Postby OMGeverynameistaken » Thu Dec 09, 2010 2:53 am

Ministry of Tourism: Counter-Revolution Day
A Message to the Nations of the Galaxy:

Greetings,

The Minister of Tourism is issuing an official invitation to various heads of state to attend the events of Counter-Revolution Day in the Russian Empire, which will include a two-day historical tour of Moscow and St. Petersburg, the St. Nicholas' Day Parade, a state dinner and the Sol Fleet Review. Many delegates from various Sol states will be in attendance and it is our pleasure to, for the first time, extend a formal invitation to our galactic neighbors to attend this important celebration of the events of Earth's history.

For reasons of security and in order to make preparations for accommodations, we ask that non-Sol states wishing to attend send notification in order that we can arrange for a safe and enjoyable visit to Sol.

We ask that each party provide the following information:

Head of Party:

Number of Attendees (Incl. Servants/Assistants):

Number of Security Personnel:

Environmental Requirements outside of Sol-Earth norms:

Dietary Requirements outside of Human norms:

Special Housing Requirements:

Means of Address for Titled Members of the party:

Sol states need not apply via this form, as their attendance has been pre-arranged.

We ask that all attendees respect the traditions of the Counter-Revolution Day in Sol, as a time of celebration and joy and that they not engage in any hostilities with other attendees, regardless of any ongoing conflict in the galaxy at large. Any violence will be dealt with and those involved will be ejected from the Russian Empire.

The schedule of events is as follows, attendance to each event is optional, but space will be reserved for each attendee:

Moscow:
July 17/18:
On July 17 all citizens are given the day off, generally to participate in low-key celebrations, or to attend state feasts.
At noon a formal reception for the arrivals will be held at the Great Kremlin Palace's Georgievsky Hall.
Starting at 1:35am a ten minute silence is observed and, at 2:00 icons of the murdered members of the Imperial family are paraded through most major cities of the Russian Empire while all of the major churches toll their bells. Many Russians wear mourning clothes on this occasion, as it marks not only the death of the Imperial family, but is considered a date of remembrance for all those killed in the Civil War. Many small memorial services take place.
At noon on the 18th, a ceremony will be held to mark the interring of a soldier in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden, next to the Kremlin walls.

July 19:
The 19th is designated a 'free' in that no particular events are scheduled. Attendees may roam Moscow at will, see the sights and so forth. Much of the Kremlin is open to the public, including the famous Cathedral of the Dormition where the Tsars are traditionally crowned, and the Armory, one of the oldest public museums in Russia. Otherwise they may rest and enjoy the many fine accouterments available in Moscow's finest hotel establishments.

July 21:
Attendees will be given a tour of Nicholas Station, where the Izmailovsky Regiment made its famous last stand against the Red Army during the Retreat from Moscow. The nearby Izmailovsky Regimental Shrine will also be visited, which marks the location of the mass grave where the regiment's members were interred by the Red Army.
Following this and a break for lunch, the tour will proceed to the Bolshoi Theater to attend the Don Cossack Choir Memorial Concert, a yearly event held by the famous group.

July 22:
The final day in Moscow will be marked by the July Parade, the largest annually held military parade in Russia. This year over 100,000 troops will be participating, including some of the oldest Lifeguard regiments, the Preobrazhensky, Semenovsky, Izmailovsky, Pavlovsky and the Chevalier Guards.
The parade's schedule is as follows:
-10:00am marks the start of the parade as noted by the ringing of the bells in the Spasskaya tower
-March-Past of the Flag of Russia and the Moscow Victory Flag
-Opening speech by the Tsar
-Playing of the National Anthem
-Opening ceremony (Minister of War inspects troops, salutes Parade Commander)
-Historical Troops March-Past (56th Moscow Infantry Regiment, 12th Irkutsk Infantry Regiment, Guards Dragoons, and 2nd Sevestopol Infantry (as Volunteer Army soldiers), 3rd Regiment Equippage, 10th Air Brigade, in historic uniform)
-Foreign Troops March-Past
-Life Guards March-Past
-Infantry March-Past
-Cavalry March-Past
-Artillery Troops March-Past
-Cossack/Auxiliary Troops March-Past
-Flyover by the cruiser Alexander Nevsky and the Lifeguard Air Brigade.

