President Karl Johnson walked through the refugee camp that had sprung up around the Embassy. He was the leader of a lost peoples. His nation had been invaded, thousands killed, he'd been able to evacutate a fair number of his nations population to a nation who had accepted the large numbers of refugees. But still millions of his people were under enemy control. What little armed forces he had, were sitting in this nations ports and air stations.

As he walked he saw the faces of his people across the sprawling camp. He received a salute of the Marine at the Embassy before heading through to the Office. The team then entered and set up TV and (More useful) Radio transmitters, as most refugees had a Radio.
Turning to it he said.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the President, The fact that my first address to you comes to you from a consulate on foreign soil in a testement to our new reality. Our nation is under hostile control, a large part of our people are under oppresive control. The people of us who made it here are here at the charity of a nation who know little about us. They've accepted us without any expectation of repayal, at least in the short term, and I am Deeply humbled by their hosiptality. I come before you know with a pledge...One day, we will get back home and we will take our land back, God Bless the Republic"

The televised address of President Karl Johnson was able to reach to Premier Optazina Hatyzkh, in the Red House is Kasvenogorod. Not through radiowaves or satellites, but through a letter from the Soviet Intelligence, Special Operations and Counter-Terrorist Agency, or SISOCTA, the Intelligence Arm of the Red Martilian Armed Forces. The Premier was wondering what caused the situation on that nation. He ordered further information to be gathered. Right now, he can't do anything because of insufficient information.

Having a friendly neighbour who is in possesion ofthat territory will give us acess to the material for a reasonable trade rate should we ever need it. it'll also provide us witha close ally in case we ever need one. Lastly, its just the right thing to do and one would hope that another nation would do the same thing for us if we faced the same predicament."

Island "Echo"
Construction had been completed on aleast a portion of the primary island. A port had been set up as had a certain number of buildings. The Buildings that had been set up were government buildings including VIP rooms, meeting halls etc. Cold storage was in place along with enough supplies to last quite some time. The buildings also housed a set of underground bunkers, something of a speciality for the ASD'ian combat engineers. Residential zones we're also in place along with buildings and equippment designed for various types of production. 5 millitary compounds had also been set up. three had housed the three COM ENS forces but two were abandoned as those COM ens had moved to other islands where they had built two more Compounds. The compounds included fixed ABM and AA defences along with housing for 5 00 or more, airstrips and production facilities for small arms, ammo, etc. A single, large, airport had also been set up and, already ASD'ian donations were being flown in. Everything from toys to canned foods and clothing had been donated by the people of the ASD many of whom either remeberd or had relatives who had lived through the ASD"ian civil war and realized only to well how truely aweful war could be.

The Prime minister of the ASD and the crown prince stood inside the Terminal of the airport looking outside as they awaited the arrival of Karl Johnson alongside an honor guard of 30 Woad Raiders in full battle dress. on the airstrip a further 20 of the Woad Raiders stood in two ranks awaiting the arrival of the Haltonian Air force One. A single Squadron of Hawk-2 interceptors we're already escorting the plane in on its final approach. Around them streatched the newely built city. Houses, office buildings, manufacturing plants, hospitals, firehouses, police stations and a downtown all stood empty awaiting the arrival of the people that would be aHopefully, soon. Combat engineers continued to work on roads and clearing the wilderness around what would become the captial of New Halton in preparation for farming. A number of mining expeditions and prospecting grounps had completed a survey of natural resources on the four large islands and uncountable smaller ones. Everything was prepared including the "Capitol compound" a structure built specifically to house the president and to act as a captial building for an entire nation. it was fully outfitted with everything a capital would need as well as a dedicated sattelite downlink and acess to ASD'ian civillian sattelites and two, recently launched millitary sattelites designated H1 and H2 to be given over to the Haltonians upon their arrival.

Halton (combat Zone), Third Fleet
The Third fleet of the ASDN approached the edge of Occupied Haltonian Naval space. As it did so the ship formation changed, Areospace Defense ships tightened in around the central Carrier and dradnoughts, Subs slipped outwards forming a loose outward perimiter and figthers and AWAKs screamed off carriers and into the air. This completed, Third fleet moved into the "ennemy" territory.

"Alright boys" Said Admiral Neilson. "This is a defensive mission for now ROE are simple. Anything shoots at us we shoot back but only with conventional high precision Munitions. We will limit colateral damage at all costs. Marines get ready for a hot landing. Good luck and god speed to you all."

Vice-Admiral Elena Webb was in control of the fleet in Sophia Hawks abscence and was very stressed.

My first fleet command and its one of the most finiky that the ASD has gone into. This is not gonna be fun. She thought to herself Staring over the deck of the ASD'ian Combined Fleet Flagship and dtaking a measure of solace in the blatant power exuded by the massive ship. How i wish that Ralkovian ceremony Hadn't pulled her away . . .especially not now but, hell, I guess it had to happen some time and Neilson has overall command so this shouldn't be too bad.

She looked at her XO. "So Sam, what do you think of this one?" She Asked.

