Revolution: Crisis in Anglo-Nippon

Postby Anglo-Nippon » Sun Dec 19, 2010 1:59 am

Excerpt from yesterday's A-N Post newspaper: -Today, Charles Miyamoto, President of Anglo-Nippon, made a shocking announcement during a live question period with the press. He renounced the style in which he has been running the government up until now. The government of Anglo-Nippon has been drifting more and more towards a Capitalist, Consumerist system. Mr. Miyamoto's remarks were touched with regret: "...and so I sincerely apologize, as I have allowed greed and the desire for economic strength drive me to sacrifice much of that upon which our Nation was founded...I swear to you that our Nation will never again stoop to the levels it has in these days, and we shall push ever forward to our goals of becoming a fair, socialist Nation!"
The political opposition, however, say it is too little, too late. "...and do you really think he will live up to his promises? after so long in this downward spiral, I think it unlikely," said the leader of the Socialist Radical Liberation Party, Kennichi Morimoto. "We must act now, people, lest this spiral continue!"
With debates becoming more and more heated, it is not clear that relative civility will be maintained much longer...-
Today: While sitting at his desk, Charles Miyamoto hears a loud bang outside his office - the sound of a gunshot - and rushes to the door. He opens it with a sweaty hand and comes face to face with an masked gunman. He can see a group of about 20 more down the hall in the lobby. The masked man speaks.
"Greetings, Fascist -" The voice is that of Kennichi Morimoto, but it is cut off quickly by the President slamming the door in his face.
His heart pounding, Miyamoto forces all his weight against the door, and twists the lock fiercely. He then dashes to his desk, and presses a button on the bottom of its surface. a clicking sound is heard from the back of a room, and a bookshelf swings forward slightly. The President runs to the shelf and pulls it outward, revealing a bunker door. Having safely sealed himself inside the bunker, Miyamoto turns his attention to the emergency Presidential Telegram Terminal, to send a distress signal to his closest ally, Jonathon Colaface of CocaPepsi.

Excerpt from National News Radio breaking news report: -...the Coup of the Government today by the SRL Party shocked us all. An estimated 2000 militia were assembled, starting about a week ago in secret, and today they marched on the national government buildings. The President has been trapped in his bunker, and - people, this just in; The seal on the bunker door has reportedly been broken, and the President has been taken hostage. No word on his condition thus far, and the party leader, Kennichi Morimoto, has not discussed his intents for Miyamoto with the press. The militia, calling themselves the LFF, or Liberation Fighting Force, now has patrols set up around the perimeter of the buildings, and inside them. Kennichi remains with the President inside his office...-

Jonathon stepped away from the official CocaPepsi Telegraph terminal. He understood the situation that had just occured in his neighbouring country, and realised that he must take action to stop Kennichi taking control of the country. He walked back into the main room of the CocaPepsi government Palace, and picked up the presidental phone, that led straight into the President's office in Anglo-Nippon. The phone rang, and rang, and then finally it was picked up, and a new voice answered the phone.
"Good Morning," said Kennichi, "It is good to hear from you, Jonathon. As you can most likely guess, I have taken control of the nation of Anglo-Nippon. The Socialist Radical Liberation Party, or SRL, have taken power, and have gotten rid of Charles. However, I still wish to have peace with your nation. Will you accept my hand of peace?"
Jonathon pondered for a moment, and then replied, "Yes, we will accept the terms of peace for now. However, if you threaten to take over any nation in this region, we will have no choice but to declare action. Now, I must leave, I will contact you later."
"If you must," said Kennichi. Jonathon put the phone down, and walked back over to the Telegraph machine. Charles had contacted him again, and wanted Jonathon to send him 5,000 troops, and lure Kennichi out of the country. Therefore, Charles could attempt a counter-revolution with the help of the basically trained CocaPepsi military force. Jonathon accepted, and phoned the Central CocaPepsi Military Base, and in several minutes, truck loads of soilders were mobilizing in the base, preparing for the drive to Anglo-Nippon. Jonathon then turned to the phone again, and it rang once more.
"Hello again, my friend," said Kennichi, with a slightly bored tone.
"My friend Kennichi," replied Jonathon, "will you join me for a drink in my own nation? I will send my special friends to pick you up in luxury, and we can discuss the future of our great nations!"
"I would be delighted, pick me up outside the National Government Building." said Kennichi, "I will see your men shortly?"
"Correct," stated Jonathon, and put the phone down.
Once more, Jonathon turned to the Telegraph terminal, and wrote a message to Charles:
'Charles, the plan was a success. The troops are preparing as we speak, and Kennichi is being picked up by my Prison Guards (aka. Special Friends). Let the counter-revolution be a success!'