This years ceremony may also be the first in which foreign troops participate in the march-past. Invitations have been extended to the British, French, Japanese, Eastern Roman and American governments (who deployed soldiers to Russia to fight against the Communists) to participate. This years march-past will also be the first to feature non-human troops, the 1st Assyrian Regiment will be taking part in the Auxiliary Troops march-past.

At the end of the parade, attendees may either travel via the historic Moscow-St. Petersburg railway or take the more modern monorail to their St. Petersburg accommodations.

St. Petersburg:

July 24th:
A free day in St. Petersburg to enjoy the sights, and take part in the city's vibrant winter culture. Tour participants are encouraged to partake of the city's numerous 'ice mountains,' artificial hills of snow employed in sledding. Ice skating on the Neva and ice sculpture is also popular in the city this time of year.

July 25th:
Tour of the Admirality Yard, where 250 Naval Cadets and 500 marines held the drydocked Baltic Fleet against the communist traitors in their midst.
Later on a display of authentic early 20th century battle tactics will take place in the Gulf of Finland. Participating will be replicas of the Battleships Gangut and Izmail, as well as several smaller vessels.

July 26th:
St. Petersburg Liberation Festival, held traditionally two days prior to Counter-Revolution Day, is marked by fireworks, celebration, and the firing of the cannons of the Peter and Paul Fortress. A state dinner will later be held at the Winter Palace with the Tsar in attendance.

July 27th:
Tour of the St. Petersburg Underground, including Avtovo Station, the site of the Battle of the Underground where White Army Forces were forced to retreat into the Metro by Red Army artillery bombardments.
The remainder of the day will be spent in the Hermitage Museum, the largest art museum on Earth.

July 28th:
Counter-Revolution Day is marked by a small parade at the Peter and Paul Fortress by historical troops, as well as the oath-swearing of the Preobrazhensky, Semenovsky and Izmailovsky Lifeguard Regiments and the St. Petersburg Admiralty Cadet Graduation Ceremony. Attendees may participate in the ceremonial procession through St. Catherine's Cathedral mausoleum, where the remains of reigning Tsars have traditionally been interred.
Finally, a brief tour of the island will be conducted, including the former mint building and the city museum.

July 29th:
The final day of the event, a light lunch will be held at Peterhof Palace and the attendees taken via the Peterhof Space Elevator to the Tsar's personal viewing station in order to observe the Imperial Fleet Review, in which the entire Sol fleet will be taking part. Participants may then take part in a tour of the Suvorov, the flagship of the Sol fleet.

I thank you for your time in reading this letter and will be pleased to receive your replies,

To Her Majesty, Queen Alexandria of England,
From His High Excellency, Count Dmitry Alekseyevich Milyutin, Minister of War for the Russian Empire

Greetings,

I am pleased to present to Your Majesty an offer from my lord in regards to the July 22nd Victory Parade in Moscow. Specifically, he has requested that the British Empire dispatch a small company of troops to take part in the parade as a display of the international victory over Communism, the friendship between our two states, and international solidarity in the face of threats to civilization as we know it.

He has noted that the ordering of foreign troops will be at the head of the parade, after the march-past of Russian historical troops. Specific ordering of foreign units will be by comparative order of precedence, that is to say, the more prestigious regiments will be in front.

We would also be pleased if Your Majesty, or a representative, would attend the various ceremonies. This year His Majesty has invited a number of Galactic dignitaries and so, I am told, the festivities will be particularly grand this year.

Signed,
HHE M. Dmitry A. Milyutin

From His High Excellency, Count Dmitry Alekseyevich Milyutin, Minister of War for the Russian Empire

Greetings,

I am pleased to present to Your Majesty an offer from my lord in regards to the July 22nd Victory Parade in Moscow. Specifically, he has requested that the French Empire be present as one of the nations which bravely assisted the Russian Empire in its moment of greatest crises, contributing soldiers to the cause of defeating Communism. This year a number of foreign states will be participating in the July 22nd parade.

