While normally I would say something extremely witty and mind numbingly pointless at the start of a official message, my leg is hurting me at the moment and is stopping the flow of cleverness to my brain and fingers. As such, you must do without. Shame, really. I could have thought of something grand for this occasion.

To the point, then. Not three days ago, an attempt was made on my life as I made for my motorcade. The armored vehicle exploded, and whilst I escaped the situation, I received a healthy dose of shrapnel in the leg. The doctors say I shall make a full recovery, but shall have a slight limp. This is incredibly displeasing. I wanted to be either fully crippled or miraculously fine. Both would serve as charming propaganda pictures, no?

It was not the attack that offended me, no. It was the perpetrators. Not long after the attack, riots occurred, mainly in the heavily Christian part of the nation. Graffiti was also placed on my estates wall. Troublesome. One of the bodies of my attackers, coincidentally, was wearing a cross. I think this is all the proof I need to say the Christian minority was responsible for the attack, riots, and general trouble caused by this whole event.

As such, I make the following declaration, using my power under martial law due to rioting to enact it;

Act of Intolerance(Of the Christian Faith)
Due to the widespread hate spread by the Christian Faith and its recent acts of treason, rebellion, attempted assassination and other heinous acts, the Great Celtic Federation of Ceannairceach hereby enacts the following;
I. Christian churches are to be considered government property, to be refurbished, reused, or sold on whim. Only minor, unofficial areas may be used for services.

II. Christian Priests, bishops, etc are to be deemed suspects of treason and searched to the fullest extent of justice under martial law. There rights as clergymen are to be suspended or removed. They are to be stripped of all land and possessions not belonging to them (e.g. Church property, etc).

III. Christianity is to be banned as a public religion. All symbols of the faith are to be taken down or kept indoors. The religion shall no longer be recognized in schools with the exception of historical significance.

IV. The Holy Bible is to be removed from all public libraries, with the exception of one copy to be placed under lock and key.

V. Christians are to keep there faith indoors. Practicing in public shall be considered a misdemeanor, punishable by fines or jail time.

These acts are necessary to protect the majority of Ceanns. Some may view it as harsh, but it is not when one considers the dangers of a religion such as Christianity. Now, feel free to send me the usual grievances that come from such an event.
Good day,
Markus A. Lindon

Official Statement

To One Markus A. Lindon, CL,

It horrifies and ashames me that you would take such action. Religion is the life blood of, well life. Constricting religion, is like constricting the femoral artery of the soul. Religions, of all kinds are things to be celebrated publicly, not hidden away in a box, or a closet. The fact that you, on behalf of your people, have taken such action against religion is quite a scary thing. Breaking the sacred bond between a government and religion is not something to be done lightly on a whim, as you clearly have. What if it had been your own guards? Would you have arrested them all, and made it illegal to guard you? No of course you would not, because that would be silly, and wrong. But, because it is a religion, you feel you can do as you wish? Nobody cares about religions is that it? They can be pushed around because they are weak and powerless? My advice to you today Mr. Liddon, pick on someone your own size, not something smaller and weaker then you, because if you do, then someone larger, and stronger then you may just come along to pick on you, and then how would you feel?

On a side not, Prostrate Horton Homes, is quite regretful that he could not pen this communique, however he is in the field doing maneuvers and is unavailable at this time. I am sure he would offer his most sincere apologizes if he could.

Whoa!! An explosion made you an atheist!! Well, anyway I insist you to cease the Declaration of Intolerance on your nation. If you still persist, I would have no choice but to step you down and make your nation a Theocracy. Worst nightmare, right??

While the Igovian Soviet Commonwealth felt no need to comment officially on what was thought to be in large part a matter internal to a state of dubious ideological standing, the measures did receive some coverage in domestic newsmedia, and were received with widespread approval: few in Beddgelert believe that a Celt is a Celt if he practices what is popularly called the imperial faith, and most in fact are disappointed that greater efforts will not apparently be put to the stamping-out the Christian fifth column that may continue to exist in Ceann homes.