OOC: Anemonian involvement? I think not. But the Asakurans have some degree of independence.

OOC: Ah, I think you may need to explain, as I don't really know what you're talking about :P who are the Asakurans, for one?

SIC: Kennichi steps away from the telegraph terminal. He looks over to the bonded, gagged President and grins. "That problem's taken care of," he says menacingly. "It looks like I have a job for my restless militia." He picks up a 2-way radio and pushes down the transmit button. "Commander James, prepare a battalion and have them sent to the north entrance of the government buildings. tell them to wait behind the shrubbery to the left of the walkway. one of my best men will arrive momentarily and explain further." "Yessir." comes the deadpan response. Kennichi gazes out the window a moment; the moon has hidden away behind the sea to the west. It wil be morning soon, and the soldiers from CocaPepsi will be here. Are they ever in for a surprise. And as for the rest of his party, what a bunch of fools. Socialism is a nice ideal, but humans will always need a leader, one who has the power to make the people do what he says, under any conditions. Kennichi sits down in the President's chair and begins to look over some documents: He'll need to know these when he's President.

The sun was just rising over the Anglo-Nippon Government Building as the Royal Buntley car of CocaPepsi rolled up to the front entrance. Two prison guards disguised as Luxury Limosine men stepped out of the car. They walked up towards the government palace, and waited at the gates in front of the Government Building, chatting amongst themselves. One pulled out a cigarette, and threw the empty cigarette box into a nearby bush.

The captain of the group of soldiers assigned to the front entrance of the Government Buildings tip-toed silently around the edge of the shrubbery. The poorly disguised guards sent by the neighboring nation were standing in the middle of the path. Fools, the captain thought to himself. making idle chat, they did not notice him rounding the corner, nor one of his men approacing from the bushes on the other side. Before the foreigners knew it, they had the cold steel muzzles of the soldiers' rifles pressed to the backs of their necks. "Don't move," the captain said in a low, hoarse whisper.

Both prison guards placed their hands above their heads, glancing over their shoulders at the men holding rifles to their necks. However, one man quickly knocked the rifle away with his elbow, which started to bleed, and darted for his own gun, and withdrew it, and pointed it at the captain, who was now threatening to kill the other prison guard.

Several shots came loudly from the bushes; moments later two CocaPepsian guards lay dead on the path. The captain and the other man scooped them up before they bled too much from the holes scattered across their bodies. The captain had four men carry the two dead guards off to a truck on the road. the men loaded the corpses in the back, closed the back doors, and gave the truck a pat. With that, it shot off down the road, leaving a thin cloud of dust trailing after it. One man twisted the keys in the ignition of the car the CocaPepsians left, and drove it around the corner into a concealed parking lot. The soldiers returned to their post to await the coming army...

A few minutes after the guards had been killed, five hundred Hummer's, each carrying 10 troops, rolled into the nation of Anglo-Nippon. They all drove towards their assigned destination; The Government Building. Eventually, the Jeeps made it to the Building, and they slowly stopped in a formation, with the troops stepping out into the road in front of the Building. Each troop was armed with a standard 10mm Pistol. However, special officers had been granted the privelidge of wielding an old Soviet AK-47 into the battlefield. Eventually, all the troops were now out of the vehicles, and facing the Government building, waiting. Suddenly, a rustle came from behind a nearby hedge...

Kennichi talked calmly into the two-way radio. "Send all battalions to the front entrance, have them barricade the door. Set up crow's nests in the windows immediately above the door." An estimated 4000, he thought to himself. Well, if I go down, I'm not going down without a fight.