He has noted that the ordering of foreign troops will be at the head of the parade, after the march-past of Russian historical troops. Specific ordering of foreign units will be by comparative order of precedence, that is to say, the more prestigious regiments will be in front.

I have been informed that a number of foreign dignitaries, including several from non-Sol states, will be taking part. My lord has informed me that he would be pleased if you would wish to attend as well, although if you are unable another representative will be welcomed.

Greetings,

I am pleased to present to Your Excellency an offer from my lord in regards to the July 22nd Victory Parade in Moscow. Specifically, he has requested that the Federated States be present as one of the nations which bravely assisted the Russian Empire in the final days of the First Great War and into the dark days of the Russian Revolution. This year a number of foreign states will be participating in the July 22nd parade, and an American presence would be welcomed.

He has noted that the ordering of foreign troops will be at the head of the parade, after the march-past of Russian historical troops. Specific ordering of foreign units will be by comparative order of precedence, that is to say, the more prestigious regiments will be in front.

Greetings,

I am pleased to present to Your Majesty an offer from my lord in regards to the July 22nd Victory Parade in Moscow. Greetings,

I am pleased to present to Your Majesty an offer from my lord in regards to the July 22nd Victory Parade in Moscow. The Japanese Empire, of course, held no great love of Russia in the early 20th century, but they overcame their animosity and joined hands with their Russian brothers to defeat Communism. As such, my lord has extended an offer for Japanese troops to march in the July 22nd parade.

He has noted that the ordering of foreign troops will be at the head of the parade, after the march-past of Russian historical troops. Specific ordering of foreign units will be by comparative order of precedence, that is to say, the more prestigious regiments will be in front.

A General Dispatch to Sol Nations
From His High Excellency, Baron Pyotr Meller-Zakomelskiy

My Lords and Ladies, greetings,

As you all know, a time of great celebration across the world is nearing. This month many nations celebrate the defeat of Communism, the savior of Monarchy and the glory of Earth as a shining beacon of civilization in the galaxy. This month is of particular importance in the Russian Empire, being both a time of celebration and mourning for those lost to the Communist barbarians.

My lord, Tsar Nicholas IX of Russia, hereby extends a formal invitation to all the states of Sol to attend the celebratory events and will, of course, send his own representatives and, although he is unable to attend all ceremonies across the world, make an effort to be present in those of particular importance or of close relation to Russia.

It should be noted that this year non-Sol nations have been invited to formally attend and, as such, security measures have been increased somewhat from last year. We trust that you will understand this requirement. As a means of compensation for this inconvenience, I will be personally directing the events in question and, should anything cause complaint, will be present to deal directly with the issue.

I and my lord are looking forward to your attendance,

Signed,
HHE Baron Pyotr Meller-Zakomelskiy

Head of Party: Komtur Heinz Von Starbau

Number of Attendees: 12 (The Komtur, 7 Bodyguards, 2 Batman, 1 Secretary and an Auxiliary)

Number of Security Personnel: Seven Bodyguards

Environmental Requirements outside of Sol-Earth norms: None

Dietary Requirements outside of Human norms: None

Special Housing Requirements: None

Means of Address for Titled Members of the party: Herr Komtur

As the elevator eased in towards Moscow, Komtur Heinz Aurelius Von Starbau's cold eyes glanced over the rooftops of the city. His lips curled into an expression of contempt. The inner parts of Moscow were scattered with ornate, traditional architecture, the famous Cathedral of St Basil, the infamous Kremlin Citadel... Von Starbau had no tolerance for decadence. He lived a spartan life. He always had. Growing up in suburban Berlin, fighting heathens across the stars, all he had had was his fists, his God, and his gangmates, his comrades and the thrill of the fight. The rich were weak and cowardly, or soon became so. Plainness was the path to purity and thence to God, materialism was the Devil's handmaiden.

