Hi! I am interested in making a "New Continent" RP which any nation can join. But before doing this I want to know that people are going to be dedicated and not do a "one post" ("The great nation of [Insert nation name here] claims this land" *badly edited paint map*). Therefore I am going to have an application that everybody has to fill out and get approved and other awesome stuff. So, I have made a map (Look in spoiler) that is badly colored, but I believe it will work. Now, for the capturing part. If you want land, take it. Do not take an uneccesary amount of it, only about half of the smallest island every 24 hours. I don't want too many nations either, like stated above, four-five maybe six is enough. If the war becomes very intense, maybe we can take it to one of the involved nation's homeland.

Plotwise, I have planned out something war-like. Basically, a few nations (four-five) battle against each other for a continent about the size of the North American Continent (US, Canada) and Greenland altogether which has valuable rescources (Not cliched uranium, but gold, silver, timber etc.). We can have different alliances between the nations, if required/wanted.

As for the land dividing issue; I believe we can all make an agreement in OOC thread and later RP it in The IC thread. I'm on my ipod now so that I can't edit any maps, therefore you will have to wait till tommorow when I can pick the land I am going to take control of. Expect more info tommorow regarding landscape, natives etc.

I was also a part of a Stalingrad RP we had a few months back that lasted for quite a few pages, but I have no clue where it's at under my history (the last link is the one that did lead to it; I get a "The requested topic does not exist" message anytime I try to open it). Pretty much anybody who has RPed with me before knows that I like to communicate using lots of representative images accompanied by text (photographs, dossiers and papers and such I've made with Photoshop, etc.). I think it helps with the visualization process for others, and I've assembled a HUGE collection of pictures to use for all kinds of situations (in the case of this RP, what's the landscape like for this new place? jungle? dense forest like North America was when the Europeans first arrived to colonize it?).

Climate:
If you imagine a strait line from left to right in the middle of the lower brown spot (Which is a mountain with dry ground surrounding it) on the map, the upper part is north and the lower part is south.

North: Humid Continental Climate; Warm to hot in the Spring/Summer seasons and cold (snow) in the Winter season.
South: Humid Subtropical Climate; Warmer to hotter in the Spring/Summer seasons and cool (no snow) in the Winter season.

Prairies and lush forests exist in plenties. By forests i am refering to Colorado and Oregon/Washington type forests. There are no rainforests on any of the Islands.

The land will be divided in three turns that will take place in both the OOC and IC threads. Example:

Turn 1: One of you guys: I want this piece of land *Shows badly edited paint map*
Me: Any objections? No? Well, then you can have it.
OR
One of you guys: I want this piece of land *Shows badly edited paint map*
Me: Any objections? Yes? TG each other and sort it out and if that doesn't work, I'll assign some land to you.
In the IC thread this will basically be the "Captain Explorer saw a beautiful and enormous island in the horizon" and "The soldiers were setting up tents for the night, tommorrow they were going to start building real houses" post(s).

Turn 2: The same as above except you can take a larger amount of land this time. This will take place after the events of Turn 1 in the IC. In the IC thread this will be the posts were you discover natives and resource deposits.

Turn 3: This is where we start forming alliances against each other. Example: On one side you have the oppressive guys that are enslaving the natives and making them work to suck the value and resources out of their own land. On the other side you have the liberal nations that want to "assimilate" the natives and help them adapt to modern society and protect them from enslavement, ofcourse. Wars develop among us and the natives and these wars may even escalate to become nuclear wars. If there is someone who knows he/she can't always be active everyday, there is an option to NOT join any alliance but remain a rogue nation only semi-involved in the big conflict. I do recommend you join an alliance however.

As for godmodding etc. I will decide when a nation should be kicked, if the nation does something out of line.

I also propose a "New World Confederation" for us colonies. Simply a league that will promise to work together to achieve peace and stability on these new lands while working on our finances. Plus its great if we get a tyrant colony which needs to be removed. Thats my suggestion
