In the time we spent together in the service of a higher ideal I had no indication of your devious nature. It was only after you obviously let personal feelins interfere with your standing in the Pact during the altercation with Serpensa that we began to get some idea of who you actually were.
It soon became obvious that you had your claws sunk into our Founder, bleeding away his vigour, his life-blood, his war lust and using it in the service of your own ends. A parasite, seeking to live off something far greater than yourself. A hopeless savage, seeking to detroy what you could not possibly create.

And, in doing so, you have violated some of our most sacred laws.

It is the charge of threatening the unity of the Steel Pact that rests upon your head, along with the minor charges of sedition, conspiracy, infiltration with dishonest motives, circumvention of meritocracy, propogation of moderatism in direct contradiction of the Pact Charter and threatening war. You have been found guilty, and shall face the full consequenses of your actions.

It is with great regret that I announce that a state of war now exists between the Steel Pact and The Autocratic Catholic Imperium of Gratislavia.

Britannia finds itself in a most difficult situation at present. We have allies on both sides of this conflict-many members of the Steel Pact are also members of the SEC, and Britannia is obligated to defend Gratislavia due to an MDP that was signed between our nations.

As such, we must press for peace in the current situation. While the Gratislavians may not be looked upon so fondly within the Pact after a recent fiasco, that is hardly a reason to invade and destroy their entire country. We must request that all nations involved attempt to find a peaceful resolution to this conflict before it boils into something much more intense, something which could wind up costing millions of lives on all sides.

This government, and the direct predecessors upon which we have endeavored to build, has kept in good faith and with firm resolve the fundamental principles of liberty, sacrifice, honor, vigilance, and self-determination. Such virtues have ensured the safety, security, and survival of the body politic in a multitude of sovereign nationalistic entities; ours is no exception. Indeed, the institutions of this government have long sought to render unto others what is just in response to justice, and what is right in response to righteousness. To them that be unjust, let them be unjust still, and to them that be unrighteous, let them be unrighteous still.

Recently, we have been made aware of a growing sense of distrust, nigh bordering on treasonous disunity within the sovereign fellowship of states known as the Steel Pact. Lest it go unsaid, there have been whispers (if only) regarding the renewed state of the Azuran Republic in your inner circles, perhaps a fleeting mention regarding our recent expeditions into the realm of Socialist ideological mores and alliance-building. This, however, is a facade covering our true entity; for we are stronger than an alliance, and more brazen than they who would hide behind the banner of an organization of allied militant states. We hold no auspices of dominion, or conquest, or imperialistic dogmatism with the Steel Pact or its signatory states; nor do we seek to disrupt, disunite, or in likewise manner cause punitive damages to your organization. Verily, the Ixionist Republic of New Azura has no intentions to involve any of our own allied partners in this issue; of that, you may rest assured.

The reason for this eloquent missive is quite simple, and apropos considering the current state of affairs within the confines of the modern geopolitical spectrum. A recent disturbance within your core leadership bloc has threatened to let loose the bloodhounds of war upon the Autocratic Catholic Imperium of Gratislavia. While we would feign innocence over the perceived grievances which have led to such a monumental and potentially cataclysmic decision, the truth of this matter rests in our knowledge of the tumultuous relationship between the Gratislavian state and the upper echelon of the Steel Pact. Ergo, we are not prepared to intervene in this purely speculative conflict out of any sense of loyalty to the people of Gratislavia, nor would we hold a vested interest in causing further turmoil within the Steel Pact's sphere of influence by throwing our own considerable clout into this decrepit ring of futile military endeavors and brazen diplomatic bantering.

However, there is a caveat to this missive, which shall serve as a fulcrum for continued relations within our two spheres of influence. Though we have little vested interest in the inner workings of your organization, a pronounced military action in or about the territorial sovereignty of the Gratislavian state would become a sore blight on the reputation of all involved. More importantly, the economic ramifications of a prolonged military operation will threaten to jeopardize vital economic interests for several major international entities; ourselves included. While we sympathize with your need to resolve matters of succession and order in a timely fashion, we cannot allow a wanton challenge of reckless abandonment spiral into a full-scale regional maelstrom. We have no intention of being dragged into a war.

Ergo, in the interest of national security, and with an eye to the vitality of Azuran economic interests in the greater conflict region, the Ixionist Republic of New Azura is prepared to issue the following ultimatum. As the sovereign representative, in spirit and in truth, of this great Republic, I, the Righteous Ixion of the Cailene Church, Castiel do hereby pronounce a state of heightened military alert within the confines of the Honourable Armed Forces of the Ixionist Republic of New Azura, to take effect without further delay. A military convoy of twenty warships from our forward bases in Rahido will be dispatched upon the completion of their readiness inspections, to set sail with haste for the sea lanes leading to Gratislavia. Our intentions will be to create a military buffer zone, preventing either the Gratislavian Navy or the forces of the Steel Pact from interacting without first coming to the peace table. We offer ourselves, or our non-partisan allies as adjudicators in this process, and will gladly host, participate in, and coordinate a peaceful and diplomatic conclusion to this crisis. Our military presence is merely to prevent both sides from going down a dark, apocalyptic path.

However, we issue a firm warning to all involved. While we seek only a peaceful resolution to this crisis, and do genuinely pray and actively seek to better both the Gratislavian state and the signatory states of the Steel Pact in any peaceful accord, we shall not move into this tempest with our guard down. Verily, we have ideological differences which may threaten at some point in the distant (or not so distant future) to unravel the bonds of fellowship that we share within the international community of sovereign states. The Honourable Navy of the Azuran Republic, and its full retaliatory options, will be present on the sea lanes leading to Gratislavia. If any flagged vessel of a known belligerent makes an aggressive move against our military flotilla, the Ixionist Republic of New Azura will consider all offers to mediate a peaceful settlement between both sides to be over, with no recourse but to replace the idea of suing for parlay with the bloody specter of punitive military incursions against the belligerent party.

In short, we issue this warning in our simplest terms: we offer ourselves as a broker of a peaceful settlement that will benefit all parties. We shall not stand idly by and wait for sense to return to you all, however, and will in good faith intervene to protect all sides from going down the paths of war. If our good gesture is reciprocated with armed violence, however, we shall unleash a fury upon you so vast, you would not manage to find all the body parts. And while the warmongers are out in full force, we shall seek continued efforts to bring about peace at any cost. Our peacekeeping force has been coordinated, and will soon make for the territorial waters of Gratislavia. We shall not encroach upon their territorial sovereignty, but shall make our defensive line beyond the international demarcation line. Operating outside the Gratislavian Exclusionary Zone, our forces will have full precedent according to the rule of international law to operate in our intended fashion.

We urge for calm on all fronts, including the Grand Empire that is Benyamin and the Anarchist faction known as Populi Vox from expounding upon an already volatile situation. While we understand that the political ideologies present in this conflict almost preclude that kind of rational thinking, it is our solemn duty to uphold peace in the region.