Greetings Grand Chancellor Lindon,
Whilst we believe in religious freedom, we also believe that the government has the ability to do as they please regarding that religious freedom and other freedoms. Therefore I ask that you ignore the religious fanatics that will undoubtedly nag you claiming you did a terrible thing in separating government from religion or something of the like. Now that's the way it should be. Government and religion should be separated. Anyways, Erathore and myself fully support this action.

We understand the anger and danger that the recent actions of the Catholics have brought you. However, despite the various attacks on your property and your person, we urge you not to discriminate against the Catholics in your country. I am sure that though your attacker might be a Christian, not all of the Christians in your country want to kill you. Therfore, we ask that you lift this act that you have imposed upon your country. It is for the equal treatment of all your citizens.

If we cannot sway you to get rid of these laws, then we offer a compromise. It is in Marinismo's best interest that these people be treated equally. It is in your best interest that your life remain intact. If we may, we request that you send the Christians from your country into our nation where they can freely practice their religion any way they wish. This will also keep them far away from you that it would be impossible to plan another attempt at your life.

We hope you think about the options we have presented. We only have the best interests at heart, as we are sure you do too.

Several flocks of owls fly into Ceannairceach from the East, splitting off to fly two or three to each small village; or four to six for large towns. Each of the birds flew to the centers of town or other major populated area, landing within easy sight and reach of Ceann citizens. They all wear small harnesses that bear five small scrolls, bearing identical script. The text is written twice with a flowing hand, in both English and Gaeilge.

Sources tell us the Ceannairceach government has recently moved to eliminate the Christian faith within its borders. If you wish to seek asylum, you are welcome to join the Community of Eireann Fae. For more information, give the owl that bore this message a reply scroll in its harness, and speak the word "Mönʃin"! We will make arrangements to receive all refugees, Christian or otherwise, from Ceannairceach.

Vortiaganica notes that you have already been asked repeatedly to repeal this act.

We have for you, a second argument to why.

Does it not seem very convenient that one of your attackers would be carrying any identification? Let alone a cross, in plain sight, instead of leaving it at home or away from his body?

This has nothing to do with the fact that the attack took place within a heavily Christian area.

We must point out that it seems, not that it was a Christian attack, but that some other minority has framed Christianity.

If it should not be to your liking to find the REAL perpetrators and inflict TRUE judgement, look at it another way.

If the Christian denomination WAS framed, and we do say If, then you are not only letting a violent, anti-Ceannairceach minority group defeat you, you are also helping them bring you down from the inside.

With condolences for the loss of your Christian minority, and gladness that loss was not to be imposed on yourself,

Religion is most certainly not the life blood of anything, besides perhaps hate, fear, and destruction, as well as false hope and lies. Though I hold this belief, I would rather not force it on others. As such, most religions remain free to do as they wish in blessed ignorance. However, our rather vocal Christian minority has forfeited that right when they not only endangered my life, but the lives of the populace of Ceannairceach. Surely this is something that creates grounds for the public banning of a religion, no?

I would also like to point out the insanity of your comparative. For one, my guards have submitted to a death sentence, quite literally, in volunteering to guard me. They die before me, stop a bullet, whatnot. I believe two died in the explosion, if memory serves me right. Horrid ordeal. Gave the medals and the usual hurrah. Secondly, it would be foolish to outlaw guarding me. If it were my Blackguard that attacked me, and I survived by some lucky break, then I would simply have my current guard purged and replaced. No need to scrap the system.

I do not feel religion will not be cared about. Quite the opposite, truthfully. I anticipated the figurative shit to hit the figurative fan when I sent the original message. However, I feel that, as a ruler of a sovereign and independent nation, I have the right to do as I please so long as it is within the parameters of the Ceann Federal Doctrine, the beliefs of the Ceann people and Ceann Party, and in the best judgment for the nation as a whole. Currently, the best judgment is to outlaw Christianity as a public religion.

To answer your final question, I would feel glad that my actions have gathered attention from the political giants of our world. I would then call upon my large, imperialist, and powerful allies to assist me and ensure my rights as a sovereign nation are protected.