"Herr Komtur." Called the harsh voice of the operator. "We're about to land."

The Ordenweltraum and the New Teutonic Order was ambivalent about the Russians. Whilst they were suitably autocratic and possessed a healthy respect for God, the fact that they were Eastern heretics made matters more complicated. Still, it was good to build relation with like-minded states, perhaps they could work together for a while, before their interests... collided. Anyway, these matters were far beyond Von Starbau's control. All he could do was forge some ties, gather some information and have a good time in Moscow. The Order had formally picked him for his familiarity with the East. This was of course a lie. He hadn't been back on Earth since he was fifteen. It was his amiable and tacit manner that had really done it. All other officers of suitable rank and proximity to Sol 3 were either to arrogant or ham-fisted to be considered.

Von Starbau took a deep breath as the elevator came to a stop. The Order disapproved of these unholy contraptions. They defiled the natural beauty of the worlds that God had created. But the Russians were very precious with their airspace, and the Order was eager to impress.

Head of Party: Her Imperial Majesty Empress Nukatabe of Japan

Number of Attendees (Incl. Servants/Assistants): 28
- 15 servants
- 10 samurai guards (inc. His Highness Marquess Konoe Arata)
- Her Imperial Majesty
- Ashigakura Hatoyama, Minister of Foreign Affairs
- General Okinawa Gorou

Number of Security Personnel: 10 Imperial samurai personal guards

Environmental Requirements outside of Sol-Earth norms: None

Dietary Requirements outside of Human norms: Her Imperial Majesty is a vegetarian.

Special Housing Requirements: It should be ensured that Her Majesty's chambers are fitting for the wife of a God.

Means of Address for Titled Members of the party:

Empress Nukatabe- Imperial Majesty, Majesty

Chief of Samurai guard- Highness, Duke

Ashigakura Hatoyama, Minister of Foreign Affairs- Excellency, Minister

General Okinawa Gorou, also Viscount (shishaku) Lord Gorou- General/Lord Gorou
Her Imperial Majesty was not used to state visits, which were usually conducted by His Imperial Majesty the Emperor. As the Empress looked out the window of her private shuttle, the Mother Pearl, her fellow travellers- General Lord Okinawa Gorou and Ashigakura Hatoyama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs- began discussing the various xenos that they might meet at the event. This perked the Empress' interest, and she turned to listen to them as they began to discuss the Romans who had recently invaded the Sol system.

"I doubt they will be in attendance," said the General. "They're not exactly welcome here in Sol."
"Did you hear, apparently they are fighting some other aliens with Russia's help in Afghanistan," replied Hatoyama.
"Ridiculous. That's just some silly story the Russians made up to disguise the fact that they're friends with xenos."
"They do look human... " offered the Empress. The General snorted.
"Oh, yes, they're human, and they're Roman, but they're not Terran and they're not from our Rome, Your Imperial Majesty."

The Minister then began to speak again; "Lord Gorou, do you think that we shall encounter any non-humanoids?"
"I imagine so. Spies, most likely, here to uncover Earth's secrets."
"I wonder," said the Empress, "are aliens born evil?"
"No one is born evil, Majesty," said the Minister. "I expect there are many good, uncorrupted xenos, but its their barbarian leaders who threaten our glorious Japanese state."
"Personally," said the General, "I'd chose xenos over those damned French and their Cytherean allies any day."

Servants came out to offer the delegates hot tea. At this point, Konoe Arata, the chief guard and Marquess of the House of Konoe, joined the conversation.
"I would say that any xenos we meet will likely be ones familiar with the Russians, and therefore opposed to Japan. You know that the disgraceful Russian Czar hates our great nation."
"My husband says he was a kind and generous man, once," added the Empress, "but that leadership has hardened him."
"Not so with your husband, Majesty. His Current Imperial Majesty is the most decent Sovereign Japan has had in many years. Civilized rulers make civilized nations," replied the General. All three men nodded.