"Well m'am, he replied." Frankly? its gonna be a pain in the ass but probably not too dangerous,basically its Hostage rescue on a grand scale. the biggest headache will probably be moving the 10 million people we're hopping to get out. Other than that, its really up to the Spec. ops guys and our marines and they are GOOD at this kinda stuff."

Karl held on to the sides of his chair, as the heavilly laden aircraft touched down. As he looked out the window, the Dawoadian aircraft that had escoreted the plane in split of and the plance slowly came to taxi speed. It was then piloted to the designated parking zone. As the steps were put up to the doors. The cabin crew opened them. Two Marines walked down the steps and took up postion on either side the steps. Whilst the Civvilians were off-loaded via the back door, Karl stepped down the Front stairs. Returning the Salutes he received from the Marines. Following his was the Vice President and the Emergency Cabinet. They awited instructions on where to go from there.

Halto Combat Zone

Awaiting the incomming fleet was two Carrier groups, and a pair Of Battleships. Beneath the surface were two Squadrons of Eight Attack Submarines. In the air, ground based fighters swarmed the sky as they supported the Carriers Air Wings.

The 20 Marines Held the salute for a second before commandant Lewis Hawk walked to the President.

"Hello sir." He said. "If you'll follow me inside we have a small ceremony planned and then we will turn over your nation to you." Hawk smiled. "I'm actually kind of looking foward to hearing what you think of it."

"Sir!" said the radar operator "we've got multiple contacts, looks like two full CBGs and aprox. 16 seperate submarine signatures though thats more of an estimate than anything else."

"Understood." Replied Neilson. "Go to formations two. Have the shield be ready to launch full CM salvos and get a firing lock on all of the ennemies get the Swords to target the ennemy carriers and scramble all interceptors."

The full complement of AWAKs, Interceptors and strike fighters was launching fighter after fighter heading for the skies as radar, sea and air bourne, began to light up ennemy targets.

"Thank you" Karl replied as he followed the Commandant. He was flanked by to Secret Service agents, follwoed by the VP and Cabinet "I'll be sure to let you know" Karl added, smiling

Halton Combat Zone

The waiting defense fleet didn't wait for the Dawoadians to open fire. They launched a large Salvo of Tomahawk cruiser missiles, numbering around a hundred, followed by a pair of Salvos from the battle ships. The Aircraft moved ahead, the Fighters engaged the Dawoadian aircraft whilst the strike fighters headed for the fleet.

"only a hundred missiles?" Neilson grinned "alirhgt boys lets do this! Weapons free I repeat weapons free."

At his words the sheilds opened up. Tomahawks had very little in the way of missile avoidance and the hundred we're blotted from the sky by 144 Pilum class long range CMs and over 200 Javelin class Medium range Cms. Then the shields shifted fire. They we're soely designed for areospace defense and they did it very, very well. 300 Longbow missiles streaked up at the incoming ennemy strike fighters followed 10 seconds later by 50 more and that was just defensive fire. Ennemy cannon fire was harder to stop, of course but the ships manuvered quickly and the range was still long leaving a single Strike taking two hits ans an Oblivion class taking a third. Then the ASD'ian fleet replied in kind. Two 20 inch cannon on each of the 10 swords fired at the four ennemy carriers sending a 20 round volley downrange. Beside it the two Dreadnoughts launched 12 more at the ennemy battleships attempting too saturate the two ennemy heavy ships. Half a second later the ASD'ian fleet errupted into flame as a single massive missile set of 500 missiles launched and these missiles we're the best Anti-ship missiles the ASDN had to offer and they we're spread out across the ennemy fleet. The missiles had very complex endflight routines designed specifically to avoide ennemy countermissiles and last ditch CWIS emplacements. worse for the ennemy was the strike against their subs. A volley of 50 ASM torpedoes kinfed through the water towards the pre targeted submarines as ACtive Jamming went to full clouding the ASD"ian radars for a second before complex algorithms compensated.


Airforce
As the 300 missile strong volley streaked upwards towards the ennemy strike fighters the ASD'ian fighters launched a pair of Long range meteor class Ballistic missiles adding 640 Moremissiles to the salvo targeting the ennemy strike fighters as the ASD"ian force split. The Strike Fighters headed for the ennemy Strike fighters hopefully to prey on a confused disoriented and somewhat decimated ennemy. The Interceptors hit afterburner and streaked towards the ennemy interceptors hopping to engage the ennemies in the close range dogfighting that was the ASD'ian Pilots' stock in trade.

This fleet had simply not been intended to combat enemy forces. That was why they had been assigned to the relativvly low-risk sector of the coastline. Most of the crews were young and inexperianced. Thus the ships took a lot of damage from enemy fire. The Fighters took heavy casualties. The truth was, the occupiers carred little for the peoples of the country, only its resources, if the Haltonia government wanted their people they could had them, therefore they didn't send the more proffiecent fleet into the combat.

THe Defense fleet soon attempted to disengage and flee.

