They had stopped in a weapons testing lab next to what looked like a gun mounted on a tripod with a dish instead of a barrel.
"This little number was knocked up as a little experiment, based on some info you gave us" She said

"Well you see," Zoe said, Lifting the weapon up to her height and pointing it at a target "this is A Highly Directional, Ultrasonic Beam of Vogon Poetry."
She pulled the trigger and a the room filled with an electronic distorted scream of white noise.
The Target Split apart and scattered itself around the room harmlessly.
Zoe Turned off the weapon.
"It Kills!"

She pointed to a Plain white sphere with a little red button and a handle on the side.

"You press the Button and Kick it in the air and it'll float up to a certain hight and follow you around, giving you light to see" Zoe said "We feel it'll be really useful for offworld exploration"