Finally, the ship approached Moscow International Spaceport, and began to descend gracefully. The Empress wondered what kind of reception would greet them. Her companions were equally unnerved, and began to fidgit uncontrollably.

The two Imperial delegates quietly descended the space elevator, having boarded from the diplomatic transport in orbit some time ago. Any communication between them would be done telepathically, of course, so as to not allow any observers to pick up on their thoughts. Valdrako looked down nostalgically. I wonder if this will be similar to our Sol...? It has been some time since I last set foot in Moscow; I don't know if I'll recognize anything.

Just think of it as convergent social evolution. It's a different place, that's all. Valdrako had to agree with the Penvicaria.

Arryiana of course, wasn't with them; as she was the Amaranthine ambassador to the Russian Empire, she had been working with the Russian government so as to make the delegation's arrival as smooth as possible. There was suggestion that the planet in general harbored intense xenophobia, and thus it was best for the Kaesthari and the demon to appear as human as possible, but also avoid too many public areas cultivating intense racism. Xrakost adjusted his necktie, the three piece suit the avatar wore fitting him gracefully, if rigidly. You know, I don't know what you bitch about all the time; this suit really isn't that uncomfortable.

Please aggressively fornicate with a spined wyrm. These torture contraptions perfectly demonstrate the fallen and depraved nature of mankind. They both stepped out into the sun where Arryiana hopefully had arranged for transport. The Penvicaria and chief of staff wore similar cuts of suit, and similar colors. Xrakost took from his pocket a pair of sunglasses and turned to his partner.

"Deal with it."

Graziano, Gregorio and Gerardo sat around a coffee table on the SNF Gloria, they all held shot of whisky in their hands and they were discussing the diplomatic visit to Russia. Gregorio looked over the lengthy schedule which one of the 3 attaches had handed him. He sighed and set down the schedule, none of them were very keen on diplomatic talks much less sightseeing, but the opportunity to better Two Sicilies diplomatic standings among other nations. Gregorio finished his shot and set it on the table,

"I have to admit I'm not looking forward to having all this sight seeing ahead of me." Gerardo and Graziano both nodded, Graziano set down his shot,

"Diplomatic relations are long and tiring and the process often takes several months. This occasion gives us a great opportunity to distinguish our selves among the other Italian states. Anyway it wont be so bad, Im looking forward to seeing the mighty russian army it'll be interesting to see their take on the military, it might give us some ideas for our own army." Gerardo nodded,

"I have to say there is a lot of things on this list."

Before the conversation could go any further the captain of the Praetorian guard approached the three diplomats,

"Your highness general and admiral. I would like to tell you that we are about to land at the Moscow International space port." The three officials stood up as the Gloria touched down. They made their way to the exit as the ship came to a rest. They each stepped off the ship and onto Russian soil. They patiently awaited for someone to greet them and show them where to go.

To:Count Dmitry Alekseyevich Milyutin, Minister of War for the Russian Empire
From: Basileus Dmitrios Palakoniokus,
I would like to thank you for your invitation to this historic day. I myself will be attending to the event along with the Duke of Greece, Constantine Perou. I would also like to donate the 1st and 3rd Imperial Guardsman regiments for the parade towards the end of the even with the parade,

Dmitrios leaned back agaisnt he walls of the space elevator and looked to the right at his small companion. smiling slightly he said

''You know the whether up here is quite a fair bit cooler than what you might fin down in the Aegean, I hope you brought a coat''

''The whether seems fine at the moment?''

''That's because the heaters are still on, it makes quite a difference''. Stretching his legs he let out a small yawn an shook himslef a bit.

''You know this is a really the first time the Government of Romania will have attended an event that will be attended to the leaders or the dignateries of leaders from the other major Sol nations. If they don't have an opinion of us yet, they will have one after this, and first impressions are hard to change.''

Constantine thought about this for a bit and said
''So guess th appaerance of two shivering men won't lift our prestige quite a lot will it?''

A Message to Baron Pyotr Meller-Zakomelskiy

We gladly accept your invitation to attend Counter-Revolution Day. I will personally attend as the Diplomate dispatched to all Sol-based nations. I am honoured to receive this invitation, and my ship shall arrive at your space port within a few short hours.