As a final note, Hal, you mispelled my name in your third to last sentence. Its Lindon, as you spelled it in your address, not Liddon. That just sounds ridiculous.

An explosion cannot change what was already there. Just because I invented a religion does not mean I believe in a deity.

To quote myself from early on in my political career, "I am a ruler of a sovereign, independent, and damn well powerful nation and therefore reserve the right to do as I please!" To add on context, this refers to anything within the parameters of the Ceann Federal Doctrine and any joining rules followed in Ceannairceach.

To finish, I would like to point out that your nation is about the equivilent to a bug compared to my own Celtic Dragon. I would suggest to you that you not threaten your superiors.

Thank you kindly for the support, though I believe it is misplaced. You are describing it as if I have banned Christianity from the government; Hardly. I have made it illegal, punishable by fines or jail time, to display Christian symbols, beliefs, etc in public. Whilst I hope you do not recant your support, you may wish to reconsider.

Sadly, we have no Catholics in Ceannairceach. Or if we do, they never take the census and must be fined. The alleged attackers are member of the Christian organization known as the Westchroi Baptists, who due to recent studies do make up a significant (estimated to be between twenty and thirty) percent of our Christian population. And while I am personally offended by these radicals, the attacks, riots and other such disturbances are not the only reasons behind the banning. Christianity is, inherently, a religion of hate, discrimination and evil. It promotes murder, genocide, discrimination, and lies. This is why it is in the public's best interest that it be removed from the public eye.

And whilst your offer is generous, Ceannairceach has, in force, a strict anti-emigration policy, only allowing those who have gone through years upon years of paperwork, or are deemed to undesirable or useless, to leave. Sadly, Christians are, despite there faith, still useful, and so long as they do not continue to rise up, they shall not be harmed. It is for these reasons that I cannot adhere to your request.

I would like to express my deepest apologies for the death of your pigeon owl. A hunting party shot one out of the sky on its transit to, presumably, a "small village or large town". Sent with this message will be its frozen remains for burial in whatever way you see fit.

However, now that I have squired this message, I wish to bring up some points. For one, it is only the relatively small Christian populace, of which we don't exactly know the limit of as it is listed under "Abrahamic Religions" in our national census, that are being "oppressed." And if restricting there religion to there homes is such a horrid oppression, then I must be a new tyrant in the making.

And, whilst your offers to my citizens is a kind gesture, I would like to point out that we have closed borders to emigration, and have for quite some time. If you can get them out, however, in bulk, i shall award you some frivolous piece of metal and ribbon as reward.

Good day,

Well, then if this is true, then I shall seek the group immediately.

However, it is most likely not true, and as such I will not waste resources attempting to chase a ghost. I, as a ruler, cannot waste time when a plausible, evident and ready answer is right before me. If evidence was presented to the contrary, I would follow such, but at the moment the evidence points to Christianity.

Good day,
Markus A. Lindon

Official Statement

To One M. A. Lindon, CL,

My dear sir, it is quite sad that you feel the way you do, clearly religion has not and does not play a large role in your day to day life. This is quite depressing indeed. The fact that you are kept alone in the darkness however, is no excuse for forcing such a fate on others. Just because you are unable to see the forest through the trees, does not mean that you need place blinders upon your own citizens. As you have stated, you are a sovereign nation, and free to do as you wish under that sovereignty, to a point. That point however, has not been reach, for had it, I would not be satisfied in simply writing this message to you. I only hope that you may see the light and realize the error of your ways. The alternative is not something that dignified persons discuss, ever. Can you not see that you are the one spreading hate, discriminating, and oppressing your own people. Your actions against Christians are hateful, discriminatory, and oppressive. You cannot fight hate with hate, discrimination with discrimination. Hate must be fought with love, discrimination with acceptance. These are the virtues that religions teach. These are what those who follow them strive towards. You good sir, are nothing more then a play ground bully who has suddenly found himself in the principals office. I hope these words find you well, and make you think, even if for only a second, that you may be wrong, for if not, then you are indeed to far gone, and nothing I or anyone else says will change anything. I sense great fear on the horizon, hopefully it can be averted.