Third Fleet, Halton Combat Zone
"Sir," Said the XO, "They're disengaging and one of our ships is going down."

He motioned to the icon of a single Strike class MAB that was blood red. It was,of course, the strike that had taken multiple cannon blows.

"Ok" Replied Neilson. "Breakoff and rearm have on of the hospital ships pick up our troopers and move the fleet inshore. Just in case this is a feint stay at battle readiness and have everything rearm but I think we're good."

"Aye aye SIR!" Replied the Xo and began relaying orders. Soon the ennemy fleet was disapearing over the horizon as the Fleet moved inshore and marine landing craft began to deploy Stacking up before they made a move to assault the beach. Life rafts swarmed around the Strike craft and headed to the hospital ship as the Strike burned and sank, dropping to the ocean floor.

As the contingent enterred the airport terminal the 30 other Woadraiders Snapped to attention before being joined by their compatriots. Jarek Mace stepped forward to greet the President.

"Hello sir." He said. "I'm the prime minister, it is nice to finaly meet you."
The he became more formal.

"By the power vested in me by the royal family, represented here by crown prince Olek Britannicus, I give you these lands may your people prosper in them always."

With that he presented a hand forged ASD'ian ceremonial claymore to the leader. It was in a practical sheath and was a very high quality blade though a "virgine".

"This blade has never seen combat." Continued Mace "and i hope that it never will but if you must wield it then remeber that you can always call upon us for aid and that we, like the blade, will not fail."

With the formal ceremony ended he grinned. "Now lets show you to your nation."

The Marines began they're assault as landing ships numbering 100 moved for the shore line. Active redar onboard the shields flayed at the shoreline but were finiding nothing, so far anyway.
"Nothing yet sir." Said Sam.

"Understood ex." Replied Neilson. "so far alls well."

As they left the Terminal and stepped into the completely clean and empty city two ASD'ian IFVs pulled up.

"This is where I leave you." Said Jarek. "I'm sorry but i must return to my nation. Hawk will introduced you to your city."

"Hawk grinned and said, "and I'm looking forward to it too." then he jumped into one of the IFVs. "Please join me he said motioning to the president and his guard. The next stop is your captiol compound."

"Of course Mr Prime Minister" Karl responded as the Prime Minister took his leave, before turning to Hawk. He nodded with a smile and followed him to the IFV, with the VP and the two Secret Service agents. Karl looked out the IFV's window as they headed towards the compound.

And here . . .we . . . are." Said Hawk as they enterred the compound. The majestic compound was built into the side of one of the four mountains that made up the heart for the capital city. The compound was, frankly beautifle with old style Stone buildings. there were five buildings within the "perimiter" a low stone fence. One was a dedicated millitary facility with ABM defences and the site of most of the processing power in the capitol building. Another building was the ornate meeting hall. A third was housing and the fourth was the presidential residence. The fifth, and most impressive building was the control center and that was where the IFVs were heading there was the heart of New Halton. Sattelite, communications, and a state of the art command and control center along with plenty of space for unit reports and automated defences it was there that Hawk would be truely handing over the reigns of power.

"So? he grinned as he stepped out of the IFV. From their possition on the mountain one could see the whole of the city as it streched out in all directions.

The Marines, finding no resistance yet, continued standard landing procedures. One hundred meters from the shore line IFVs and Tanks disgorged from the amphibious carriers. They hit the beech first and fanned out, forming up a perimeter. Soon after that, the Marines landed and did the same thing before beginning to dig in. 500 meters inshore a camp began to be built and combat engineers were landing and would be building the beginnings of a base. Offshore the fleet was fully battle ready and prepped for airstrikes and land attack though that hadn't happened yet either. Away from the beeach, 5 marine special operations Platoons we're patroling inland and mapping the area but they were going slow not trying to kick off any sort of combat yet.

"It's amazing" Karl said in awe as he looked around at the various buildings as he stepped down from the IFV. He looked up at the mointain above them and up highter into the blue sky. Behind him the rest of the Cabinet and the Secret Service detail arrived. Karl barely conceeled a smile as the Agents already spread out the check the perimiter. Becky Royle, Vice President, joined Karl.
"Oh wow" She said as she too looked at the buildings and the mointain.

Hawk grinned even larger and some of the normaly stone faced Woad Raiders were actually openly grinning.

"We had really hopped you would like it. Building an entire nation from ground up is kind of a new thing for us." Said Hawk "Um but we still have some things to go over."

Hawk gestured to the central command building. "If you'll follow me sirs?"

Hawk and the raiders lead the way into the rather impressive building. Upon moving through a set of blast doors inside the building The group came into the semi circular shapped room in the middle of the building. Around the room a number of Computer stations were linked to a single main screen that dominated the single flat wall.

"Welcome to command central." Said Hawk quietly as he moved to one of the computer sections and typed in a code. "This is now completely under your control you have a number of functions here. "

As he spoke the massive main screen flickered into life and split into multiple sections showing maps of NS earth, population numbers and millitary layout as well as two realtime sattelite downlinks.