Aboard the Xenohuman Diplomatic Transport 'Eloquence'...'

*Idiots can’t turn it down a little?*
As he sat in the shuttle in orbit over Earth, his assistants and guards enjoyed some near-offensively stereotypical old Russian music at an unseemly volume, Sol-Diplomate Hans Durennel prepared his papers, belongings, and other necessities as the craft approached the spaceport over Moscow. The space-lanes were crowded as ever in one of the ‘Capitals of the Galaxy’, and the barely-FTL ship managed to squeeze between the massive freighters and ever-orbiting satellite-stations to get to its destination.

The small ship docked perfectly, and the detachment of five men and two Drakes quickly made their way to the ‘Elevator’. The ride was relatively quick for a Space Elevator, and when the doors opened, the party strode forth, trying hard mentally to be the best of Xenohumanity in all ways...

The city of Moscow, ancient, massive and the heart of Russia, had undergone a facelift of epic proportions over the previous year. Red Square glistened under a new layer of bricks, the Kremlin walls had been carefully scrubbed free of years of grime. The banks of the Moskva were carefully freed of their assorted weeds and algae, while the less aesthetically pleasing fishers and idlers were hurried off to the outer portions of the city which, hopefully, arriving delegates could be steered away from.

Every corner and shop in the city was positively festooned with banners, either gold on green or in the pan-slavic red-white-and-blue, featuring slogans generally along the lines of 'God save the Tsar!' or 'Death to Communism!' Here and there, crowds of revelers could be found, enjoying the long break from work that accompanied the holiday week coming up. Great barrels of kvas circulated through the crowds on carts, like beetles through a hoard of ants, their tenders making a tidy profit selling mugs of one of Russia's favorite beverages. It was quite warm in July, and thus a cold drink was not to be turned down, even at the astonishing rates generally charged by the tenders. The roar of the crowd was occasionally drowned out by the ringing of churchbells, sounding a trezvon, or triple-peal, every hour.

The crowd was, more than multi-national, quite multi-species. Aliens were far less common than humans, but the spindly, insectoid Abyssinians caused no comment in the crowds, indeed, several could be seen hauling kvas carts and wearing what appeared to be modified ushankas, possibly in an attempt to appear more Russian in defiance of the 80 degree outside temperature and the fact that they did not have any ears, thus rendering the flaps on the hat fairly pointless. Either way, the citizens of Moscow appeared quite content with their non-human fellows, although a few of the more alien sorts were generally given a wide berth, just in case they exploded or started doing something foreign.

On the corners of the street, generally under the banners, priests of the local churches recounted the story of the Imperial Martyrdom, a tale which virtually every Russian knew by heart, having memorized it in school, but it was worth hearing it recounted by a trained priest, especially one who could do the sound effects right.

The whole atmosphere of the city was one of celebration, almost Christmas-like. A deep breath and a moment of peace in between the hardships and difficulties of a long year of galactic conflict and struggle.

Into this thronging celebration, each of the delegates arrived. The descent via elevator was fairly rapid, although it did slow down at several points to provide a view of the city. The delegates themselves were, of course, provided with the finest luxury compartments for their trip, featuring redwood paneled compartments, leather seats and plush red carpets, and attendance by servants in the livery of the family that operated the Moscow Space Elevator. No expense was spared, even in utilitarian transport.

The station itself was decorated similarly to the streets, although the platform the delegates arrived on had been cleared of other pedestrians, being inhabited only by a guide, typically a high-ranking sort from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or a military officer, and a few servants to carry the bags of those delegates. The delegates were, on arrival, quickly escorted out of the station to a waiting carriage with an escort delegated from the Life Guard, towering figures in cuirassier armor, glossy with polish, their black torso contrasting with the white-painted limbs. Each delegate was properly saluted as they arrived, according to their station and rank, before being taken off to their hotel.

