8 hours ago, A military task force landed on an island near Christantle. Overnight troop numbers are to reach over 100,000 soldiers in a protective role against an imminent Invasion by Ryou. This has been criticized as overkill and it has been said that 100,000 troops is too many to deploy and support for any period of time. King Biggles IV addresses his government.
Minister Tiberius, Minister of Finance, stands up before the Assembled Government.
"Why are we sending 100,000 troops into a situation that has not happened yet? I demand an answer from the King. It is not fiscally responsible to maintain such a force overseas."
The other ministers all start talking at once until the two guards by the door snap to attention. "All stand for the King." Says one of the Guards as he opens the door. All the Ministers stand up as King Biggles IV strides in.
"Sit down, sit down." Says the king as he takes his place at the head of the table.
"Your majesty, your ministers are wondering why we have sent 100,000 troops overnight." The King's political adviser says to him.
"That is a fair question. I decided to make a show of force to any nation who thinks they can declare war like Ryou did. I will not stand for this." The King explains fiddling with an expensive gold ring.
"But they have not even set foot on Christantle soil and you send 100,000 men just like that" Queries the Minister of Education.
"Ahhhh, shut up. Your the Minister of Education, for crying out loud, you don't have anything useful to say so I don't want to hear another peep out of you. Is that understood?" Bellows the King.
"Yes, your majesty." says the Minister of Education, feeling downtrodden.
"Anyways, back to more important business, are there any relevant questions from ministers who I actually care to hear from?"
"Yes, your majesty." Says the Minister of Defense, "I wish to discuss your plans for the war in Christantle."
"Right, very good, go ahead." The King strokes his beard thoughtfully.
"They have been good enough to give us an island with an airfield. Once the task force gets there, we will have full naval capabilities and be able to provide assistance in the air and on land."
"Yes, that sounds good." The King exclaims.
"Your majesty, might I say a few words in the discussion?" Says General Sanborn, Chief of Defense Staff.
"All right, General, I'll allow it." The King mumbles, getting bored already, not really caring about the input of his ministers.
"I would like your permission to expand our military presence in the Christantle Area to upwards of one million soldiers."
The King sits up right in his chair and stops fiddling with his ring. The whole room is silent and staring at General Sanborn.
"ONE MILLION SOLDIERS? EXPLAIN THIS GENERAL!" The King shouts, banging his fists on the table.
"Yes, your Majesty, I think our current commitment is not enough and one million troops will be a great show of force to any other nations thinking of committing such horrible acts of war. We cannot allow a Crusade to eliminate a religion to happen under our noses." The General explains nervously, hoping to not be sent to some godforsaken desert posting.
"Very good, General, I like your thinking. Do you have a plan for what units to send and a plan for them all?"
"Your Majesty, I must interrupt, I think 1 million troops for a war that has not even started is pushing it, even for a massive show of force." Says the Minister of Foreign Relations. "I do not know how Christantle will feel about 1 million of our troops stationed in their country.
"Do not question my decisions, minister. You do remember the old Minister of Foreign Relations who is now Minister of Public Hygiene in a tiny island with a population of two goats and an old farmer." The King says, going red in the face and raising his voice.
"I WILL COMMIT HOWEVER MANY TROOPS I WANT TO WHATEVER I DEEM NECESSARY! I am allowing the Minister of Defense and General Sanborn to send as many as 300,000 more troops to the Christantle Mission at this point. We cannot have acts like this happening. Ryou must learn that this will not be tolerated. Should they begin offensive operations against Christantle, we will be forced to declare war with them and mobilize troops against them. " Said the King, feeling bold and rather powerful.
From: Minister of Foreign Relations (Gulf of Dennis)
To: Ryou, Christantle, and any other concerned parties.
The Gulf of Dennis is prepared for a full scale war with Ryou. Ryou should turn it's forces around before they reach Christantle because tomorrow afternoon, two more fleets will set sail for Christantle, along with 300,000 more troops. Should you still wish to wage war with Christantle over a Religious issue and proceed to attack them, you will be overcome by our troops and we will declare official war against you. King Biggles IV and the Gulf of Dennis is ready, are you?
