, for you have no moral ground upon which to base it. Our mission is unchanged, our resolve unwavering; we will bring liberty to Green Port.

The die was cast; the dictator had made his refusal to cooperate clear. The Confederate Marine Corps would make him cooperate, or they would find a suitable replacement.

Task Force Dagger set sail from Norfolk, the 3,600 Marines of the 3rd, 7th, and 11th Battalions sailing on three Wasp-class amphibious assault ships. The Marines were commanded by Colonel James Pendon, one of the most experienced officers in the Corps. His face, marked by an eye-patch earned fighting African bandits in Liberia, was universally recognized by every Marine under his command.

Along for the ride was a full carrier battle group, centered around the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier HNS Comstock, packing enough aircraft to win a war with a Third World nation by itself. Escorting this marvel of Hugoran engineering were three Ticonderoga-class cruisers and eight Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, as well as a trio of Seawolf-class nuclear attack submarines, both for attacking enemy ships and land targets.

The Task Force was two days away from Green Port. Until then, it would be up to strategic bombers to show the country how modern war was conducted.

A flight of 12 B-52H Stratofortress bombers, escorted by 24 F-15C Eagle fighters, took off from MacMillan Air Force Base in Virgina Province and set off for Green Port. The bomb bays were loaded with bombs, but rather than explosive or incendiary bombs these munitions were packed with leaflets denouncing the Green Port dictator and urging the populace to revolt.

The aircraft were refueled in midair, and would strike that night. There was no idea of what kind of resistance would be faced, but everyone was confident it would be easily brushed aside.

But the green port people contacted Julian Bryce and made him think about his decision for a while, why would you bombard a hole city filled with innocent civilians fighting for their rights? why not just bombard the home of the cruel dictator (The Temple, check the green port political map)?

Approaching Green Port
The bombers were not filled with anything deadly-unless you were allergic to paper. The bombers would merely drop thousands of leaflets, a fact that was soon explained to the people of Green Port.

That night, the bombers breached the Green Port radar envelope, headed for Imperial Port and Black Port. The fighters had their weapons ready for launch, while the bombers prepared chaff and other countermeasures.

If the dictator was going to try and stop the bombers, now was the time.

International Waters
HNS Swift Spear

Colonel Pendon looked over a map of Green Port, surrounded by subordinates and aides. On the map, dozens of small wooden blocks were moved around, representing the Hugoran task force and the approximate positions of the Green Port military, courtesy of satellite reconnaissance.

“Our plan,” he announced to the assembled officers, “Is one of simplicity. The locals have pinpointed the dictator’s position here, at the Temple.” He placed a large star-shaped block on the map.

“The Task Force will sail between Blue and Red Cliffs, and seize a landing zone at Imperial Port,” he continued, tapping the mentioned areas with a pointer. “This will be our campaign headquarters; it is a good distance from any other city and easily defended. Once we have Imperial Port, we will advance to Black Port, capture it, and from there move overland to the Temple. Does everyone understand?”

There was a chorus of agreement. Pendon nodded. “Excellent. I expect plans from the assorted element commanders within the day on how to make that plan happen. You will be notified of any changes in the situation.”

As everyone filed out, Pendon sought out the naval commander, Commodore Jonathan Harding.

“Harding, what’s the status of Intrepid?” He asked.

“She’ll be on station in an hour,” the commodore replied. “We’ll get her first update half an hour after that.”

Pendon nodded, told the man to carry on, and went back to his cabin.

Off the Coast of Blue Cliffs
The Seawolf-class attack submarine HNS Intrepid was a hidden predator, slinking beneath the waves to put torpedoes into the hulls of unsuspecting enemies. Today, however, she was moving into a position in the straits, to spy on Green Port naval positions and use her UAVs to spy on their land positions.

“UAV coming up…now,” the XO said, and a display flashed to life from the camera aboard a Big Eye drone, now hovering over Imperial Port.

“Good,” the skipper replied. “And our status?”

“Still undetected. Second UAV coming online…now.”

Another display opened, this one from a UAV over the straits area. The Intrepid now had real-time surveillance over Imperial Port and the straits, and began streaming it back to Task Force Dagger.

“Now,” the skipper said, looking at the displays. “Let’s see what this dictator’s got up his sleeve…”

OOC: You are great at rp

Green Port Generals, seeing how the enemy approached trough Blue Cliffs without knowing it was the main military base on green port, quickly planned a counter attack

General John Blacksmith said: "Apparently the enemy's satellites failed at detecting our underground complexes here at blue port, so we are gonna use that to our advantage. They are planning on destroying the Temple so we are going to counter attack them once they think they've won. But we have to think our movements carefully, our AAA is down form the initial attack and they have UAVs patrolling the area.

The best way to move is through the subway lines (ooc: dashed red lines on the political map) get out on Black Fort and attack them from behind."

As the general finished saying this all of the Assault force was already moving through the various underground lines. The Imperial and Royal Forces, on the other hand, had the task to recover the seized Imperial Fort.

As the minutes passed the Imperial Snipers got onto position to cover the Royal Forces and the Armored detachment (ooc: the Armored detachment from the imperial forces is formed by PMT armored exoskeletons(Clue: Imperial / Royal)) of the Imperial Force provided support fire as needed

OOC-Thanks

“Well then,” Colonel Pendon said, reading the dispatch. “That settles it. Rescind the orders, and await new ones.”

With the apparent end of the dictator’s reign, Task Force Dagger was between missions. Deciding that the locals would know what was best, Pendon swallowed his pride and contacted them.

To: The Emperor of Green Port
From: Colonel Pendon, C.O. Task Force Dagger

Sir, I congratulate you on your return to power. My task force, originally designed to depose the dictator which had seized control, finds itself without a mission upon receiving news of your return to power.

If there is any mission my force can assist yours in completing, we will gladly render any aid possible. If not, then I will leave this situation to the diplomats.

Indeed, a Hugoran diplomat was now under way, to negotiate a treaty and a lease on a base with this new nation. They could be a valuable economic ally, and a Hugoran base would allow the Confederacy to keep an eye on things.

I'm sorry, but allowing your nation to establish a military base would go against the principles on which this Empire was founded. Although we can allow you to establish a base in one of our African colonies (500 Km away from our capital)

To Emperor Bartelsman
Very well then. Hugoran forces will withdraw immediately, barring any unforeseen developments in the region. We look forward to establishing a free trade agreement with you, and opening your country to Hugoran missionaries.

Signed,
Julian Bryce
President

The ships of Task Force Dagger began the withdrawal, quickly passing from Green Port waters back into international waters. There was a heavy CAP, in case any diehards tried anything funny while the ships were leaving.

Colonel Pendon was disappointed that there had been no real combat, but the fact that not a single Hugoran life was lost pleased him greatly. As the Task Force steamed for home, he considered the mission, all in all, a job well done.