These were, of course, the finest available. It was impossible to give each person the best room, but arrangements were made so that it was virtually impossible to complain. The famed Hotel Metropol, featuring 365 rooms, each of different shape and decoration, had been assigned to housing the delegates and their staff. While not featuring especially large rooms (by the standards of those used to living in mansions, in any case), save for a few on the top floor set aside for arriving royalty, each was quite luxurious, featuring a separate sitting room, servants, a variety of media ranging from news feeds from across the galaxy to print copies of various literature (all carefully translated into the appropriate language for those staying in the room), and excellent views of the city around the building.

Further, each delegate was given a direct phone line to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, access to free transportation anywhere in the city, and, naturally, all the food and drink they could possibly desire. Once in place, they were informed that they should take the next few hours to stretch their legs before the reception, at which time transportation would arrive to bring them to the Kremlin for the formal reception.
I AM DISAPPOINTED

As the three delegates followed by their staff and guards entered their room the only thing they could do is stare at the lavish furniture and service that would fit royalty. The State General turned and dismissed the staff and guards to their own rooms,

"Captain, see that everyone makes it to their rooms." The Captain nodded and escorted the guards and attaches to their respective rooms. The three delegates quickly went their separate ways each stepping into their own rooms. Graziano set down his luggage next to his bed and started unpacking his things. The servants helped him to their full extent in organizing and putting away his things, when everything was unpacked and put away the State General waved off the servants and gave each of them a large tip. Graziano quickly poured himself a glass of surprisingly expensive and aged scotch, as he finished the glass he set down the cup and dressed himself in full military attire.

He sat down and skimmed the shelf looking at the great pieces of literature that the library had to offer. He pulled an interesting titled narrative. He set the book on his pillow making a mental note to read the book later. He looked out the window across the russian skyline with the bustling space port in the horizon, from where he was standing the kremlin almost seemed to be in the center of the sprawling metropolis.

A couple of hours later and 4 glasses of scotch one of the servants walked up to the State General and bowed politely,

"Your highness it would we a wise idea to wait outside as the reception is about to arrive." The three delegates with their entourage politely and patiently waited for the reception to arrive. Each delegate dressed in their Generals uniform with the medals plain in sight, military tradition was a large component in the life of most people in Two Sicilies and tonight the delegates were eager to follow the military tradition they each upheld.

Several Weeks Prior to the Parade
Washington D.C
Whitehouse
Oval Office

President Roosevelt chuckled as he took of his spectacles, placing both the spectacles and the letter from the Russian minister of war on his ancient oak desk. The letter was Addressed to President Truman and man who was in charge of America even before President Kane, Truman was famous for his intervention in the later years of the Russian revolution on the side of the non communist forces, he was an avid anti communist and was harsh in how he went about pacifying all communist resistance.

Roosevelt was well versed in American history, and he knew America was at the for front with Russia against Communism and the red tide. What amused him the most was the Russians total lack in interest in American politics, mostly he didn't blame them American presidents most have seemed to swap and change constantly to the Russians. Even through two civil wars the constitution never changed, and every four years there was an election. Roosevelt was halfway through his first term in office now and already he was getting ready for his campaign for a second term. Thumbing the paper and picking it up again he knew that if American forces participated in the parade it would go along way in improving Russian American relations and maybe the Russian aristocrats may even Learn that he was in charge of America.

Flicking on the the Computer with a motion of his hand the holographic screen flicked and appeared. With another simple hand gesture he opened a word document and began to dictate onto the document his reply to the Russian minister of war.

To: All Great and honourable persons of whom this may require attentions of namely the Great an honourable Tsar and his minister of war

It is with Great honour that I accept the most gracious request to partake in the 22nd victory parade, Even though it as been many years since victory was achieved over over the vile communist regimes and dictators. A parade in honour of that most glorious victory is something that is celebrated even in America, although for different battles that America has fought against communism. I am most honoured that you would allow American Soldiers to participate in the parade, in response to this I would like to put forward two brigades of the 2nd infantry division, as well as a wing of F4 Phantoms which have been masterfully recreated from ancient blueprints found several years ago. I do hope that these are acceptable and that a place can be found for them in the parade. I will be personally attending the Parade along with the General Jack Granger and Mr Charles Dickinson Minister of Foreign affairs. all will be accompanied by there respective help once again I hope accommodation can be found for our stay for the parade and I look forward to meeting with Russian dignitaries during my stay.