The Battalion stationed at the front was down to a few men. The captain lay dead in the middle of the lane; his blood and several others' coated the stone in a red glossy sheen. bullets were shooting in every direction, as thousands bore down on a few. This was a losing battle.

The CocaPepsi troops were angry now. They thought they had been betrayed, and pushed to destroy every soldier that was in their way. Troops were falling from both sides, including 1,300 deaths from the CocaPepsi side, but eventually, many bullets and deaths later, the troops reached the door, and broke it down with force, guns still drawn, waiting to destroy anything that was in their path.

SIC: Meanwhile, unknown to Kennichi, Jonathon Colaface had arrived, and was out of harms way. He had come to strip Kennichi of his Presidency, and planned to execute him for what he had done not only to his troops, but to Charles aswell. He was going to destroy Kennichi regardless of what Charles might say.

A few stragglers ran about the halls of the Government building, trying to escape, but inevitably being mowed down by the relentless CocaPepsi forces. Charles could hear it all clearly now. He hoped against hope that rescue was imminent, that he wouldn't die in this room.

Kennichi paced in front of him, looking increasingly frustrated. He held a gun in his hand. listening to the havoc through the radio was grating on his nerves. He walked forward, his back turned, to peek out the door. Charles thought this might be his only chance. he gathered his courage, banished all the vomit inducing fear building in him, and raised himself up, still gagged, arms still bound, to his feet. As he dashed forward to tackle Morimoto, the man turned about, and noticed at the last moment what was happening. he ducked out of the way, and Charles fell forward into the door, slamming it shut with his weight. He tried to turn around, but the next thing he knew he felt the butt of Kennichi's pistol on his temple. He fell to the ground, his vision becoming hazy. As his blood trickled down his forehead onto the floor, he blacked out.

When he came to, with an immense headache, he was in Kennichi's choke hold, with the gun to the top of his head, surrounded by a score of CocaPepsi officers, all with their rifles trained on Kennichi...

The CocaPepsi troops had seen enough, and they had a plan. Kennichi was just one man, and there were many CocaPepsi troops there. And so they put the plan into action.
"Kennichi, you sick son of a bitch," shouted one troop, "let him go! You've been defeated. Accept it."
"I will never accept it," cried Kennichi at the top of his lungs, "and tightened his grasp on Charles. Charles vision began to suffer even more, with the darkness coming ever so closer. He closed his eyes, and everything became dark.

Charles, Charles, are you alright? Charles opened his eyes, and a familiar face came into view, slightly hazy, but nonetheless, it was a friendly face. It was Jonathon Colaface.
"Hello Charles, I thought we'd lost you for a moment there..."
Charles lifted his head slowly, and turned his head to the right. There was Kennichi, lying on the the ground, face first, in a pool of what presumably was his own blood. Charles also noticed there was a knife sticking in the side of Kennichi's neck.
"We had to do it," stated one of the troops, who had clearly seen Charles looking at the body. "Our orders were to protect you at any cost, and that is what happened."
"Now, Charles," said Jonathon, slowly, "you've been treated pretty badly over the past few days. Would you like some of my troops to stay here, and protect you? We don't want a repeat of this anytime soon. And hopefully," he said, quite sarcastically, "that will teach any rebel group not to mess with a Communist army and ideals."
Charles grinned. He was not dead, and had control over his country again.
"It's good to be back in power," he smiled.

Greater Things

Postby Anglo-Nippon » Wed Dec 22, 2010 2:49 am

Excerpt from a live radio interview with Charles Miyamoto, the day after the abrupt end to the military coup: "... My dear people, this is a glorious day for me, and, I should hope, for all of you. The foul man, Kennichi, who's plan it was to utilize "Communist" propaganda in order to establish a dictatorship in our fair land, has be stopped. I have been returned to my position: the position of guide and advisor to you, my people, in these unsure times. And let there be no mistake, I will never again abuse my power; I will never again strive for anything but the best for my people, as we move on towards greater things!"

Having been re-instated, the Leader of Anglo-Nippon plans to wipe the slate, and start afresh as a true Socialist.
