It's Coronation time! (CLOSED)

[Brasland]

To sum up what has happened in Brasland: after fifteen years of republican regime (check here:http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=76591)the monarchy has been restored -through a peaceful and democratic plebiscite- and the heir of the Balkronn dynasty, George IV, has acceeded to the throne as King of Brasland. He will now be crowned and all nations are invited to attend the Coronation ceremony, but we'll start with a pre-Coronation ball the day before.

Royal Palace, Markund

The champagned flowed, the laughs could be heard all across the palace and the guests went here and there through the building. King George danced with one of his many cousins, while princes, archbishops and politicians mingled with each other, whispering the latest rumours in the city and wondering how the new reign would be. After so many years of repression, they wanted peace, freedom...and fun.

While many watched the young King dancing, other heads turned to his sister, the beautiful Sophia, who was clearly feeling uncomfortable by the legion of male admirers who seemed to follow her wherever she went. From a distant angle, her old great aunt Alexandra drinked some scotch and bullied the poor bartender, while the royal children ran through the rooms, breaking some glasses and spilling their content into the ladies' dresses, much to latter's horror.

As the chaotic party continued, George's grandmother and host, Queen Dowager Charlotte, asked everyone for silence to propose a toast. She raised her glass with a very regal move. "My dear friends, today we celebrate the beginning of George's reign as our new King. May it be blessed with peace, fortune and prosperity, and May God Bless Brasland!"

"May God Bless Brasland!", the guests repeated loudly, raising their glasses.

The infamous Lord Lowery one breathed his glass of champagne.

"Yes, gods bless Brasland and all that good stuff. Waiter! Another glass!"

"And for me too!", said Gabriel of Olaven, heir to the old principality.

He approached to Lord Lowery. "Lord Lowery, I suppose. Let me introduce myself: I am Gabriel, Hereditary Prince of Olaven. I've never heard of you, though."

[Haalstad]

"On behalf of the Imperial Commonwealth, I congratulate you on your ascension to your throne".

[Ameriganastan]

"Pleasure to meet you Gabriel. I am Lord Cody Wayne Lowery, eternal grand ruler of Ameriganastan. I don't know this prince guy getting the coronation, but I'm never one to miss a party."

[Vetega]

"It's nice to see that peace has resolved things for once. I hope all goes well with the coronation. I am High Emperor Vagros Destraud of the Federation of Vetega. Congratulations!" The 17 year old king said while sipping on champagne.

[Olaven]

Gabriel laughed. "Indeed, it's a nice party. And the girls are something else. Do you know Princess Sophia over there? She seems to be quite a revelation."

He was eager to find a wife. At 37, his father was pressuring him to settle down. He was the last of his family, and the family bloodline would die out without heirs if he didn't marry.

"Anyway, I'm here for the grand spectacle. In my country reigning princes just make a simple swear in front of the people. No coronation or fanfare. Let's hope these Braslandians will give us a good show tomorrow. By the way, do you have any daughters?"

[Brasland]

Sophia, the King's sister, was just getting rid of those annoying suitors when she found the young emperor. Looking confused, she quickly regained her composure and gave him a graceful curtsey. "Greetings, Emperor Vagros. I hope you've find the ball pleasant."

[Brasland]

"On behalf of the Imperial Commonwealth, I congratulate you on your ascension to your throne".

Vagros turned and bowed in return.
"As a matter of fact I do. It is quite lovely. I take it you are the King's sister, Sophia is it?" he replied as looked at her straight in the eyes.

Gabriel laughed. "Indeed, it's a nice party. And the girls are something else. Do you know Princess Sophia over there? She seems to be quite a revelation."

He chuckled darkly

"How about you? Got any kids?"

Self appointed ambassador Liberius Tascitae barges in, pours himself some wine, and walks over to some random guy, "Hey, it's been a long time, how are you?"

[Brasland]

Sophia nodded. "Yes, I'm Sophia. For me this is a new world, as I've lived most of my life in exile. I don't want to be rude, but I've never heard of your country, is it very far from Brasland? And for how long have you been the emperor?"

The actual King of Llocsirdia (already there) looks over at him, laughs, and then resumes talking to some one about the great cricket plays the national team has had.

"Liberius! A long time indeed!", said Frederick von Henslen, a distant relative of King George. "How's your government doing? And are you still dating that girl? Catherine was her name, right?"

King George's uncle, Ivan, approaches to the King of Llocsirdia. "Cricket? Well, in Brasland we are more fond of football. BTW, weren't you the one that was almost deposed by a mad general?"

Doing well! well, the prime minister hasn't acknowledged me as a real embassador yet, but I have a friend who's gonna put in a good word for me. Her name was Catherine Loquatieticus, and things didn't work out to well with us. You see, I saw her with who I later found out was her brother, but I thought she was cheating on me, long story short, I killed him in a duel. Anyways, These Hors d'oevres are wonderfull! Were'd you buy them? ... No, you probably made them... Anyways... So, how're things going in Brasland?

Football *mumbles* Anyways, I was walking, and a general came at me with a knife, guess he had the flu or something, but you know, happens every once in a while.

"I thought of thought a while ago. Well, technically it wasn't me, but the original me. See look."

He rolled up his right sleeve, revealing a large black number 1 branded on his arm.

"The original Lord Lowery was executed about 3 or 4 years ago.Went completely wacko. Forcibly deposed by his aides. I am the first of many clones he made of himself for just such an emergency. I could die right here, and the next clone would be popped out of his tank, ready to run the country in about an hour."

Frederick raised his eyebrow at Liberius' remark. Poor fellow. That happens when your country still accepts duels.

"We've been smooth since George assumed the throne, hopefully things will remain like this for a while. I see your King there is talking to my cousin Ivan, should we join them?"