From the office of the President of the Federated States of America
John Crankshore Roosevelt

Moscow
Russia
Now

Roosevelt Stood as the Space elevator came to a slow stop brushing down his coat, he looked out of the window to the space port just outside, during his trip down to Moscow he had marvelled in sheer size of the city it was as large as New York and Washington DC combined an architectural marvel to say the least. Smiling he checked himself down to make sure his attire wasn't in anyway going to offend some one or make him seem eccentric, for the time of year he had picked a thin black long coat that he could easily unbutton and fold over his arm if it got to hot. underneath the coat he wore a smart black suit with a ice blue tie. Denying a another glass of a rather nice Russian wine Roosevelt turned to General Jack Granger who was dressed in full military dress uniform a bi corn hat with full goldenbrade all his numerous medals his navy blue uniform was covered with goldenbrade just like his hat. The General was part of the joint chiefs and natural candidate to be taken on the trip. the 3rd important figure was Mr Charles Dickinson Roosevelt minister for foreign affairs and the man with the most experience dealing with the Russians and any one else on Earth. Dickinson was wearing very much the same as Roosevelt except he wore a navy blue flight jacket, symbolising his interest in flying.

As the Doors to the space port opened. Roosevelt stepped out to be greeted by the Russian delegates,a man dressed in what Charles had told him before hand was Russian foreign affairs attire and a rather well oil and shiny cavalry man. With a quick shake of the hand and pleasant greetings, Roosevelt and his party found them selves off on there way to to there accommodation. Soaring above the city once again Roosevelt got a closer look at the ancient architecture it seemed the parts of the city portrayed the date they where built in.

"Impressive so much culture squashed into a place like this must make for some of the most interesting tales and stories." Roosevelt smiled as he turned to the two others in the cart. "Wouldn't you agree gentlemen"

"Defiantly Russian culture is so diverse but at the same time they manage to hold an image up of being sophisticated and hardy all at once They are a resourceful people, there leader even more so I would how ever, be weary The past couple of months have not been kind to us diplomatically relations with the French have diminished some what how ever this can be a chance to mend those bridges." Charles piped up from the small book he was reading on Russian drinks and cuisine.

Roosevelt nodded the Whole Dinosian incident had had not gone down well with the French. looking out of the window the Carriage started to descend towards the famous hotel Roosevelt had expected to placed in. Smiling he wiped his spectacles and sorted his tie, in preparation for stepping out of the Carriage. It was possible that news reporters and photographers would be swarming the hotel. Especially since an American had not stepped foot on Russian soil for quite some time.

Placing the last peace of clothing for the week in the wardrobe Roosevelt sighed contently. he had a thing abut doing things himself and not being mollycoddled by servants and helps. He had politely turned down the servants help and gave them all each a generous tip, he made note of the ageing bottle of scotch on the table but as a rule he had for him self he had made himself a strong cup of coffee wanting to save the scotch for a time more appropriate.

Looking out of the rather large window to the Moscow skyline Roosevelt felt a small chill down his spine in awe of the great city. He would be making a few notes for his return to America. Roosevelt was brought back to reality by a soft knock on the door.

"come in!" He spoke allowed as he turned to face the door.

Opening slowly the door revealed a young servant girl. Who bowed respectively. "Sir you are requested to make your way to the reception for the arrival of your transport to the meeting your attaché has been informed." The Girl spoke in broken English

"Thank I will be along shortly" Roosevelt returned in broken Russian, he had taken a crash course in Russian a month after he accepted the invitation to the Parade.

The Girl bowed once again and then walked off. Roosevelt Smiled finishing his coffee and pulling on his suit jacket and adjusting his tie once again making his way to the reception.
